First the place was not easy to find as it was just a littled door in an alley. Once you find it, it was ok. The appartment was not exactly as in the pictures, but it was still great. There was an elevator (thank God!) and the building was pretty quiet. The appartment is located right in the center, 10-minute walk from Plaza España and 200 metres from Gran Via and Chueca Metro Stations, and lots and lots of restaurants and stores. Be aware, you get the code to the appartment only when you do your online check in AND pay a deposit (for damage and stuff) online. If you are not connected and don't have access to email it may be an issue. In my case, i only checked my email once or twice a week (missed the one for deposit obviously) - but it worked out fine in the end.

The hostel was really nice. The location is good, the staff is really welcoming and smiling and the room was nice. I was really surprised to get such a nice room for a really cheap price. The locker with its key are included in the price of the room and there was everything required to sleep comfortably. I really recommend it.

I had booked in this accommodation before the perimeter closure that took place in February. They took care of my reservation keeping it up to then, although they should have the option of refund due to force, and when they were back to book, they were very patient with me and changed everything to the dates I wanted with them. The apartment was IMPECABLE, all ordered and with everything necessary (board, table, dryer, shampoo-gel, towels, towels, tools ...) I only notice here and rather for them, they put silicone tools, The hotel is located in the centre of the city, and the metro is a 3-minute walk from the city centre. There are supermarkets, sites to drink, good restaurants ... All. At all times the SLOWSUITE team was very kind and patient, both at my arrival (the internal tablets were dropped) and at the exit, where they have to store their baggage and they explain how to do so so that you can continue to walk quietly until I loved everything, is it noted much? ¡Well that! I will repeat.

I LIKED. The cleanliness, the location and the spaciousness of the apartment. The apartment was very clean, in fact the appliances seemed new. The location was exceptional, in a pedestrian street full of shops, if you go shopping in Madrid, it is very well located. We were three and the apartment was spacious. Sufficient cabinets. A courtesy cleaning is done every three days. I DID NOT LIKE. The mattresses are somewhat soft, the correct sofa bed. The street is very noisy and at night you can hear a lot of noise. Instead of soundproofing the apartment, the hotel leaves you some earplugs in the room. The fourth floor has the stairs full of boxes, carts...in short they use it as a warehouse, the image is not very good. The portal door was open every day, in such a way that any stranger could access the building (remember that it is a building without a reception). The bedding (although clean) had some tears. We had to buy everything (detergent, dishwasher, sponge, salt, sugar, pepper, oil…..etc, the apartment only made toilet paper available to us. I hope that everything I left has been left for the next guest, although I am very sorry afraid not.

To give a review of Casa Chueca as a guest I would need to explain that it was the last lodging–the 33rd to be exact– after a 40 day challenging Camino DeSantiago and I wanted to spend 4 days in Madrid before returning to my country. I would also have to explain that my plan to do the Camino was all about the beginning and doing it–could i do it?–and I didn’t have a plan for after I did ie how to complete my trip and get home. As a result I found myself exhausted on a train to Madrid trying to find a place where I could stay for four days beginning on a Saturday night. After many phone call inquiries all I had was a good understanding of what it means when they say the word “completa”–complete, full, nothing available. So when my last phone call was answered and after I explain my problem to the person on the other end of the phone and he says, “I am full for tonight but I’m going to find you a place to stay and you can come stay here tomorrow night for the balance of your trip.” My being felt a relief like the fresh cool breeze on that hot sweaty afternoon. So this is how I base my review of Casa Chueca. It all starts with the host and that is Mario and after 12 years working for somebody else he now runs a wonderful boutique hostel that I would give an A+. It is safe. It is clean. It is comfortable. It has amenities that made a difference to me – a small refrigerator, a hot water pot with herbal and caffeinated choices, a spotless toilet and shower room, an innovative use of hardware to dry washables, enough plastic hangers to dry them, a help yourself cabinet, a good quality of air and a simple pleasant unimposing decorative style that felt more like ‘casa’ then corporate. I did not know Chueca and came to discover it is like the West Village used to be in NYC —with great finds. The only open 24 hr Church (St Anton) in Madrid is nearby as is the best tortilla I had in Spain at El Bujo and arguably the best natural food store–Casa Terra. As I discovered, the centrality of Casa Chueca’s location is excellent. I could go to the Prado and the other museums with a 15 minute walk and when I left it was a 25 minute taxi to the airport. Comments made by others in review are noteworthy: It is true that finding the front door of the building was puzzling until i realized there was a sign that was above me–higher than most–“ultreia” i say to pilgrim visitors. There is not an elevator. For me and my 30 pound backpack it was just one more hill on the Camino. And as for the snarky remark that the owner does not live in Casa Chueca, I would say, ‘I didn’t know this until i needed towels and with a call and five minutes time, I had them. As for any comment about noise I can only ask ‘have you lived in a city before?’ and ‘have you spent any time in old parts of European cities?’ If you have then you know the routine and that the deep narrow canyon calles echo all sounds of life. I would end this review as I started by highlighting the person res

