The space is large and the scenery is beautiful, but the blond waiter at the front desk is not friendly enough and very impatient. Inquiries about the train station were ignorant, but the other waiters were very good, and finally learned about swimming.

When the tram reaches its terminus, you can see the most ugliest building on Scheveningen beach - yes, this is Carlton Beach Hotel. You enter, the reception is dark and staff is, well, not particularly interested in the guests. You receive your room key, open the door of your room - and love the place. Seaview, sand beach, terrace to sit out, all amenities. And a fabulous breakfast next morning. Enjoy your beach walk early morning, go north for an endless secluded beach. Lovely.

Night away booked at the CARLTON BEACH HOTEL in SCHEVENINGEN for May 6, through a BONGO voucher for my husband's birthday. On 3 May, our nine-year-old daughter, her underwear, and therefore must sit in a wheelchair for three weeks, needs additional care, because she cannot do anything independently. The hotel was called or we could change the booking, no, they couldn't arrange for us and referred to Bongo. Directly called and at Bongo would be contacted with the hotel or offered a solution. At the end of the day (4 May) after several telephone calls between me, Carlton Beach Hotel Scheveningen and Bongo, we received the information that nothing could be cancelled or changed to the reservation. The terms were clear, until 10 days before arrival, and it could be cancelled or changed, which is a disappointing reaction, as if we could predict that this would happen. My experience with both CARLTON BEACH HOTEL SCHEVENINGEN and BONGO is that there is absolutely no flexibility and that one is over-proportionate star in this obvious overpower situation, even in a returning guest. We did not ask for an annulment of the reservation alone, whether there would be another date, with payment, available, to be able to stay a little away together, and both parties did not want to cooperate in any way. My advice please spend your money elsewhere, because to returning customers/gastes, these ”companies” offer no value at all.

Stayed for 1 nt. hotel is right at the end of the esplanade. Lovely views and sunset over the sea. On checking in we asked about a standard and a superior room, as we hadn’t precooked our visit, lady on reception with abit of effort could have sold us a superior room but when I asked if we could see both rooms she said not as she was alone on reception ( in other hotels we have been given a key to look ourselves) in the past. Standard sea view room was very nice, however neither did she recommend we needed to book to eat in the restaurant, and being a Monday evening we didn’t think it would be necessary, we were wrong, only 1 chef on so couldn’t eat there. Decided to walk into town to eat, definately go the road route, hotel suggested a back way by the harbour, not a good plan, after a long dark explore the exit was blocked, so stick to the road. Checked out in the morning and had a lovely breakfast in the old town at a beautiful bakers shop, better than 25€ ea at the hotel. Would stay again if visiting the beautiful den Haag beaches.

The Indigo in The Hague is in the heart of the city. It is just two tram stops from The Hague Central Station. It is within walking distance from the Peace Palace, the Parliament, the Mauritshuis and other attractions. Noordenburg Palace is also within easy reach. Convenient, as the front desk staff is very friendly, and the efficiency is very high, the design of the rooms is also very special, breakfast is OK, the overall stay feels good, can recommend.

Because it is a member, check in and candy in advance, there is a small episode during the stay, but it is satisfactorily resolved, overall praise, about 1,500 meters from the Central Railway Station, walking is also very close to Chinatown, walking along the commercial street of the hotel Reachable.

This is the third time we stayed here due to its perfect location The 4 star rating is purely based on the room which was large, clean and functional. Reception staff, as experienced before, are not welcoming, uninterested and not very helpful. In the end, one stays at a hotel for the experience of having a good location, a quiet comfortable room and a good bed.

Decent hotel with small but comfortable rooms. The windows can be opened which is great. Airco appears not to be doing much (is it real air conditioning or is it only a ventilation system?) Breakfast is quite good with decent coffee. Main drawback is that the hotel bar closes quite early. The hotel is located in walking distance of the beach.

This hotel is more convenient to stay in The Hague, it is very recommended. In addition to the need to take a car from the hotel to the beach, you can easily reach other places on foot. The hotel service is very good. The check-in staff and the check-out staff are very friendly. A bag of snacks will be given to us every time we leave. A person who lives in his house. The room is very clean, there is no strange smell, the TV can be cast screen, if you want to watch the Chinese channel, just cast the screen. I will definitely stay here next time I go to The Hague~

Quirky modern hotel in the centre of Den Hague in an old block that has been rejuvenated. Very friendly and helpful welcome. Eccentric decor, with plenty of collections of everyday items, as though our society is being studied and viewed by an anthropologist from a different world. The breakfast was really excellent with plenty of choice. Comfortable rooms, sparkling clean with crisp bed linen and a good shower.

Beautiful hotel, you are treated like a movie star from the minute you arrive. Attentive and polite staff with a sense of humour. We were there for our first wedding anniversary and it is one I won't forget in a hurry. Lovely room with a comfy bed. Fun aspect was that there was a stair up to the bed, bathroom downstairs. Even though our room was across from the lift you didn't hear a sound. Breakfast was delicious, made to order omelettes and the most delicious fresh oj I have ever had. Lush!

