We had an amazing stay at this resort. The staff were great and very helpful. They offered a shuttle to and from the pier which was great. They had scooter located right at the hotel to rent which is definitely they way to get around and explore koh Tao, don’t try to get around by vehicle it takes too long. The resort itself was amazing, breakfast was great and because its location up on the hill it made for some really awesome sunset pictures. The restaurant closes at 3 but honestly there are so many great restaurants in town that you will want to head there for dinner. The location might be the best part as koh Tao is a pretty busy little island and so it is nice to get out of the chaos so you can relax a bit in peace. Overall this resort was an amazing experience and I would definitely stay here again. Don’t listen to some of the other reviews, I was skeptical about staying here after I had read some of the reviews but I was pleasantly surprised once we got to the resort.FromTRY 2,786

By far, one of the best hotels I've stayed in my travels, breakfast was amazing and you can request dishes to be prepared for you like omelettes, pancakes and such, lunch and dinner were delicious and very flavorful, drinks at pool bar were very good and varied.
The staff was so nice, helpful and welcoming, I really loved them.
I had a Thai massage which helped me with the pain and ”knots” that I had from previous injuries, very professional.

Simple Life As the name suggests, there were all the best things that were not too luxurious. The room was big and very affordable. The pool is not big, but it was good. Bans! Been in and out this place throughout the years since 2015 and kept coming back wether I dive or just having a chill trip in koh tao. Bans, was by far MY FAV for many reasons. Location is great, big resorts, i am in love with pool with cafe (behind the lake) and their outdoor shower + amenities! I enjoy my morning dips, my painting session, my coffee and books afternoon. Just this time round, it was just a tad different feelings and experience. Mostly are still great but theres confusion of the room booked and the actual room itself (i reckon website needs to be updated and clearer details) and a minor incident where I have to pay additional 1 night just because the reception didn’t remember that Ive paid which partly my fault for not asking receipt and or prove of payment. Also, Bans used to be having such a great team member in service but ive came across some that’s quite cold and impatient unfortunately this time round unfortunately. sad 😢 and last thing my room floor were sandy meaning the room cleaning isnt that immaculate. The location is near the end of the beach, so it's a bit of a walk to get to the ”main area”, but the distance is easily walked along the beach. This is also somewhat of a blessing, as it reduces the noise level at night. We stayed in an AC bungalow, which was nice. However, the shower had very poor water pressure, and there are no curtains on the windows, despite the fact that the other bungalows and rooms can look directly in on you... We had to find cardboard to cover them...
They have a restaurant on site, which is priced higher than some of the restaurants in the main area, but *most* of the food is good (not great), and the staff are really nice, so we ate there relatively often (as it was better than walking back and forth to the main area).
Despite some relatively minor annoyances, we'd happily stay there again, depending on the price.FromTRY 2,013

You will have amazing views from the room and the truth is that the staff is very attentive and always eager to help.
What I didn't like is that the photos do not match reality and the Risort is still under construction, it has great potential but it has many things to improve, the bed is not comfortable at all for the price paid, the decoration of the room It is very basic, it does not make you feel like you are in a superior Risort which is what you see in the photos, you will have the views, but do not expect great comforts, then it is built on a cliff and the hill to go to the exit of the Telita hotel hahahaha I find this difficult for older people, even though I believe that if it were home they have a golf cart in which they took our suitcases that could be used**** to help the elderly.
Another good thing and I recommend yes or yes is taking the boat from the hotel to the small island next door, it is 3 minutes but it is an incredible place that you cannot miss if you go, they also offer the option of renting a motorcycle, which is super good because you already pick it up from the hotel and when you leave you can leave it right there. That saves you the trip to another motorcycle agency of which there are a thousand!
In short, I recommend it because the stay, if I compare it overall, was good but don't expect great luxuries.FromTRY 2,792

I would not recommend staying at Sairee Hut Resort.
The place is extremely run down. Our room had no hot water, the shower drain was clogged and overflowing, and mosquitoes filled the room, making it uncomfortable to sleep.
However, what bothered me most was the resort’s treatment of animals. They keep wild birds confined in small cages out front, with barely any room to move, let alone fly. I’m not sure if this is cultural or meant for tourist entertainment since the birds can talk, but whatever the reason, it is cruel! Birds are meant to be free, not locked in cages for display. These birds were kept in the cages for the entire duration of our stay, and I can only imagine how long they’ve been trapped there.
Overall, this resort was disappointing, both in its facilities and ethics. I would not stay here again.FromTRY 2,555

One minus, but it is the same for all hotels on this line - there were no sun loungers. Everyone, like dogs, lies on towels. Uncomfortable and hard.