This is not a hostel, but rooms. The description can be misleading. Great location for exploring central Madrid, lots of shops, bars, cafes etc in the area, the girl on reception was very helpful, rooms are clean and basic but adequate, comfy beds, good bathroom facilities. Avoid rooms 38 & 39 at the rear as they back onto an alley and we did get some noise early on Friday evening, but was all quiet by 11.00 pm. Also do not book if you struggle with stairs, there is a lift but a bit hit and miss.

The location of the hotel is very central, the location is good, and the price is very good! Attractions are within walking distance of 20 minutes. The hotel's signboard is not very obvious. When navigating past, pay attention to the right door bar of a large wooden door. The characters are very small, similar to the house number. When you find it, you need to ring the doorbell on the 4th floor. The counter will be connected and the door will be opened for people to enter. After entering, you can see the general apartment stairs, the elevator is a little inside, press the 4th floor (the fifth floor in China), you will see the CH sign after you go out, you can check in. The room is a bit smaller and has a fan in summer. The windows open at night, which is cool and does not require air conditioning. We stayed for two nights and it was quiet. There is a huge patio outside the window. Wind comes in slowly at night. It does not need air conditioning. (The hotel is similar to the private house renovation of a certain apartment in the apartment, with complete facilities, which is suitable for a few nights of transitional living.) We are satisfied with our stay!

Very central apartment! Unpretentious but with everything absolutely necessary. To highlight the cleanliness and that our beds were made daily. The heating worked very well and in no time you had the space warm. Quiet and fairly quiet building. The beds were quite comfortable and the pillows too. I'm only going to give two negative points. The first, even if the heating worked perfectly, we don't like to turn it on at night and we miss an extra blanket in the closet. Secondly, the pillows had no protector. The normal thing, and more so in a hotel/apartment, is to put a protective cover between the pillow itself and the outer cover. I did miss that since I find this lack of protection unpleasant. Leaving this aside to say that I would return with my eyes closed!

Can be an extra bed, we are 8 years old and there is no extra bed fee. But this time the hygiene is not good. On the day of the check-in, the bathtub in the room was all sand and stone. It was not cleaned. Waiting for the waiter to open the night bed, I asked for cleaning. In the evening, I went to the small garden to rest, and I ordered a glass of champagne. The waiter actually used a glass of water-filled glass (estimated to be washed and not dried) and poured champagne directly to me, hehe! The next day, the children will sleep more than 7 o'clock in the afternoon. As a result, the children's bed and the quilt are inexplicably wet. Later I went to the front desk and asked them to make better bedding. Very hurt. In such a good location, the rest of the hotel is very good, it is a sanitary situation, it is unacceptable.

We stayed at the H10 Hotel Puerta de Alcalá at the end of May and middle of June. The hotel was very comfortable and well located. We particularly enjoyed the rooftop deck with great views of Madrid and Retiro Park. The rooms were very comfortable, quiet, and clean. On a day trip I mistakenly left my camera bag in a taxi. On my return to the hotel later that day, Juan C. at reception helped me begin communications with the taxi company to try to locate the camera bag. For the next few weeks after I had returned home to Canada, Juan diligently followed up and coordinated with the taxi company, organized payment for retrieval of the camera bag then prepared it for shipment to my home in Canada. He went above and beyond the usual service expected at a hotel and I wanted to point out his excellent assistance. Robert S.

