Great experience. good location. Comfy bed. Good lighting in he bathroom for selfies and doing makeup & confidence hehe One of the cheaper hotels in the area and very nice. Big room with a nice sitting area and a long desk for working. The staff all seemed attentive. Wow,there was a man at the bar of the hotel who was super friendly and lovely. I just went to ask him a question about the hotel's food service. There is a Trader Joe's across the street, good for getting snacks and food essentials. The man working the bar at the hotel was the one who told me about Trader Joe's. I would happily return to this hotel, even for an extended stay.

This hotel is in a prime location close to everything. My husband and I were able to walk to Navy Pier, CloudGate, Magnificent Mile Shops, Riverwalk, CVS, Whole Foods and so much more. The room was decent. It had a full kitchen complete with all the things you need. I understand people will complain that the rooms were not cleaned daily and there is some wear and tear on the property. But I was there to explore Chicago and not actively search for broken tiles, spider webs, etc....honestly do you go to a friends house and assess what has and has not been fixed. No! Like I said expect some wear and tear. They do clean rooms for those who stay more than 5 nights and you can call the front desk and have them tidy the bathroom, take out the garbages and provide clean towels. We were on the 36th floor and we did not know other people were on the floor with us. That is how quiet it was. Yes you will hear cars honking and sirens but the hotel is downtown. Our A/C unit made an awful noise but we took in so many sites that we were to tired to even care. FYI Homewood Suites please check the A/C unit in room 3604....needs repair. My husband and I were not thrilled by the free breakfast so we avoided it. I'm a nurse and when I see everyone touching the same spoon to scope out eggs and no hand santizer or staff to police that....yep, no thank you, NEXT!! The laundry room was added bonus. We did use it. I did not like the fact it was a coin washer and dryer. I was told by the front desk it would be like 50cents to wash/dry. It actually was $2 per load to wash and then a another $2 per load to dry. It was a problem to get $2 in quarters so that was frustrating and the washing machine actually had a huge pool of water under it and next to it. Safety hazard in my books. So I suggestion the hotel get someone to look into that and consider updating the washer and dryer to like a tap function with a card or something else. All in all I thought the hotel was very good. And Lynette one of the front staff is absolutely amazing. She gave us the best suggestions for restaurants and attractions to see. She really is a ray of sunshine and just a genuinely nice person. There is a pool on the 40th floor; more families with small children use it. So keep that in mind and it's not that big of a pool. Also there is a gym so if you need to pump iron go for it.

PROS; Terrific staff! Everyone I encountered was courteous, respectful and helpful. I did not interact with the evening staff, so I can't speak to their level of service. Secure building- you need a room key to travel past the lobby. Small marketplace shop in the lobby for food and sundries. Starbucks is just off the hallway behind the check in. Rooms were clean, spacious and well appointed. Bed's comfortable and linens of good quality. Magnifying mirror provided as well as standard bathroom mirror. Located close to MANY shopping and restaurant venues. CONS; There is a busy fire station close by so best to ask for a room on a side of the hotel farthest from the station to minimize noise. Higher floors are best if you're sound sensitive. The Starbucks is a mini store so it can get quite crowded. Best to call in your order ahead of time and go pick up.

Room was not ready at check in and staff did not care. There was a line of 15 other people whose room also wasn’t ready. They said they’d call but never did so we stopped by 90 mins post checkin and got our room. Customer service severely lacking! Tons of other hotels around— I will take my business elsewhere to someone who values my business. It seems like norm to not have the room ready which is crazy since checkin is already at 4.

The location is excellent, right in the heart of the gorgeous mile of the famous MICHIGAN Avenue. Marriott Hotel, LOUNGE is available for members on the second floor, breakfast is plentiful and can be ordered. The parking lot does not need to be fixed at the hotel, there are many public parking lots around, the price is less than half of the hotel parking. The hotel is within walking distance of all of Chicago's famous attractions and is ideal for families.

The hotel has a good location, just beside Michigan Avenue, and convenient to all major attractions in Chicago. The hotel environment is also very good. It is quiet and clean. The space is large enough. There is sufficient hot water supply, but there is no hot water to drink. We brought our own heat The most distinctive feature of the kettle for boiling water is the hotel’s robots, which can deliver water and daily necessities, which are available on demand, great! We did not have breakfast at the hotel, but there are many restaurants around, which are very convenient. The waiters in the hotel are very good and the service is very warm and thoughtful. Our trip felt very good, the price was affordable and the process was comfortable!

The location is next to the Netherland Theatre, a few hundred meters away from the Millennium Park. The location is good. The large 34 square meter room is spacious. Prepaid is good. If you pay by credit card debit after you leave the store, the information is lagging behind. Hotel prices vary from day to day, and the same room may double the price difference. Don't spend money. Got locked out of my room and asked for an extra key. I received one without ever having been asked for my ID. Thank you, Hampton Inn for keeping the security of your guests a priority. Left message with housekeeping for TP. Never got it. Mentioned it at the front desk and they proceed to crawl under their desk and give me two rolls then and there. Awkward and inappropriate. The staff eats at all hours at the front desk and walked out of the elevator to someone getting their makeup done. Are we working or on break? I stayed here for the “Loyola Discount.” By far the worst experience ever. Not cheap at all and could’ve definitely stayed at a much better hotel for what I paid here. Not to mention $40 per night valet fee. No thank you. Then I called today for the billing issue. I don’t take lightly to someone billing me almost $2000 twice. Sorry, we don’t have manager on duty. You’re a hotel. How is there not a manager on duty at all times?! LAST TIME I EVER ATAY HERE.