Came with my girlfriend on a diving trip for 6 nights at the koh Tao cabana. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Take advantage of the free paddle boards and kayaks if you can. Super nice area on the beach all reserved for this resort. The breakfast was also very nice and loved the Thai options as well as the western food options. The rooms can be individual cabanas on a hillside so it is a little bit of a walk up but this didn’t bother us. We would stay here again and very happy with our experience. This family villa was a great location to enjoy the beach front. The sand was soft and beautiful. The private pool was larger than expected and satisfying to swim in. The room was well designed. My family was very happy staying here. When our AC wasn’t cool enough the staff fixed it. The tub water was warm but not hot. If I stayed more time I would have asked for that to be fixed. We started in a private room in the hostel and it was great! The room was large and the air conditioning worked well. There was a desk and a lovely little balcony with a table and chairs. A safe in the room and the internet worked well. The room and bathroom was very clean and it had a large size refrigerator. The hostel staff were very friendly and had English people working there. Stayed here in the chalet for two nights and really enjoyed our stay. The staff are super friendly and helpful with getting taxis in and out of town. The beach is really clean and the water was nice and clear for snorkeling.
Food at the bar was very nice and reasonably priced.
One thing to note is if you rent a bike and you're unexperienced take it VERY slow on the hills getting to the resort especially at night they can be dangerous.

Well, when I searched for a room I set the app filter for ac, but filter works even if just one type of rooms in hotel have ac, and photos of different types of rooms presented alltogether.
So I got a room with 2 noisy fans instead of ac, that was peculiar experience and I'm not gonna repeat it 😆
And the most disappointing thing is the absence of fridge, but ok, that's maybe the lesson for me to be more watchful

Great villa, so peaceful and quiet but just a short ride away from the action. They give you a private phone to call and they can take you round the island (as part of the package) and answer your questions and help with anything you need. Food delivery options were amazing so even though you’re not super close to restaurants they can bring it to you. Clean with everything you need, coffee machine, microwave all kitchen utensils. Breakfast is made in the room by myself. There are free eggs, cereals, milk, macaroni, etc., at least enough for two days. There is a tatami, which can be converted into a bed and needs to communicate with the boss, but they can't speak Chinese. The hotel has a very steep road with more than ten meters in the middle of the mountain. But the service is very good, highly recommended for honeymoon or something!SOLD OUT

Many years ago, I couldn't forget Nanyuan, and I finally had the opportunity to come again. I was a little hesitant when I read the comments before, and the XC information said there would be a power outage, but luckily I didn’t give up. If the environment can be rated as six stars, I will rate it six stars. The South Park is so beautiful, especially when there is no one in the early morning and evening, you can swim quietly with the beautiful fishes. Of course, the rooms are not comparable to high-star hotels, but the facilities are all available.
The room is still powered all day long, and the air conditioner can always be turned on.
The food and beverages at the resort are a bit more expensive in Thailand, but it is acceptable. In contrast, drinks and water are a bit more expensive.
The attitude of the service staff is also good.

Of course, the rooms look nicer in the photos, but overall it's a decent hotel. The staff is friendly, sociable, and ready to help. The rooms are quite clean. In the evenings, sometimes groups of foreigners were a bit noisy (it's a hostel after all), but not for long. It's about 5 minutes to the beach, but Sairee is not suitable for swimming, it's very shallow. It's also about 5 minutes to all the cafes. But the nearest 7-11 is not so good, everything there is more expensive than in others.SOLD OUT

We stayed in a room right on the beach for two nights. The location is great, it didn't take us long to get from the pier. The room was clean and the staff was super friendly. There was also laundry service.

A wonderful atmospheric hotel! In the very tourist center of Koh Tao, on the most popular street, from the balcony on the second floor you can see the sea, to the beach - just cross the street and cafe, to the pier on foot 20 minutes leisurely! Very beautiful room, panoramic windows, large balcony overlooking the sea, garden. There were three of us in a double room, we hoped that they would give us an extra bed for our daughter (15 years old), but we were given a triple room at no extra charge! At the reception they organized a trip around the island the next day! Many thanks for everything!SOLD OUT

The sense of service is obviously weaker than that of Koh Samui, and the breakfast is very haha... Only the first day I had breakfast, but I didn’t eat it for the next few days~ There is a triple room directly, which is more suitable for children. Overall, it's bearable for 3-4 days.
Keep in mind that there are a lot of insects and terrible centipedes that crawl into the room - this is very scary for children.