A bonus is the contemporary art collection which reminds you that you are in Madrid and not just any nameless, nice hotel. I love the schluter brass detailing in the bathroom and bedroom walls. I gave this a four-star review based on the fact that it is a BUDGET hotel. We stayed here for three-nights at the beginning of our trip to Spain in September. As a couple, with several large suitcases, it was okay for a few nights, we were not able to unpack much so getting ready each day was a challenge. The hotel is quiet and the beds are comfortable. It's odd that the shower is in the middle of the room (as opposed to being within an enclosed bathroom) so each time we showered the room stayed very humid for a good amount of time. Thankfully, the windows do open and you can control the temperature of your room so this wasn't much of an issue. We sleep with eye masks on, so this wasn't an issue, but right above the bed in our room there was a smoke or CO2 detector that flashed a green light all day and all night. If we didn't have our masks, this would have driven us crazy at night. This hotel isn't in the tourist hot spots, but it's near a main road with stores and restaurants. It's a two-minute walk from a metro station and the Madrid subway is affordable and easy to navigate. Hotel staff were pleasant and helpful.

Marvelously decorated comfortable 2 bedroom apartment; 1 WC with amazing water pressure; lots of towels; kitchen fully equipped for making your own meals (no microwave) with large fridge with freezer, dishwasher (it has a convenience package with one dishwasher tablet, one lilliput capsule dish detergent for hand washing, a cloth, a small dish mop), electric stove top and oven, Nespresso coffee machine (with 4 capsules), tea cattle and tea; Very good WiFi; 2 big LED TV (bedroom and living room, with 2 remotes), Netflix ready (if you have a personal account); A/C with apartment control panel; 2 small balconies. Rooftop bar with heated swimming pool. Restaurant with nice breakfast available (we had our breakfast previously booked and are very glad we did so). We arrived early and had our luggage safe stored by the front desk personnel; same for when we had our check-out (late flight). Super nice, friendly, helpful professional personnel. Superb location, if you are a moderate walker you can walk to just about everywhere. Lots and lots of restaurants (all prices range) within 200m radius (some 24h open). Part of a hostel. Bedroom is small with worn out built in robes. There’s ironing board with no iron. Living area is spacious. TV only has Spanish programs. Kitchen has fridge, electric cooktop, washing machine, dishwasher, pots & fry pan, plates/bowls, kitchen utensils. No dishwashing powder for dishwasher, nor washing machine. One problem is there’s no power point in kitchen area for benchtop electrical appliances. For some reason the electrician didn’t connect any power points next to benchtop. We had to use the kettle, toaster & coffee machine at the power point next to the floor. Even the staff couldn’t explain why. Maybe only in suite 306. Staff has to defrost the fridge as it’s slowly building up ice. 3rd night was a bit noisy from nearby till early hours of the morning not sure from nearby neighbourhood or from hostel. No tea/coffee/milk provided. Stayed 3 nights with no housekeeping done. Good location facing road leading to Plaza Mayor. It’s a very busy street. Not very clean with lots of rubbish & homeless people sleeping around the place. Other streets much cleaner & some with beautiful buildings.

Plaza del Sol and Plaza Mayor can be visited by foot or transit. As well there are shops and restaurants nearby. The hotel is on a higher floor within a secure building and entry is by key code (and buzzed in when you first arrive). It is nicely decorated and kept very clean. The bathroom has a shower with good water pressure and plenty of light. Our room was 2 twin beds with nightstands, lights, and conveniently placed plugs. There was also a desk, TV, and area to hang clothes. Our room looked out to the inner courtyard and was quiet. The air conditioning worked though we found we didn’t need it at that time of year with the ceiling fan sufficing. The Location was excellent but to find the hostel itself was horrible. There was totally no sign to indicate that the hostel is within an office building without any sign of the hostel name and we had walked around the whole plaza and still couldnt find the address no 1. The hostel cannot be contacted with the phone given and thankfully after finding the info counter that we find the place. However, even within the building there is nothing to indicate which level is the hostel as the building info desk was not manned at that time. There were a couple of pickpocket who followed us entered the building pretending to help us and led us going to different floors to confuse us and managed to get away with my passport cover stolen thinking that it must be my wallet. It was a very tiring and frightful experience just locating this hostel due to lack of hostel signboard and communication from the owner despite writing to them for direction.