Room (upgrade received as HHonors Diamond member) was very clean and spacious as was the hotel and corridors in general. Executive lounge has a nice terrace and offered a very good variety of food during happy hour. Breakfast buffet is rich and of very good quality. The breakfast room can be very busy but guests can also use additional seating in the adjacent bar, so this is not a problem. The hotel is about 15 minutes walk away from the Binnenhof. Overall one of the best Hilton hotels we have stayed so far.

After reading the various negative reviews (after booking my trip!) I was mildly apprehensive about my stay here for a number of nights. Upon arrival I was pleasantly surprised to find the hotel very clean, although the check-in process was a time-consuming.mThe room iI was given was small but quite acceptable for my needs and quite clean. Once up in the room, I tried to call down to reception to clarify a minor issue. They ignored my calls. I rang 3-4 times over a period of 20-30 minutes, on one attemnpt, letting it ring for up to 10 minutes. No answer. I eventually found the information I needed in the small info-sheet after looking carefully. The next day, taking a day off from business, I wanted to stay in my room to write emails and so on, so I put out the 'please make up my room now sign at 8 am and went out for breakfast. There were 4 or 5 people in housekeeping on the floor, who, through the course of the day as I came and went, they, seemed have decided they should be doing every single room EXCEPT mine. I has to go to to reception again around lunch time as I found my key disabled. It took the gentleman on reception 25 minutes (I time this) just to be able to create me a new key, and there was no explanation other than ”the system is playing up”. Also at this time, I specifically asked if they would ensure my room was made up and I was assured he would contact housekeeping to make sure it would be done. I went out to lunch. I returned just before three, and the room remained unattended to. I went to reception, this time to register complain, and was quite brusquely told ”this is jsut because the housekeeping staff are busy”. Obviously so!! BNusy all day long doing every room apart from the only room with the ”please make up my room now ” sign hung on the door!! I asked to speak to the manager and was rebuffed. It was clear from the evasive response to my requrest that the receptionist did not want me to speak to the mana gera. After I said I really did want to speak to the manager I was told she wa s busy but would be along shortly. I expected him to do something to contact the manager such as pick up the phone or go to find her, instenad he simply started to ignore me and began to deal with another customer, which behaviour I found most discourteous. When I remonstrated about this he irritable stated taht ”I'm dealing with your problem by email -- you just can't see what I am writing on my screen”. 15 mins of this silent treatment passed I asked again for the manager and was told she was too busy to talk to me. I returned to my room, and housekeeping finally arrived at 1500. These service failings would be incompatible with a 3* rating hotel, but the ket to this thing is that these annoyances are all people related. it is not any indivudual issue-- these things are routine, and dealt with elegantly in even the cheapest of hotels. I expect more from a so-called 5 start property. I It is a real pity as the latest own

I was staying 5 nights. I had originally booked for 3 but wrote to reception back in November I wanted to extend the stay to 5 nights. I did ask should I just make a new reservation and they said no, it was recorded. This was confirmed as was the new price. When I arrived at reception, they had no record of my 5 night stay and I had to find the email to confirm both the extension and the remaining nights to pay. The person was lovely and sorted it out, but I felt a bit strange about it. Then after the 3rd night I received an automatic check out message so I checked with reception and they thought I was checking out and I had to go through the whole thing again. I had already paid so I explained that too. Anyway perhaps a note could have been added or something on the system. The location was perfect. I felt safe walking around at night and it was very convenient for the Amare centre. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was hot and the shower was a good size. I liked they had some BBC channels. I think on day 4, the wifi was down. This is not reception’s fault but it was out for probably 30 hours. This seems quite odd in a major hotel for it to be out for so long. Unfortunate but it was fixed eventually. Staff were nice. Lifts worked well.

I love Novotel as a chain, and have stayed at this hotel before and was quite happy. This time I felt things were a little off and I wasn't as satisfied. I seem to recall getting a free bottle of water in the room, which it appears is not included anymore. No more individual shower gels and soaps, but now big pumps of soap, which is OK if you have the complete set of them. Yes, it's more environmentally friendly but it's also a sign of cost-cutting. Breakfast was more or less the same -- good choice and quality -- except on a busy weekend they seemed totally overwhelmed and people had to queue to get a table. On a quieter morning, I noticed a sign stating one can request omelettes and poached eggs from the kitchen, so I did, and this dish never materialized, which was a little awkward. The fresh orange juice machine is awful: constant noise and queues of people taking ages to each make one glass of juice, as it requires that the user slice the orange and then ram each half, one at a time, into the machine, yielding a tiny amount of juice. Repeat for 6 or 7 oranges to get a glass... It would be funny to watch as slapstick if it weren't so annoying to listen to. On the positive side, the rooms are still attractive, comfortable, and quiet.

