We arrived pretty late, around 1 AM, and the owner was so kind – he personally met us at the parking lot, helped us with our bags, and showed us to our room. The place was spotless, and the atmosphere was lovely. The guesthouse was beautifully adorned with plants and flowers everywhere, and there was even a charming swing, perfect for taking pictures. The next day, even though we woke up late, around noon, they still had delicious rice noodles available for us, which were absolutely amazing! We ended up staying for two days. We had originally planned to stay longer, but the weather turned bad and it rained non-stop, so we decided to head back home. A great bonus: if you want to try the local flower cakes, the owner can help you contact his friend to have them delivered – and they're really good! All in all, we were very happy with our stay.

Wonderful first time trip to Yunnan. The inn is clean and have all the amenities I need. The staff are very friendly and helpful, speedy assistance when I request for something. The breakfast mixian is yummy. The lady boss provides excellent service. She helped to book all my major transportation to n fro airport, visits to the snow mountain and musical play and even the purchase of tickets. She'll share info of where are the places worth going in Lijiang ancient city. The various shops I went, to take cultural costumes photo and purchase of silver accessories and to eat are recommended by her as well. She even helped me to book the mini tour for my shangri-la trip in between. You can basically ask her anything you need advise for travel in Yunnan. Very glad that I've chosen this place and I'll stay here again if I do come back to Lijiang.

If you're looking to stay in Shuhe, this is the place. It felt less like a tourist trip and more like living there. The guesthouse has its own botanical garden with so many plants – holly ferns, begonias, succulents, hydrangeas, taro – a plant lover's dream! They also have a vegetable garden with peppers, eggplants, lettuce, scallions, and herbs. The auntie uses these to make chili sauce, jams, and salads. Outside the restaurant window, there's a tree with peanuts on it, and little squirrels would eat there while a cat watched from below. Since the owner is from Singapore, besides local rice noodles, the menu also features some international flavors like Bak Kut Teh and spaghetti bolognese. Breakfast is a delightful mix of Chinese and Western dishes, including steamed banana cake, pancakes, and malt porridge – absolutely delicious! The auntie would thoroughly clean our room after we left. Everyone at the guesthouse was so friendly. I absolutely loved it here!

This place is an absolute gem and the courtyard with the tea tables and benches are such a nice arrangement for guests to relax and hv a good chat over a cup of hot chinese tea. The owner and his property manager have been absolutely helpful and kind, even going to the extent of getting a motor tricycle to help transport our luggage out of the ancient city area where we can get a Didi to the railway station in the wee hours of the morning. This was a great help as i had hurt my knee and was on crutches. Thank you very much to both the owner and his worker. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting this place.

I chose a six-person dorm, and at around 20-something yuan a night, it felt incredibly cheap. The bunk beds were solid and didn't wobble, offering great value for money. The common areas were also lovely, with a very artistic decor. What I appreciated most was that both the rooms and public areas were smoke-free, with a designated smoking area on the balcony by the entrance. Plus, they don't allow pets like cats or dogs.

The inn has a fantastic atmosphere, and the courtyard is quiet and comfortable. The room was spotlessly clean, the bedding was cozy, and the facilities were complete. The owner was incredibly welcoming, patiently offering sightseeing tips and thoughtfully sharing important notes for exploring the old town. The location is excellent, making it very convenient for getting around and shopping. Overall, the stay was wonderful. This inn is definitely my top choice when visiting Lijiang; highly recommended!

This place is BEAUTIFUL! The location is a 4.5 only because you have to climb up 2 slopes and a flight of stairs - of which the wonderful staff will help with your bags and luggages. We stayed here as part of a tour and came back again a few days later. The staff were sweet to tell us to message them before arrival so they can pick us (our luggages) up for us. Love the room design where the back of the bed is a table for the bathroom area! there is a hot tub, and full toiletries and a humidifier and body lotion for he dry weather. We were offered hot milk too for the night! Also, we arrived quite late when the kitchen was closing. however we could order our dinner from the staff via WeChat and they prepared and reheated it for us after. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND trying the stir fried Brinjal. it was so good we had it twice! The hotel is also a nice 15min walk away from ShuHe old town, which we feel is so nice to walk an explore. it's got all the Yunnan specialties but does not feel too touristy and noisy as compared to Dali. It also has more to see than Shaxi old town :)

