The hotel is big and very industrial. Booked a 2 bedroom grand suite. The communal areas are very big and well furnished. The master bedroom is a good size but the 2nd bedroom is very cramped for twin beds. The kitchen is well equipped but as an apartment for 4 only had crockery and glasses for 2.
The area is very grubby as it is in the heart of the car workshops.
The communal areas in the hotel are very grubby and look dirty and rundown except for the reception area.
Would not use again and in my opinion £400 for 2 nights was excessive.

-15 minutes walk to the embankment, 10 minutes to the metro;

-a strange system with air conditioning. You need to talk to the reception about how many degrees you need to set the air conditioner to. It is impossible to change the temperature on your own. The service was fine. The room was fine and ok for the price. It looks better in the pictures. The shower worked but the shower head fell off so I had to use the hose as a shower. The water pressure was good and the temperature control work well for a nice hot or warm shower to your preference but the bathroom was very small with a toilet next to the shower and no partition or curtain between them. Everything would get wet during a shower. The TV did not work. It was within walking distance to coffee shops and the markets at the port, but did not feel like a very safe place to walk at night due to the dimly lit alleys. I would probably not choose to stay there again but it was fine for one night in an emergency situation. The front desk at night was personable but conversation was difficult without the use of translation apps on my phone.SOLD OUT

What can I say about the city of Izmir? You can go there or not. I also went to see the clock tower, which is a small tower. The big elevator is just a residential elevator. There is not much point in making a special trip there. This hotel is in the new district. There are not many places to eat. It looks like a regular Hilton Garden Inn. I paid almost 200 euros for 1 room, so I expected a nice room, but I did not get this and the smell coming from outside is cat food smells very bad. Great stay, very comfortable and clean, it's obvious that it's an older hotel but looks to be well taken care of. The water DOES have a weird smell to it sometimes but i don't think it has anything to with the hotel, it's just Izmir... Very good hotel, clean and good location, five minutes walk from the subway, five minutes from the train station, and the tram station is about five to eight minutes. Although the hotel is not in the scenic area, the public transportation in the scenic area is very convenient. And the hotel staff was very friendly, we had to catch the plane at 7 am, breakfast started at 7:30, after asking the staff the night before, they had breakfast time to 7 am and prepared sandwiches for us.
