*I've been to many hotels, from basic to super luxurious & it's hard to find any that serve a decent Nasi Lemak but here (although not great) still i'd say is the best among other hotels that i've stayed at previously

- Just one. The qibla direction within the room is hidden. If any muslim guests are wondering where it is, it's in the drawer at the door where the laundry bag & stuffs are at (this is the first time EVER that i find it situated at such an awkward place 😆) This seems trivial but please consider putting it where it's easily visible (like the rest of the hotels). Because i've spent quite some time searching for it, only to find it when i was already about to check out from the hotel.
Luckily i prayed at the surau during my stay.

The location is nice, by the Balok Beach. The pool is huge with beautiful landscape but it was close during the month of Ramadhan due to maintenance. Timurbay Seafront is like an AirBnB style accommodation, not a typical hotel or a service apartment. A variety of different hosts rent out different apartments so the quality will differ. My specific review is for: A Junior Suite by Subhome, booked thru Trip.Com & Within Earth. Thanks to Mr Soaib, he allowed us to early checked in at around 1pm and upgrade my son room to pool view and facing the ocean. Response time through whatsapp and call very efficient.
Limited time check-in from 3 to 10 pm only. And check-out from 9am to 12pm only. You'll get fine for RM100/30 minutes for late check-out. Need to consider in providing amenities such tooth brush, mineral water, etc.
Parking was okay, the security is good. Lots of local restaurant nearby. Will come again when we're in Kuantan. SOLD OUT

I had terible experience stay under this management. Beds full of bugs, toilet were VERY dirty. Ask the management to clean up the unit but the management changed my room, after change room, same problem occur, toilet still dirty, FLUSH BROKEN, can't flush. Only bugs dissapear in the second unit. Please check carefully before you check in. I dont understand they actively open these unit for rental. you better check carefully ya. My recent stay at Timur Bay in Kuantan was truly a delightful experience. The unit felt very cosy and well put together, with everything I needed conveniently available throughout my stay. It was clean, comfortable, and perfectly adequate for my family of five.
All tools and equipment provided in the unit were functional, clean, and efficient, which made our stay even more pleasant. The overall environment was neat and inviting, and I felt a genuine sense of ease during our time there. It was clear that attention had been given to the details, and it showed.
The facilities surrounding the apartment were also great. It's just a short walk to the beach, where I had the peaceful pleasure of enjoying the morning sunrise while reading the Quran and sipping on hot chocolate—a perfect start to the day. The pool was clean and well-maintained, and the sea nearby is lovely for both swimming and jogging.
Security was tight and reassuring, with access to most areas requiring a resident card. This added a sense of safety, especially with kids around. For daily necessities, TMG Express and various local shops, restaurants, and warungs are conveniently located just outside the main gate.
The unit itself is ideally positioned to enjoy both sunrise and sunset views, making it even more special. Although the drive to Kuantan town and shopping malls takes about 20–30 minutes depending on traffic, for a holiday or leisure trip, Timor Bay is an excellent choice. For business trips, you may want to consider the commute.

The main reason was that the swimming pool, which was exclusive to guests during my previous visit, was open to outside visitors this time. we are 6 pax staying at the forest semi detached villa with private pool. the resort is indeed old already and need proper maintenance. insects are plenty in the jungle so repellent is a must to bring. hotel cleanliness is not up to my expectation - for the price we paid for this 3d2n trip. the private pool is nice, but needs a proper cleaning at the pool water. staff attitude is great. hotel breakfast is slightly above average as well, considering the location at cherating where food options are rather limited dining out.FromVND 3,114,023

Overall it's good
Good environment. It was hot but there were no mosquitoes in the main area.
The private beach is large and has a bay. It is safe for children to play.
The swimming pool lifeguard is very responsible and the children can play in the swimming pool by themselves without any worries.
Two issues hope to improve
1. Living in area G, the bass vibrations will continue until all activities end at 11 o'clock in the evening. Early bedtime is not friendly
2. The beach restaurant is not worth the trip. The burgers the kids eat are not as good as the ones in the main restaurant. The desserts are good.SOLD OUT

Place was great, very relaxing
Best thing was definitely the fooood. There wasn't much food around the area but the food at the resort was really amazing and the price wasn't super expensive
The activities was a little less, quite a few stuff needs to be paid, like board game and even volleyball, but ping pong, cycling and archery was free
If you're looking for somewhere out of the distractions, then maybe it's here, but if u wanna do some activities, hmmmm would rate it a 6/10, ended up watching netflix on laptop

The homestay was beautiful, and the moment we opened the balcony, we were greeted with a stunning sea view. We arrived in the afternoon, and the tide was low at that time. We saw some tourists walking along the beach, so we joined them for a stroll. The studio unit located at the lower level, easy access to car park, but still have to use stairs/lift to go to the designated parking at upper level. Check out during peak hours and not easy to get the lift access. The agent called and sent message to remind the check out time. Good and lucky they consider a little bit late check out due to the heavy traffic at lift as well as parking area. Facilities: B&Bs remodeled by ordinary residents, the decoration is relatively simple, old, no air conditioning, and fans. It is cooler in the morning and evening. No drinking water is provided, and you can cook with your own ingredients.
Environment: very close to the sea, the sea is very clean, but there are no entertainment facilities, simply watching the sea or swimming is OK, you can bring your own equipment to snorkel.

had a pleasant stay overall, but the pool could definitely be improved. When we arrived, the staff were still in the middle of cleaning the pool. Even after they were done, the water was still a bit cloudy and didn’t look fully clean. This is a wonderful location to stay in Kuantan. It's right in the middle of town and just a short drive to most places. The car porch can fit two cars, the living room is spacious and clean.