Everything about this hotel was absolutely perfect; it truly was the most comfortable stay I've ever had, feeling just like home. Although the room was a bit small, it's understandable given that the design is based on the framework of an ancient building. The service, food, and bedding more than made up for the room size. The complimentary breakfast and afternoon tea included in the package were incredibly exquisite, and we even received their own brand of shower gel as a small gift when we left. The roads in the ancient town are difficult to navigate, but the staff never once let us carry our luggage from the moment we arrived at the town entrance until the day we departed – they were incredibly patient and responsible. I also felt unwell due to altitude sickness on the day we arrived, and the in-room oxygen system at night really helped me rest comfortably. We even received local specialty mooncakes as a gift because it was the Mid-Autumn Festival. After checking the prices of other An Yu branches, this one in Lijiang Ancient Town truly offers the best value for money and is the most comfortable hotel.

I set a basic room type. After I arrived at the store, I found that their room was very beautiful. I decisively added money to upgrade the parent-child room type. The overall stay experience exceeded expectations. The decoration of the homestay is very local. The room lighting and hygiene are in place. The bedding is comfortable and sleeps peacefully. The owner's service is intimate and meticulous, the attitude is very good, the surrounding attractions are very convenient, the environment is quiet and not noisy, whether it is a short trip or a relaxing residence is very suitable, it is recommended.

Since I checked in on my birthday, they prepared birthday decorations, gave me a birthday cake, and wrote a hand-written birthday card—such a heartwarming touch. Great value for money, and I would definitely stay here again.

The houses are all single-family, with a very old-fashioned feel, reminiscent of an ancient town. The room was spacious, and we were given mung bean soup upon check-in. You can stroll around the hotel and take photos there. The breakfast was really good, served a la carte. While it looked ordinary, it was the best we had at any hotel on this trip. The front desk lady was also very nice, enthusiastically helping us carry our suitcases, which weighed over 70 pounds, both when we checked in and out! It was truly wonderful!

You can walk to the main street of Baisha Ancient Town. Honestly, I rarely post reviews—but this time I really felt like I had to, because this hotel was the highlight of my family trip to Yunnan. From the moment we entered the hotel gate, we were already amazed. The place is even more beautiful in real life than in the photos. The staff member who communicated with us via WeChat was incredibly helpful—from arranging our transfer from the station to the hotel, to accommodating my dietary restrictions as a Muslim. They kindly prepared a special breakfast for us: rice noodles with egg, along with sweet potatoes, corn, and boiled eggs. What made it even more special was that everything was cooked by a very warm grandmother. Despite the language barrier, we could truly feel the warmth and love in her cooking. The cabin we booked was absolutely perfect. It had a spacious yard, a hot tub, and a terrace with a table and chairs—great for dining or simply spending time together with family. Stepping inside the cabin was even more impressive: a large bed, lots of natural light, and equipped with smart home devices. One important detail for us was the bathroom—it had a bidet and a fully smart toilet with remote control. Since the temperature in Lijiang varies greatly between day and night, we were very grateful that the cabin had both floor heating and room heating. The bedroom also featured a large projector, and above it, a sunroof that can be opened—perfect for stargazing at night. It truly exceeded all our expectations. The hotel area is also next to a very aesthetic café with a stunning view called Yuntian Cafe. For those traveling with family, this place is perfect—the area is spacious and great for kids to explore nature. If you want to go out for meals, Baisha Ancient Town is just a few kilometers away. What I will remember the most is the kindness of the staff. Everyone was incredibly helpful and friendly, always doing their best to accommodate every request. Please never change—your hospitality feels just like being with family. Next time we visit Lijiang, we will definitely stay here again without hesitation.

