Though the decor might be a decade old, this is still a five-star hotel through and through, with a distinct 'old money' charm. The room attendant was incredibly friendly and attentive, consistently bringing us water and asking if we needed anything or if any items needed changing. The front desk staff, seeing that rooms were available, kindly arranged a river view room for us. There's an underground parking garage, and an elevator right downstairs provides direct access to Xiamen's public transport network, making it convenient to reach any part of the city. The pier is just 1.5 km away; you can easily grab a shared bike downstairs and cycle there. Hawan Park is 1.1 km away, offering beautiful views of the Lujiang River and stunning riverside sunsets. After watching the sunset, you can continue cycling and quickly reach Zhongshan Road. Extremely satisfied, I'll definitely be back!

The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of BinBei. Great restaurants and night life around. Very convenient location. The staff was very friendly and spoke very good English. Check in and out was easy. The only negative point of the experience was the room itself. We reserved as Superior King room, for 514元 (714元 with breakfast for two). The King Room only had a Queen bed. The wallpaper was peeling, the carpets felt old and a little dirty. And the electrical outlets were VERY inconvenient. Only one outlet on the whole bedside wall and it was pretty far away from the bed. So I gave that one to my girlfriend for her phone and I had to plug my phone in on the other side of the room on the desk. I know it’s an old hotel but it’s time to update and renovate the rooms. For the price we paid, the room felt like a bit of a disappointment. Overall it was a very pleasant experience and the hotel itself is beautiful and in a great location. Just the room left a little to be desired. It was nice to experience such an iconic Xiamen institution but for us, in the future, we’ll stay somewhere else.

Went to Xiamen with a friend and chose the Kempinski, a well-established five-star hotel that truly never disappoints. Even though it opened in 2012, both its location and facilities are still excellent. It's right by the river, and the front desk staff were incredibly enthusiastic, upgrading us from a city view room to a river view room and even giving us a small gift bag with Xiamen local specialties. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The hotel's gym and pool are fantastic, and the swimming coaches and lifeguards are all handsome young men with amazing physiques. Breakfast was plentiful, and the service was warm. Overall, it was a great stay.

Five-star review! My stay at the Hampton by Hilton Xiamen City Plaza was excellent. The room was comfortable and spotless, and the service was professional and welcoming. What truly impressed me was forgetting to get my invoice after checking out. I called the front desk, and they quickly and efficiently helped me issue an electronic invoice, resolving my concern. This high-quality service, even after departure, truly made me feel cared for and reassured. Highly recommend!

