Amazing

The hotel isn't far from Edinburgh Castle, about 5 bus stops away or an 8-pound Uber ride. The environment is really good. It seems to be a hotel associated with an exchange center at the University of Edinburgh, consisting of several three or four-story buildings. My room was in an older building next door, which had premium rooms. The room size was moderate, very clean and tidy, and the shower was comparable to a star-rated hotel in China. Facilities were complete, including a coffee machine. What's particularly worth recommending is the breakfast; it's à la carte! You can choose from classic Scottish breakfast haggis sets, vegetarian haggis sets, and more. It's genuinely excellent; I almost wanted to extend my stay for a couple more days just to try everything, haha.

The top choice for a solo traveler in Edinburgh! First off, the hotel's location is superb. St Giles' Cathedral is right outside, and it's easy to walk everywhere. I managed to walk to all the attractions in Edinburgh during my stay. I was worried the capsule room might be stuffy, but it wasn't at all! It was incredibly hot in the UK these past few days, and Edinburgh was no exception, but the room actually had air conditioning! It was so comfortable at night I even needed a blanket. The common areas are also very convenient. The only slight drawback is that you can't cook, only have simple snacks. The hotel is newly opened, so many facilities are brand new. When I first arrived, I found it a bit easy to get lost with all the doors, but the staff were very friendly. I had waffles at the ground floor restaurant and got a 15% discount, which was a great deal! Highly recommended!

This was a great spot for a weekend. The employees were helpful and professional, they also held on to our bags after we checked out. The room was extremely spacious and clean. Beds/pillows were comfortable, TV was new, and plenty of clean towels. The bathroom was also very nice. New appliances, hot/cold water, clean floors and really nice shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion. The only downside is that it gets stuffy and hot which is not the best for someone with bad allergies. The fan helped too, maybe like a humidifier would do the trick. Anyway, amazing spot and would recommend!

Hotel is in great location. A stone throw away from Waverley train station. Staff were very friendly. WiFi is only available for 30 mins free each day and then you have to pay which for paying nearly £100 for one night seems cheeky. I decided to then pay for it for it to keep cutting out every few minutes. When I went to use the body wash/shampoo, it was mainly just water water but the cleaning staff were very quick to come and fix it.

The room was clean and the facilities were fairly complete, though a bit small. It would be perfectly fine as student accommodation. However, as a commercial rental, the price is quite steep; at around 1200 including tax, the value for money isn't great. Because it's dormitory-style with area doors (each area having five or six rooms) and shared kitchen doors, the sound insulation is poor, so it can get quite noisy. There's often a chorus of loud doors opening and closing, as well as hairdryer noise. The train tracks are right across the street, but it wasn't noisy at night, perhaps due to infrequent service.

The bed was comfortable, not too soft and not too firm. However, the double bed was quite small; it would be fine for two average-sized people, but not for two larger individuals. Gulls calling in the morning could easily wake up light sleepers, but the earplugs provided by the hotel solved that issue. The room was a bit warm, and the window only opened a crack. Borrowing a fan from the front desk helped a lot. The kitchen was very clean and well-equipped with a few knives, a plate or two, and three or four mugs.

The room was clean; however, it was poorly lit, and the dark wall colors did not help at all. Although we chose a room without windows, we did not expect such poor ventilation or effectively none at all. Our room was located on the ground floor, and there was no reception, while the hotel Wi-Fi also did not work downstairs. Soundproofing was very poor, which contributed to a situation that left us quite dissatisfied. While my friend was in the common area trying to get a connection, she was disturbed by guests who were clearly intoxicated and were rude and abusive towards her. When I went to get her, I was also sworn at, and we quickly returned to our room to avoid the situation. She also noticed that several people passing through seemed to be familiar with these guests and did not acknowledgethe ongoing situation. Later in the evening, around 21:00, one guest began crying loudly and there was a heated argument between them and another guest. Due to the poor soundproofing, we could hear everything clearly. We tried contacting reception about the situation, but they did not answer our calls. We felt unsafe leaving the room. Eventually, someone came down and only asked the guests if they were okay, and the situation was left unresolved. The noise continued for quite some time, and our sleep was significantly disturbed. Overall, we felt unsafe staying here.