Staying at this luxurious wilderness hotel at the foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain was the most unexpectedly wonderful and healing experience of our Lijiang trip. As soon as we opened the panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows in our room, the entire Jade Dragon Snow Mountain came into full view. The clouds drifted across the peaks, a sight both gentle and majestic. The hotel boasts a sprawling lawn, with winding wooden boardwalks leading towards the distant mountains. Lambs roamed freely, and every photo we took of the mountain scenery looked like it belonged in a magazine – truly an ideal wilderness retreat. Even more impressive than the breathtaking scenery was the incredibly thoughtful service that made us feel right at home. I accidentally spilled milk tea and stained the front desk, but the staff cleaned it up meticulously without a word of complaint. When we returned in heavy rain, a dedicated staff member walked us all the way to our car under an umbrella and back to the hotel. When my child suffered from altitude sickness, oxygen tanks were delivered multiple times throughout the night, available instantly whenever we called. I even left my facial cleanser behind in a rush when checking out, and the hotel proactively shipped it to our next hotel free of charge. With the romantic setting of the snowy mountain and the vast lawn, combined with such delicate and warm hospitality, there was no sense of unfamiliar distance. It truly felt like having a gentle home at the foot of the snow-capped mountain.

I stayed for three consecutive nights at the Snow Mountain Palace Hot Spring Villa Hotel. The service was excellent; every time I requested a car, it arrived within a minute. We enjoyed the hot spring every evening, and the water was incredibly comfortable, leaving me feeling refreshed and invigorated. The rice noodles and hotpot served in the evening were fantastic; I fell asleep immediately after returning to my room. During the day, the surroundings were beautiful and perfect for photos, with the snow-capped mountains as a backdrop, making it feel like I was living right in them. The airport transfer service was also superb; the driver was very professional, arriving at 10 PM and showing no signs of fatigue, actively helping with our luggage. I randomly picked this B&B for my trip to Lijiang Ancient Town, and the location is fantastic! It's right next to the Big Water Wheel, so exploring the old town is super convenient. The 3rd-floor rooftop garden offers panoramic views of the entire ancient town, with its charming layered tile roofs – it's absolutely stunning. On a clear day, you can even catch the golden sunlight on the mountains, with sun rays sparkling on the rooftops and vibrant flowers and plants all around. The courtyard is filled with rattan chairs and small tea tables, making it a truly relaxing spot to sit and unwind. The rooms are built around the courtyard, giving it a really well-designed feel, and there's even a dedicated hot spring bathing area – the owner clearly put a lot of thought into it! Breakfast was delicious, with congee or rice noodles and some cold dishes, which was very satisfying. Inside the courtyard, there's also a sunken communal lounge area and some charming small garden designs. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit!

Took a vacation with my daughter who just started her career, and the experience was simply perfection. I was a bit worried after booking, but after contacting the hotel, Emily added me on WeChat. I shared all my requests there, and true to her word, every single one was fulfilled upon arrival. Thumbs up! 👍 The hotel's location is top-notch; step out the north gate and you're right in Lijiang Ancient Town—so convenient. The ambiance is also exceptional, featuring a Naxi-style courtyard with beautifully arranged flowers, trees, and greenery. Best of all, it's huge! My daughter went to the gym on the first day and went for a morning jog right around the hotel grounds on the second. The photographer for the travel photoshoot was extremely skilled, and with picturesque views everywhere, the photos turned out stunningly photogenic. So happy! Cleanliness, service, dining, and all other standard aspects completely live up to the InterContinental brand.

It’s really near Lijiang old town, just across the street. The road can get crowded at night though, but a very strategic location if you love to walk around, it is walkable to the black dragon pool although abit far maybe feels further due to the heat. You can also go underground for shopping but u might get lost HAHAHAHA so just be mindful, there is no signal for maps underground, personally would recommend walking above the ground or entering from the same underground door to exit at another, same route everyday.

The selection is extensive and includes quite a few local Lijiang snacks, so you can taste authentic Yunnan flavors right at the hotel without having to venture out to the old town streets. The live noodle station is a great touch—I highly recommend getting your noodles with a soft-boiled egg, it's tender, smooth, and super delicious! The overall cleanliness of the hotel is top-notch; both the public areas and the rooms are spotless. The biggest bonus is the location—it's very close to Lijiang Ancient Town, making getting around and exploring the old town super convenient. After staying out late taking photos and having fun, I requested a late check-out. The front desk manager was incredibly warm and thoughtful, arranging a generous extension for me. The service is exceptionally customer-centric and humanized. Staying here for a trip to Lijiang is worry-free and comfortable. Highly recommend!