Clean dorm room and toilets with decent facilities. Friendly staff. Nice that they have free shuttle services too. Convenient location very near Chalok Baan Kao Bay and Freedom Beach, good restaurants, massage shops and Seven Eleven. Only negative impression was witnessing a mynah pick off rice grains from the serving spoon during the breakfast buffet. First we booked, then we read the reviews and got a little scared. But apparently the bad reviews were written by people who were offended by life, cocksuckers. The place is very beautiful, fantastic. It is here that you feel a connection with nature, silence and tranquility. We were not very lucky with the weather, there were strong waves, we were not able to swim in the sea. But the view of the sea from the terrace of the room is mesmerizing. All those who wrote about the bad road to the hotel, you are wrong. The road is excellent, a little steep, with a concrete surface. I recommend everyone to visit this place! Facilities: lack of gym, can only regard mountain climbing as exercise... The hotel does not provide motorcycles, you can only rent them yourself, but you can't move without a motorcycle
Sanitation: Not bad, there are occasionally small insects and geckos, but the impact is not big
Environment: How to describe the environment, very primitive, it requires hard-core people with big hearts to stay. If the elderly and children want to go out, they have to call a taxi, which is relatively troublesome
There is a big slope outside the hotel, so be careful when riding a motorcycle. If you don't ride a motorcycle, it will be very hard to climb up directly.

I stayed 5 days in The blue villa in Over The Moon. The location is great on a hillside overlooking the main bay and treetops. The Blue villa is decorated in a very nice and tasteful way with all modern amenities available. All is kept well and maintained and clean. Breakfast can be ordered by phone in restaurants nearby. We paid for an upgrade from a Sea Balcony Room to an Ocean Balcony Room, but the view of the beach was very poor. Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend paying for the upgrade. The hotel offers several activities like kayaking. They help you rent a scooter since the hotel is located far from town. There is a transfer service to the city center three times a day. Cape Shark Villas is a complex of villas with hotel service (daily cleaning, free scheduled transfer to the pier, food ordering to the room).
We stayed at C1 Deluxe Villa (with a pool), 6 people. The accommodation was in two buildings - the main villa C1 (with two bedrooms, a gazebo, a veranda and a pool) and the guest house C1 nearby. The villa is located next to the reception - convenient when moving around the island by taxi or by hotel transfer.
You can walk down to the sea in 3-5 minutes, but the climb back is quite steep. If you travel by bike, then the location on the mountain has only advantages!
Excellent views, quiet and amazing privacy with nature! A squirrel, a crab, a small snake and a charming large gecko lived next to us.
At first, such a neighborhood was a little shocking, but in 3 days we became friends with them. No need to be afraid - these are additional emotions and memories. Overall, we liked the villa, it was comfortable, clean and at the same time very colorful. Wherever you look, there is a great angle for a photo shoot.
We will be happy to stay here next time.

Despite the fact that the hotel has been recently renovated it feels like it needs to be renovated again.
The bedroom is ok, but the bathroom... The shower is not separated from the main bathroom and everything is always in the water.
The light in the room is disgusting and dark. The air conditioning system is terribly noisy and old and the air is too damp and cold.
The main building is next to the pool and during work hours there is a loud sound that can be heard in the room.