First off, this isn't about the staff; their work was perfectly fine, their attitudes and everything were great. The environment was impeccable, and the location was excellent, with Gulangyu Island directly across from our sea-view room. If it hadn't been for the room upgrade, I probably wouldn't have found any issues with this stay. I originally booked a Deluxe Sea View Room, but the front desk said it was fully booked. The only remaining room was directly facing the elevator. To get away from the elevator, an Executive Room was the only option, so I chose to upgrade. The Executive Room came with many extra perks (see picture), but seriously, are these so-called 'services' really designed with customer needs in mind? Honestly, if you didn't offer these services, I wouldn't even think about it. But if you're going to offer them, be generous and don't be so stingy. You offer an 80-yuan laundry voucher that can't be stacked, and you can only use 80 yuan per day. For two people, that's not even enough to wash two t-shirts. If a guest only stays for one night, they can't even enjoy this service because clothes have to be dropped off before 8 AM (before check-in) and aren't ready until 6 PM the next evening (check-out is at 12 PM). So, the housekeeping staff directly refused to take our dirty laundry. Free two-hour meeting room, free printing, free phone calls, free computer use—wow! So many freebies!!! Seriously, who uses these nowadays? Then there's the 50-yuan hotel car voucher. A single ride starts at 260 yuan, even if you're going less than 5 km, and it's only for destinations within the island. Isn't giving out this 50-yuan voucher just annoying? Oh, and there's a 128-yuan massage voucher, for massages that start at 400 yuan. Either you generously offer a proper, genuinely useful free service that everyone would use, like a free airport transfer, a free laundry service, or a free massage, etc., or just don't offer anything at all. People who can afford executive floors aren't looking for these petty discounts. But it's really quite irritating to list so many things that 99% of people won't use. And your executive lounge – hardly anyone goes up there anyway. The juices are all concentrated; they're not even willing to offer freshly squeezed. They claim it's available 'all day'. When checking out, I thought since it was a weekend and occupancy was high, I didn't want to inconvenience subsequent guests. Even though I could have extended my check-out, I decided not to, and just planned to go to the executive lounge to wait for my high-speed train for about an hour after regular check-out. I was refused. There's nothing in the executive lounge during the day anyway, just a few bottles of water. I wasn't some regular floor guest trying to sneak in; why couldn't I even sit in the executive lounge for a bit???? So then I decided to just extend my check-out, and they reluctantly granted it, citing high occupancy. I was speechless. I stayed for three nights and only went to the 26th floor once. I really don't understand who benefits from all these 'rules' and 'freebies' you've set up. For guests planning to travel here, setting aside these 'additional services' of the executive floor, everything else is pretty good. If you book an executive floor, remember to check in before 6 PM on the first day, and when checking out, strongly insist on a late check-out until 2 PM! Oh, and if you order takeout, it's best to have the delivery rider wait for you in the lobby and pick it up yourself. Otherwise, they won't be allowed into the lobby and will put your food in a locker, which then requires you to register, log in, enter a password, personal information, and a bunch of other messy stuff first. Their robots only deliver the hotel's own food.

A surprisingly good choice for my layover in Xiamen! The location is excellent, less than a twenty-minute drive directly to Zengcuo'an. The hotel also boasts a strong artistic ambiance; the lobby sculptures and in-room art pieces are tastefully selected. The view from the hotel is fantastic too. Attending a concert in Xiamen, I chose the Wyndham for its proximity to the Olympic Sports Center. A taxi ride was about 30 yuan, but to my pleasant surprise, the hotel offered a shuttle service! This saved me the awkwardness of battling crowds for a taxi after the concert. The hotel is a bit older, but the facilities are well-maintained, and the mattress was incredibly comfortable. It's a small pity I didn't get to experience the beautiful pool. A huge thanks to Kelly at the front desk for upgrading me to a room with a fantastic view – I had a panoramic vista of Wuyuan Bay! 🥹

The experience was absolutely fantastic. A special shout-out to the hotel for the thoughtful wristband room keys for the kids; they were absolutely thrilled throughout our three-night stay. The spacious 1.45-meter twin beds were incredibly comfortable. The balcony was perfect for enjoying the view and convenient for drying clothes. Kids playing in the water also had plenty of shade, and the pool staying open until 10 PM was a huge bonus – the children had a blast and the water was spotless. The beach is just across the road, and directly outside the hotel is the lively Sunshine Town. In my opinion, the comfort and overall experience here definitely outshine Qixingwan.

This hotel is right next to Xinglin Bay Hotel, by Xinglin Bridge. The environment is lovely, right by the sea. As soon as you enter the room and open the curtains, you get a beautiful sea view. It was stunning, and I even saw the sunrise in the morning! We went for a swim in the pool around 3 PM, and then enjoyed the hot springs in the evening, which were very comfortable. After the hot springs, you can even do a steam bath. In the evening, there's a complimentary late-night noodle supper, which tasted great. The next morning, after a buffet breakfast, we checked out and headed home. The breakfast had a good variety, including many Xiamen snacks. Overall, it was a fantastic experience with great value for money. I'll definitely be back for the hot springs next time.

The carpet and walls in the hallways need renovation and an AC in that area would be nice. My room was quite far away from the elevator, which was quite inconvenient. Unfortunately, the adults pool wasn’t “working” when I wanted to use it and the sauna was out of service as well. Other than that, I really enjoyed my stay.