Choosing this hotel was honestly the luckiest decision of our entire trip to Yunnan!!! The moment we walked in, we were greeted by the staff's exceptional professionalism and warmth, instantly setting the ultimate vacation mood. Even better, since they had availability, the lovely receptionist generously upgraded us to a Mountain View King Room. The room and balcony are both huge—with the sheer curtains drawn, you could hear the gentle rustling of leaves in the breeze, and just thinking about it brings back such wonderful memories. The weather wasn't great during those few days, so we hadn't expected to see Jade Dragon Snow Mountain at all. But when we woke up the next morning and opened the door—there it was, in all its majestic glory, standing right before our eyes. If you know, you know, that moment was so touching 🥲 Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, you are my goddess! There are also lots of little animals at the hotel; they're gentle, lively, and so much fun. If our itinerary hadn't been so tight, I really would have loved to stay another three or four days and try out all the restaurants at the hotel. I will definitely be back next time!

Yulong Snow Mountain Scenic Area Lijiang|27.07km from city center
Pros: Located right inside the Yulong Snow Mountain scenic area, it's perfect for travelers with parents or anyone who prefers a leisurely pace rather than a rushed ”hardcore sightseeing” trip. We stayed for three nights, and taking a taxi from the hotel to the snow mountain takes just 10 minutes. However, breakfast starts after 7:00 AM. You can either watch the sunrise over the golden mountain at the hotel first, have breakfast, and then head to the scenic area—I'd recommend booking a ropeway ticket for 8:00 or 9:00 AM. I booked the 7:00 AM slot, so I ended up watching the golden sunrise from the shuttle bus and missed breakfast entirely. If the weather is good, you can catch the sunrise hitting the golden peak (as shown in the photo), but it's not guaranteed. It also depends on the room location assigned by the hotel; you could be on the second or first floor, with obstructed or unobstructed views. Room layout: The space is quite comfortable. The service staff were generally okay, but it was a bit overwhelming during the Mid-Autumn Festival, and they couldn't quite keep up. Cons: The food was abysmal. It's hard to imagine a 3,000-yuan-per-night room having such terrible dining options. The breakfast bread wasn't homemade; they actually served store-bought Sam's Club waffles, which were uniformly awful. Even a Atour X hotel costing two or three hundred yuan has freshly made waffles (though average in taste, at least they're made on the spot). The rice noodle rolls (changfen) were terrible; although freshly made, the batter was too pasty and lacked the right chewy texture. All in all, not a single breakfast item tasted good. I went at 7:00 AM to ask if they had soy milk, and sorry, they didn't. Happy Hour: It was downright stingy. To put it nicely, they called them Yunnan specialty snacks; to put it bluntly, it was just some roasted potatoes, roasted chickpea jelly (jidoufen), and erkuai (rice cakes) wrapped with shredded carrots and cucumbers. The erkuai was so tough I couldn't even bite through it—absolutely awful—and they were too cheap to even offer cold rice noodles (liangjuanfen). Then there were just some popcorn and prawn crackers. The most expensive item was probably the Poruda (Burmese-style dessert)? As for the desserts, God knows where they got them from; they weren't even fully thawed and were served rock-hard like ice cubes. The only edible thing was the egg tart? When I asked the staff, they said it was made by the Grand Hyatt downstairs, though who knows if that's true. Lunch and Dinner: Don't even get me started. It was expensive and unpalatable, and they don't cater to solo portions. Why on earth would they cook a huge platter for just one person? Is this the culinary level expected from a 3,000-yuan hotel? Cleanliness: One time I ran into the cleaning guy, and instead of taking away my used coffee cups to replace them with freshly sanitized ones, he actually asked me if I wanted them washed right there? Also, the bathroom lacks proper ventilation and frequently had a bad smell—they could at least put out some aromatherapy diffuser to freshen the air. Oh, right, they also included a complimentary spa. Good grief, what kind of layout has you lying on a spa bed with a light shining directly into your eyes? The masseuse actually told me it couldn't be turned off and just handed me an eye mask. And as for the disposable underwear—I really don't even want to talk about it. Would a 3,000-yuan hotel really use such trashy disposable underwear? The spa was terrible, terrible, terrible! The spa at Anantara Xishuangbanna is so much more relaxing (though I haven't been anywhere else, to be fair). One more thing I just remembered: one evening when we went to the restaurant for dinner, the staff claimed they only had one live fish left for the day, and if we didn't eat it today, they wouldn't have any for the next few days because suppliers don't make deliveries during the Mid-Autumn Festival, practically pressuring us to order it. I almost believed them at the time. What supplier wouldn't want to make money during the Mid-Autumn Festival? When we ordered fish for dinner the very next day, they still had live fish! I just don't get it. Summary: The only pro is that if the weather is good, you can catch the sunrise over the golden peak, and its close proximity to the scenic area lets you sleep in. Other than that, absolutely no pros.