This is an older hotel and the upkeep hasn’t been up to standards. The security chain on our door was missing, and the shower head in the bathroom was not appropriate for the shower stall, which has a half wall of glass separating it from the rest of the bathroom, with the other half open. Instead of directing the water straight down (rainfall style) the non-adjustable shower head spreads the water pattern out, which sprays water out of the shower stall into the other half of the bathroom. We had to use the flexible shower wand to keep from making a mess in the bathroom. Breakfast was good, but very crowded on Saturdays. We booked the room with dinner included, but there seemed to have been communication or procedural problems between the front desk staff (which were very nice, but the way) and the restaurant staff (also very nice) on how to use the coupons. We’re issued a multiday coupon, which the restaurant staff insisted they had to take from us on the first day for proof of service, so we had to go back and asked for individual coupons for each day. The location was a little far from center of town, so walking there takes 30-45 minutes. It’s close to parks though, so good if you like nature. In conclusion, it’s an okay place to stay, but not someplace to rave about.

It took me a while to write this review since I was afraid of my personal safety. Nevertheless, I have finally decided to share this information with other travelers. This incident happened during a weekday night when I decided to do a walk-in at the Ibis hotel in Den Haag after a long trip. I was already aware of some bad reviews from other travelers indicating ”naughty” staff. Nonetheless, I decided to give it a go. I entered the hotel and mentioned the hotel clerk that I wanted to book a room. His attitude was rough indicating me that he did not have any rooms left. For my bad luck, my phone was out of battery so I decided to seat in one of the tables in the lobby to quickly charge it to look for a hotel somewhere else. While I was charging my phone, the clerk approached me and shouted at me that I had to leave the hotel. I explained him that I wanted to charge my phone to look for other hotels in the area and I wouldn't take much time. He continued shouting at me that I had to leave, when suddenly he grabbed my bag and literally threw it to the street. At this moment I was petrified since I never imagined something like this was happening. Then, he pushed me violently out of the hotel. Luckily I managed to take a picture of this guy. The guy has a tattoo on his right arm and rather than a hotel clerk, he thinks he is a MMA fighter or part of gang. I really don't know how the manager of this hotel can have person like this with such level of anger dealing with customers. My review by no means intend to advice other travelers to visit or not this hotel. I believe the facilities of this hotel are quite nice but what I can say is that I'm not entering this place again until they take strong actions towards improving the quality of their staff. I hope this guy doesn't get fired because of this review but if the hotel really wants to keep him, the hotel should consider send him to an anger management course. I don't know if this guy is always like this or just had a bad night and he took it on me. Nonetheless, I think no one should suffered what this guy did to me under any circumstance.

Our bedrooms were clean and comfortable, with very comfortable beds. The hotel is centrally located, the buffet breakfast good. However, rooms overlooking the covered “Passage” shopping arcade have virtually no natural light and are noisy (cleaning starts early in the Passage and piped music is almost continuous when the shops are open!). We had two rooms, one overlooking the Passage and the other on the front of the building, which was slightly smaller but much more comfortable. Most frustratingly, we booked the hotel because it has a car park onsite but when we arrived we were asked if we drove an electric vehicle and told that as we do, we would not be able to use the car park as “electric vehicles are a fire risk”!!! This was particularly irritating because we had mentioned in our booking that we would be driving an EV. Disadvantages: no parking for EVs, rooms overlooking the “Passage” noisy and dark. Advantages: clean, comfortable beds, central.

Spotless rooms with very nice toiletries. Only negative issue was the service in the reception. Hardly any smiles, you do not get a feeling that you are welcomed. I received a wrong invoice with a name of another customer when I rented a bike. However, the bike rental is otherwise very easy and the bikes are a good quality. If the weather allows I recommend to cycle to your destination. Excellent breakfast with a variety of gluten free and vegan options. You may also have a custom-made omelet.

Really rate this hotel. Stayed here under previous management and enjoyed it then. The hotel is in a fantastic location for the world forum and allows easy walks into town and to the beach. Good quality breakfast but was chaos at 8am with lots of items run out and not being replaced. Came earlier the next 2 days. Service in the bar was terrible, a server told my colleague that they couldn’t make a cocktail on the menu because they ‘didn’t have time’. They’d already taken payment for it before they mentioned this. They then offered a beer in place which was 1/3 of the price and it took 3 members of management and 30 minutes to get a refund for the cocktail they didn’t serve. They then came back and said they now did have time to make it and that he could take it to his room, on his own, to drink it. He repeated the 5th time for a refund. That aside, If you want a good hotel in a great location in Den Haag, this is the one for you.

This hotel would be a wonderful place to stay if it is not during the heat of the summer. The lobby is large and has a lot of character. The breakfast is terrific. The staff is friendly. However, the air conditioning simply doesn't work. And to make matters worse, the windows barely open. The staff tried their best to give me a room with functioning AC, but by the time we were on the third room, I gave up on asking. The final room was slightly better than unbearable in the heat, and they had kindly upgraded me in their effort to find a room that wasn't dangerously hot. Still, the AC really was only slightly functional. Considering that I was on a business trip in which i had brought 7 other people to the Hague and we were all in that hotel, it was not ideal.