During my stay, the service from Vivi at the front desk was exceptionally thoughtful and professional – she truly deserves a special shout-out! From patiently explaining the hotel facilities and proactively recommending convenient local routes during check-in, to keenly noticing my need for a different pillow height during my stay and promptly arranging the suitable bedding, every detail showed genuine care. She was always highly responsive and followed up efficiently on subsequent requests for room cleaning. Her attitude throughout was warm yet perfectly appropriate, making the entire stay incredibly comfortable and smooth. I'm sincerely grateful for Vivi's excellent service and commend the hotel for having such a professional front desk team member!

Zhongshan Road Area Xiamen|3.13km from city center
The hotel is nicely decorated and spotlessly clean, with an excellent location right near Xiamen's Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street. Despite being situated behind the commercial street, it's surprisingly quiet; no noise from the street disturbed my sleep at night. There's a slight uphill slope on the approach to the hotel. For taxi drop-offs, you can tell the driver to go to 'Nijia Restaurant' next door, and they can bring you directly to the hotel entrance. Its location also makes it very convenient to take a taxi to Xiamen's various attractions. The only minor drawback was that the shower pressure wasn't very strong, but it was manageable. Overall, I would definitely recommend it!

Specifically flew to Xiamen for Wang Leehom's concert, the ”best place.” Choosing to stay at the Hyatt Regency Wuyuan Bay was an incredibly wise decision! The hotel thoughtfully arranged a complimentary shuttle bus service between the hotel and the Olympic Sports Center concert venue. The shuttle could drive directly into the venue, saving us the hassle of waiting for taxis. It was incredibly convenient! On both the way there and back, Leehom's songs were playing on a loop in the bus, and free water was provided when we boarded after the concert. In the evening, the room also received complimentary late-night snacks, accompanied by a handwritten card, showing immense sincerity and providing great emotional value! I had stayed at Hyatt Regency Wuyuan Bay before for a business trip, but this experience truly exceeded all expectations! Will definitely come again!

Such a great transit hotel. Arrived Xiamen at 10pm and and before that we already contact the hotel through wechat for a pickup service. They pickup us by van which is so convenience since we had 4 big luggages with us. And our flight next morning was easy as well. You can refer their airport transfer schedule & wait at lobby. Def coming back if I need to transit at Xiamen in the future.

SM City Square Area Xiamen|2.73km from city center
Welcome drink: I opted for Beiping Machine's German Wheat Beer, which was crisp and very enjoyable. Minibar: The local 'Dan Hua Su' (egg pastry) was fantastic – wonderfully flaky, aromatic, and perfectly crisp. The front desk service was incredibly attentive and responsive. The room's layout felt spacious and well-designed with a great sense of depth, and the high ceilings added to the comfortable feel. The bed and pillows were clean and very comfortable for a good night's sleep. While I usually bring my own pillow, I learned that I could have easily called the front desk to request a different style if needed. Guests receive a discount on food and beverages at the downstairs deck bar when using their room key, making it a great spot for both a quiet solo drink or a lively gathering. The art bookstore on the third floor also hosted events, and the public spaces were thoughtfully curated.

♥️About Gulangyu Island Huge banyan trees that block out the sun Can be seen everywhere Prunus hornbeams Pink, white, red, rose-red Each one is gorgeous Lazy cats Reluctant but welcoming Stone steps Can go up or down Seasons Can be sunny or rainy Expressing feelings in the mountains and seas Embracing each other in human feelings May the world Be gentle to you Experienced the butler service of star-rated hotels, but compared with the butler Xiaolei here, they are far worse. When you get off the boat, there are parasols handed over and ice-cold winter melon tea. On such a hot day, he kept helping to push the boxes and also explained. When you arrived at the hotel, you were greeted with ice towels and super delicious butterfly cakes and tea. Please see the pictures for the beautiful scenery. The key is the breakfast. It is not only exquisite, but also really delicious. If you come to Gulangyu again, you must definitely stay at this hotel. It refreshed my understanding of homestays
