We enjoyed an incredible stay at the Swiss Grand in Xiamen. The location is excellent, offering beautiful views of Gulangyu from the bedroom. It is also within walking distance of Zhongshan Lu where there are plenty of shops and restaurants. The 25 metre pool is fantastic. Breakfast buffet is plentiful and delicious! The Chinese restaurant downstairs is absolutely delicious, offering a innovative interpretations of traditional dishes. While the staff are helpful and courteous, there is a lot of room for improvement. In particular, I asked for help to get the ferry schedule and ferry tickets to Gulangyu and was told to go to the ferry terminal.

This hotel was fantastic, especially for the price. We were here in the off-season and I'm not sure what the normal price is, but we paid almost 1/3 of the price for a hotel of equivalent quantity just last week in Shanghai. The breakfast buffet was great, they have lots of options and have chefs preparing noodle and congee bowls on request. I highly recommend the Japanese restaurant here as well, some of the best meals we had were there. The pictures did not show it, but our room also included a large bathtub which was a big plus. We were working while we were here and there were plenty of comfortable places to work. My only complaint is that they allow smoking in the lobby and in rooms close to ours; this seems to be the case in other places we've stayed in China, but was difficult coming from the USA

As a traveler navigating unfamiliar territory, encountering an angelic presence can make all the difference. During my stay at the Wyndham Grand Plaza, I was blessed to meet Angel ia member of the housekeeping staff. Navigating a foreign land where the language barrier can seem insurmountable, Angel effortlessly bridged the gap, guiding me through the intricacies of the hotel with grace and patience. Despite my inability to speak Chinese, she went above and beyond, ensuring that every aspect of my stay was not only comfortable but truly exceptional. From arranging spa appointments to going the extra mile on her day off to assist with transportation through DIDI, her dedication to ensuring my needs were met was nothing short of extraordinary. Her willingness to extend herself beyond the call of duty exemplifies the epitome of hospitality. Without hesitation, I wholeheartedly recommend the Wyndham Grand Plaza to any traveler seeking not only luxurious accommodations but also the presence of angels who embody the true spirit of hospitality. My experience was elevated by the presence of this remarkable individual, and for that, I am eternally grateful.

The bathroom was my dream! The hotel boasts a stunning location, with amazing views. The amenities provided by the hotel were top-notch, including a gorgeous outdoor pool, a sauna, and a steam room. Additionally, there is a shopping center located right outside the hotel, which features popular establishments such as Starbucks and KFC. The bed was comfortable, and we slept well at night. The air conditioning was cold enough! The breakfast was decent, and we were fairly satisfied with it, at least it wasn’t bad. You can also order delivery to the hotel, and a robot will bring it to your room, which was really convenient. Foreigners without a local phone number can ask the front desk for the hotel’s phone number. The laundry service was also great—if you don’t come to dry your clothes in time, the staff will help dry them for you as long as you write it on the designated card and hang it up. The only downside was that we were a bit shocked when we first arrived at the hotel, as the exterior didn’t quite match the photos online. The entrance is on a sloped alley, making parking inconvenient. Another downside was that the shower head wasn’t big enough.

I recently stayed in this hotel room and was pleasantly surprised by how cozy and functional the space was. The bed was spacious and comfortable, with plenty of pillows for a good night's sleep. The room had a modern design, featuring clean lines and a calm color palette that made it feel both warm and professional. There was a nice work desk with a bright lamp, which made it easy to get things done in the evening. The chair was ergonomic and comfortable for long periods. I also appreciated the sitting area by the window with a comfy armchair and small table—great for relaxing or enjoying a cup of coffee. The lighting throughout the room was soft and warm, creating a comfortable ambiance. There was also ample storage space, and the room stayed tidy even with my luggage out. One minor downside was that the curtains didn’t completely block out the light, which might bother light sleepers. But overall, the room was clean, quiet, and well-equipped for both work and rest.

We travelled from Melbourne to walk in the footsteps of my husband's ancestors on Gulangyu for his 50th birthday. Humble Hall made the experience spectacular. It is an oasis of calm, exceptional service. Understated, modest but so generous. We cannot imagine having stayed anywhere else. We traversed around the whole island on foot which was amazing but we dined almost exclusively at HH, there was simply no reason not to just soak HH in for every moment we weren't walking and exploring.