There is so much to say but I will try to be as concise as possible. Ecotao Lodge is a piece of heaven. The hotel is superb, the whole idea that is an ecological establishment run by a family it makes it all worthwhile. The hotel is simple and yet mesmerising. It is very green, the swimming pool area is breathtaking with views to nature and the sea. My husband and I went to Koh Tao for 3 days so we booked two nights at Ecotao Lodge. We decided to treat ourselves so we went for the suite. When we were taken to our room, we spent at least 30 minutes just sitting there in the balcony and bed, looking at the sea. The view was one of the best I have had the opportunity to see. The room was immaculate and with all the commodities one need. We were provided with hand made shower gel, shampoo and conditioner! It is incredible that this hotel has been open only since December 2019. Yves, the owner, runs the hotel along with his friend and staff. What a wonderful man, passionate about the service he offers, always with a smile. Chris, his friend, always there greeting you in the mornings also with a genuine interest to make sure you are well. The staff are so lovely, smiling all the time with the Thai attitude that is so warm about them. As I said, we were there for two nights... Initially that is. After our first night, we were so in love with the place, the atmosphere and the service that we decided to extend our stay for 4 more nights. I could have stayed even more to be honest but sadly I had to carry on with my travelling plans. Yves, Chris and his staff made us feel like a family! I can't wait to go back next year, even for a few days to stay in this little paradise. Bt the way... The food they serve!!!! OMG!!! It is succulent, balanced, fresh... It is just the best. Loved so many dishes I tried but I couldn't let a day pass without having the spring rolls! Hehehehe. We stayed at the hotel in mid-May, it is not the season, there were few guests at the hotel. The hotel provides a free transfer from and to the ferry. It is not long to get to the hotel, just cross the island. The hotel is located on a steep cliff, at the top there are several buildings, and bungalows on the slope, in several tiers. The climb is quite steep, you do not go to your room from the beach - all movement is along endless stairs. Even lower there is a public road along the sea, along which sometimes a lonely motorcycle passes, behind it, hanging over the sea, is the hotel pool, from which there is a path to the site with an entrance to the sea. However, during our stay this site was not working, on the path to it there was a blockage: there was construction work there, they were also carried out by the pool. The bar by the pool was closed, water was pouring from the shower, but there was no shower head, but the toilet was functioning! If you walk 300 m along the road to the right and go down to the sea - there will be a small bay where you can sunbathe and swim. Right from the shore there is a large coral reef, so the bay serves as a starting point for snorkeling. The room is clean, quite old in furniture and design, but the TV is new, air conditioning and refrigerator work well. The bathroom is not very big, the plumbing has already outlived its usefulness, and there is very little light. The room itself is a good size and an even larger loggia with a couple of chairs, which together with the panoramic windows creates the feeling of a very spacious room. The view from the loggia to the sea is simply fantastic, because you are at a great height! And we got a corner room, the view opened in two directions! Of the disadvantages: a resort hotel, but they forgot about drying towels and clothes. You have to dry things on chairs. An attempt to hang shorts to dry on the railing ended with them being searched for the next morning in the thickets of bushes under the hotel. A hotel employee helped, a plus in the column about the staff's work. There is no general Wi-Fi network and you need to register in each zone: if you are near the router, everything works fine, but there are a lot of dead zones. Our room was like this, we had mobile internet, but the big new TV didn't work, because it received a signal via Wi-Fi, or rather, it didn't receive it. Of course, the staff couldn't solve the problem with the non-working TV. The hotel restaurant is very nice, with all-round glazing and a gorgeous view on three sides. The food was worse, a minimal buffet plus eggs in different variations to order. On the first day in the morning there were a little more people than usual, apparently a small group of German tourists was leaving, there was some chopped mango on the buffet, which ran out with them. We asked when they would bring more, and received the answer that there would be no more mango. We had an emotional conversation with the hostess in the restaurant: mango was suddenly found... During the other two breakfasts it didn't appear at all: apparently, during our first breakfast, supplies for several days were finished. The pancakes were undercooked, the coffee and tea were from a barrel, you just can't drink them! Hot dishes are minimal and they don't bring new ones. We had dinner at the restaurant of the neighboring hotel (View Point Resort), it is located on the seashore, to the left along the road. The restaurant has quite reasonable prices, restaurant quality and service, works for everyone, is marked on Google maps (The Cape). On the same road, 200 m away, there is a small family store where you can buy water, beer, chips, etc. Prices are like in a local 7-Eleven, and in a local 7-Eleven they are a third higher than on the mainland. If you go this way during the day, then after passing through the hotel you will go to the shore and moving to the left along the beach, stones, and through the Happy Monk bar, and then along the footbridge towards solid land, you will find yourself in a local village around a fairly large bay with hotels and diving centers. There are several ATMs, a real 7-Eleven and many small local restaurants. This path can only be done during the day, but not at night. Amazing hotel! The best!!!))) We have been to many places in 1.5 months in Thailand but we have never received such warm and enthusiastic emotions anywhere else! Everything is at the highest level, the staff is wonderful! Bans, was by far MY FAV for many reasons. Location is great, big resorts, i am in love with pool with cafe (behind the lake) and their outdoor shower + amenities! I enjoy my morning dips, my painting session, my coffee and books afternoon. Just this time round, it was just a tad different feelings and experience. Mostly are still great but theres confusion of the room booked and the actual room itself (i reckon website needs to be updated and clearer details) and a minor incident where I have to pay additional 1 night just because the reception didn’t remember that Ive paid which partly my fault for not asking receipt and or prove of payment. Also, Bans used to be having such a great team member in service but ive came across some that’s quite cold and impatient unfortunately this time round unfortunately. sad 😢 and last thing my room floor were sandy meaning the room cleaning isnt that immaculate. Hopefully, next time I go back “home” this feeling was just such indifference and bans will still be me fav.

Lots of people come for breakfast, but there is only one coffee machine, which is managed by a very unfriendly madam. Hotelier, buy a couple more coffee machines and stop torturing guests!