This review is for 60 balconies iconic. So, a surprise for me, after reserving on booking.com, is that this is an apart hotel. Positives - the location is AMAZING and the room (we had an appt for 3 people) was EXCELLENT . Staff were very helpful. Very clean throughout. Bed was super comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped. A gorgeous breakfast was delivered every morning. Bread, fruit, yogurts, cereals… Negatives - pool (which had workmen upgrading the roof terrace) was freezing. Naturally, not heated, but attached to hose from mains water. Icy. Personally, not a fan of the frosted glass doors/walls to the toilet. We had a large teenager sleeping on the pull down single bed. Was a bit small. Positives far outweigh the negatives. As long as you don’t have your heart set on swimming, you will not regret staying here.

One of the best hostel I've ever been to. The 8-people shared bedroom was BIG, with beds safely distant. The overall cleanliness of the host was good, the atmosphere was great (with sangria parties going on every night downstairs and Madrid tours every morning) but the best part was the staff: super friendly and ready to help you. The Italian girl working at the reception was lovely! She recommended lots of her favourite restaurants and they were so good. Thank you so much!

The room was large, and the two of us did not feel small with the two children. Fill in according to the actual number of people when booking, no extra money is required for check-in. In addition, the parking fee written in the hotel description is actually free of charge. Hotel facilities are good, the beds are particularly comfortable, one small disadvantage is that there is no place to hang clothes and bath towels. It is difficult to dry clothes after washing.

The attention was really wonderful, the boy at the reception was very kind to take care of us, even gave us a map with the places of interest and above all good recommendations to eat!! The hotel is a very comfortable room, a good choice to be in the centre of Madrid!

The room booked more than two months in advance, is not a general pit, with a 7-year-old child, the so-called 100% charge, so that my house price doubled, and later found that directly re-ordering three people are not so much, this also Even if the toilet is shared room 150 euros two days, this is not the hotel, the hostle level of health and layout, the room is small. I just came from a 4 star hotel in Belgium and Germany. I saw this stunned, and the guest house was unable to sleep. It will take two days. Good location, close to the city center, this is an advantage. I also signed three orders for my credit card, the first original price, the second plus children added more than 70 euros, the third 150 euros. I refused to sign at the beginning, and the front desk said it doesn't matter, it won't repeat. I don't know if I will receive it twice in 150 Euros. At this price, there were many better options. Very poor experience.

Oh goodness where to start.... After a couple of weeks of traveling we were ending our trip with a night at the AC Hotel near the airport for ease of travel the next morning. We arrived and met Carmen, she is AMAZING! Bottom line when my friend made the reservation she made it for October 30th, not October 29th, and the hotel was full. After some mad typing and serious looking on the computer Carmen found us the very last room in the hotel. The room was absolutely gorgeous, well appointed, and really comfortable, very sad we were only able to enjoy it for one evening. DON'T USE THE AIRPORT SHUTTLE!!!! So, the next morning, we used the airport shuttle service, OMG! The shuttle driver the next morning if it was on a rating system the star would have to start with a negative. She was unkind, unhelpful, and REALLY RUDE! Be aware when you are using this service you better do your research and know the specific terminal you are flying out of, not the airline, as she will rain hell down on your head. Thank goodness the staff in the hotel was so wonderful, professional, and terrific, couldn't be more pleased and would highly recommend this property.

I have stayed at this hotel a number of times this year when flying to / from Madrid airport. The staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. Check in is always a breeze. I think a chap called Ruben dealt with my check in on my most recent visit. He is a credit to the hotel. The airport shuttle bus is easy and quick. Nothing is ever a problem at this hotel. I look forward to returning at the end of September for another stay following my trip to The States.