The hotel is very clean and tidy. The biggest feature of the room is the floor-to-ceiling windows. The scenery outside the window is very clear. Although there is no bustling Michigan Avenue, it is still good! There is a bar on the 18th floor of the hotel, not big. The hotel has a restaurant on the left side of the hotel entrance, named Somerset, in the room can also book this restaurant in the room dinning, about twenty or thirty minutes to deliver the meal to the room. I really like the bathroom's minimalist wash suit, which is white tea, especially fragrant and comfortable. Shopping, dining and entertainment are nearby. Not far from there are Chinese restaurants, such as Imperial Lamian, Old Sichuan, MingHin Cuisine, Shanghai Terrance, which are just a few minutes from Uber. Royal chef and old Sichuan are very popular! It is also 10 minutes from the hotel to the famous scenic spot Michigan Avenue, which is also close to Navy Pier and Millennium Park. The fly in the ointment is that the sound insulation in the hotel is not good, the guests from the opposite side of the room can hear the opening of the door, but the overall is good!

I had a major issue with IHG with my reservation. I was charged a wrong amount and had a reservation for the wrong date (all by IHG). I called the hotel today and talked to Alexandria (Manager) and she went above and beyond my expectations. Not only was she nice, polite, energetic to help and sincere, but she was able to help with in minutes. She listened to my problem, empathized with me and then promised to call me back after she called IHG herself! Yea an actual human helping a human and not passing the buck. When does that ever happen? NEVER. So having her say she would take care of it was fantastic! She called me back in about 10 minutes and the problem was OVER, yes OVER! handled and done. I can't thank you enough Alexandria. Seriously, thank you for handling this for me. Your my Rockstar ( The Bon Jovi of Hotel Managers, lol!) Jason C.

I had booked a last minute trip to Chicago's Virgin Hotel to spend some time with my daughters. From the first minute we walked in the service was impeccable. This continued throughout our stay everytime we walked in or out of the hotel (many times). The location was perfect to shops, restaurants, Riverwalk, beautiful architecture, and many other visual attractions. The only downfall to our visit was it was Covid season and many restrictions to places we could go to watch the football game and/or eat as the restaurants were all closed in the hotel. That was a safety issue for the guests so it was appreciated they weren't open. The one thing I'd recommend is for them to have a list of what was open nearby and what was offered (dine-in, delivery, take out, etc.). We were able to find places on our own, but it would have saved us the time from searching/calling around. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel!!

During our recent family trip to Chicago we stayed at the Embassy Suites Downtown for 5 nights. We booked 2 High Floor City View, Premier Suites (we liked the idea of having some snacks in our room since they had not concierge level) . First off because of an issue with ”overbooking”, we were given 2 regular suites on lower floors (without the premium snacks). Yet they wanted to charge us the same rate, only after we pointed out the room difference did they issue a credit. Then we asked if we could at least have the snack trays sent up, mine showed up after midnight and my in-laws did not receive one. Next we were told we would actually have to check out by 11am and recheck in to get our correct rooms. We were a little concerned about being able to shower and get changed as we had plans during the day and reservations at the Signature Room that night. Finally I asked to see the manager (Christian), who frankly was awesome!! First he told us he would make sure our rooms would be prioritized and we would be able to get into our new rooms in plenty of time for our dinner plans, he then proceeded to offer us a credit for the inconvenience (it wasn't huge by any means but he tried), and lastly as we were waiting in the lobby he bought all 5 of us a drink at the bar). He made sure both my brother in-law and I had his card, but alas he can't be everywhere at once and we just didn't want to call him for every little issue (he was clearly VERY busy at one point we saw him sans suit coat with work gloves on so I think he was just swamped). So long story short here are the highlights/lowlights of the rest of our stay: Charged wrong rate for 2 nights (more time at the front desk), had to call or message everyday for towels (basically one wash cloth at check in), snack tray and water only replenished once (after we called), they only did maid service on the 4th night of your stay and that included trash service (yes I understand we all have staffing issues, but no trash???). Room was a bit beat up (especially for the price point), their was dirt on the curtains, the bath tub had clearly seen better days, no water pressure and lastly the A/C was awful (on the hottest week of the summer). In the last few years I have found myself shying away from Hilton properties, this stay did not help. But again I just want to say I thought Christian (the manager) really tried to make things right, he just couldn't be everywhere.

the hotel is in the middle of the tourist area, near Millennium park, close to everything. The hotel service is good, the room for this price has everything you need, a coffee machine, glasses, writing materials, all toiletries, even toothpaste and a toothbrush. but as for me, the design of the rooms is not very cozy and the hotel itself is very old. despite the new furniture, freshly painted walls, windows and doors straight from the last century, which generally spoils the impression. but for unpretentious tourists or those who need to spend the night, I recommend the hotel.

This hotel was great in proximity to Wrigley Field. It has an old, historic feel with modern touches. The room was clean and beds very comfortable. Rooms are quiet, albeit dated. The only downfall was parking to check in, and then parking to stay. You'll likely have to use the parking ramp behind the hotel unless you're lucky enough to find street parking: if you enter the alley immediately after the hotel, you'll need to do a Y turn to get into the ramp. One thing I'd like to see changed is that they don't fill the fridge with beverages (no room for late-night pizza leftovers), and a microwave in the room would have been nice. If you're looking for a room with all the amenities of a ”chain” hotel, this isn't it. It's basic necessities. I would stay again. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
