Akumal, Place of Turtles in Mayan, is located in the heart of the Riviera Maya, just 37 km south of Playa del Carmen and 27 km north of Tulum.

Things to do:
Akumal is a water-lovers' paradise on the beach in front of the longest barrier reef in the Western Hemisphere. Akumal itself is a small but thriving beach community situated on 2 beautiful bays - our condo is on the Half Moon bay which is picturesque, quiet and romantic. You can spend a whole vacation right on Half Moon bay without leaving the area, with a beautiful beach and wonderful little restaurants in walking distance. Akumal has its own small supermarkets, boutiques and several dive shops, one of them just a short walk from Hacienda de la Tortuga, and water sports facilities. Right in the area of Akumal is great snorkeling, scuba diving and deep-sea fishing.
The condo is in walking distance of Yalku Lagoon which is a natural lagoon formation with crystal clear water -- a unique swimming and snorkeling experience. Several world famous Riviera Maya attractions are close by including the Xel Ha (15 minutes ) and Xcaret adventure parks, the towns of Playa del Carmen (1/2 hr), Tulum and Puerto Aventuras (20 min) and of course the renowned Maya archeological sites of Tulum (20 min), Coba (1 hour) and Chichen Itza (2 hrs)- plus many more Maya attractions are close by.
Akumal in the Mayan language means ‘The Place of the Turtles” - sea turtles can be seen year round and their nesting season starts in May, during the months of July and August you can observe turtles nesting and baby turtles hatching. Nightly 'turtle walks' are available and can be arranged with the Akumal Ecological Center.
Akumal has several shops for water-sports including open water diving, cenote/cavern diving (for which the area is world famous), snorkeling/catamaran trips, fishing and more. They all rent equipment and all have certified guides.
Bicycles and golf carts are available for rental. Yoga classes and Spa services are available in the main beach area (1/2 mile from Hacienda de la Tortuga).

How to get around:
Akumal is a small relaxed beach community, a car is nice to go out to our many nearby activities but not necessary if you just want to kick back and explore Akumal. Explore the area on a rental bike or golf cart available nearby.

How to get there:
Guests can fly into the Cancun International Airport or the brand new Tulum International which are an hour to 1.5 hours away from Akumal by modern highway. The most popular methods of reaching Akumal are rental car, private airport shuttle or taxi. We have great recommendations for private driver services at reasonable prices. Public Bus transport is also available.

Our Akumal home is BEACHFRONT with beautiful ocean views. The home features 4 bedrooms - all with OCEAN VIEWS - and each bedroom has it's own bathroom, an air conditioning unit and ceiling fan. Swimming pool beach side with furnished pool deck, eating area and lounge chairs. There is a beachside balcony that runs the length of the house. Nestled in the middle of Half Moon Bay, Akumal, Nikte-ha 4 is a spacious 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo on the second floor. Guests will enjoy the large terrace for endless panoramic views of crystal clear waters of the Caribbean Sea while dining or lounging in the outdoor recliners! Shiny and new, the condo offers lovely updated details, such as custom frescos and high-end furnishings/appliances. Best of all, there are spectacular views from every room.

Welcome to Casa de la Brisa. A private 4 bedroom 3 1/2 bath Villa situated directly on Akumal Bay in Akumal Sur. There is also a private Casita in front of the Villa that has a kitchen, studio living area and full bath that is available for an extra cost if you have more than 10 people coming, or if you have kids that want their own freedom. It's $100 per night for the Casita

This Villa features updated living space with air conditioning, full kitchen, king size beds, a pool table, ping pong table, Wifi, smart TV's, office work space, pool and a wide open million dollar view!

There is a full time maid that cleans Monday through Friday, and she will also do your laundry if you need her to.