The highlight is definitely a 5-star experience for a 3-star price! It's an old hotel, but it still delivers. This is genuinely a government-rated five-star hotel. The service is warm and friendly, and the staff's expressions show they've been well-trained. The room facilities are a bit dated. However, with the foundation of 5-star standard hardware, the environment and rooms are still clean. The desk lacks power outlets and charging facilities. The toilet seat doesn't have a soft-close function, nor does it offer intelligent heating or flushing. But the showers, a standard for 5-star hotels, are truly comfortable – great water pressure, and hot water comes on instantly. The restaurant still has a grand atmosphere, and the buffet is extensive, maintaining its 5-star glory. The hotel occupies a massive area, and the parking lot is huge. During the National Day holiday, there weren't many cars, indicating fewer tourists. This could be due to a couple of reasons: first, it's a bit far from the ancient city; second, some facilities and decor truly need to keep up with the times. There was a queue for electric car charging stations, and the elevators were too few and slow, making it feel a little less prestigious than its rating suggests. However, the room rates are indeed very affordable. It's a matter of choosing based on your own needs.

This hotel far exceeded my expectations – it's absolutely perfect! I highly recommend everyone stay here! I only found out upon check-in that this is Lijiang's second five-star hotel, and from the moment I arrived, everything was incredibly thoughtful and satisfying, from the room's furnishings, hot water, and central air conditioning to the attentive service (a staff member guided me from the lobby all the way to my room) and even the food deliveries right to my door! The hotel has a huge central courtyard, perfect for bringing the baby to see the goldfish and soak up the sun – so relaxing! 🥰 Plus, the price was surprisingly affordable when we stayed during New Year's Day, even cheaper than surrounding B&Bs. And I didn't expect the breakfast to be so rich and varied, with both Chinese and Western options, plus local specialties like rice noodles, congee, and Rubing cheese. As a Yunnanese, I thoroughly enjoyed it! 😋 The hotel is also very close to Black Dragon Pool Park and Shuhe Ancient Town. Don't miss out on this hidden gem of a hotel!

Upon arrival, as the room wasn't ready, the front desk proactively offered afternoon tea. Inside the room, they had also prepared Yunnan's special flower cakes, making us first-time visitors to Lijiang feel right at home. The room was spacious and quiet, ensuring a very comfortable sleep. This has been the most satisfying B&B I've ever stayed in. The facilities are excellent, the service is attentive, and responses are quick. They offer free high-speed rail pickup, luggage transfer, welcome afternoon tea, and bedtime milk. When we found a drain odor in our room, the staff checked it out and upgraded us immediately, resolving the issue promptly. The toiletries are also high-end, and you can even take home the slippers, bath towels, and regular towels. Aside from the slight noise issue and a limited breakfast selection, everything else was perfect. I would definitely choose Po Xin Yun She again next time.

The most satisfying hotel of our Yunnan trip! Absolutely fantastic value for money! It's located in Wenhai Village, very close to the snow-capped mountains. It was absolutely beautiful in the morning as the mist cleared. The hotel offers many activities. In the morning, we joined the plant hunter activity and even made canvas bags with the plants we collected – it was so meaningful. Our guide, Xiaobai, was smart and professional, incredibly friendly to both people and dogs. Waking up to see three dogs playing at the foot of the snowy mountains was truly heartwarming. Staying here for two days was incredibly relaxing for both body and mind, but it still felt like we didn't have enough time. Next time, I plan to come during the off-peak season and stay for four days to fully experience everything! One more thing: the hotel's food was delicious! We had all our meals at the hotel for two days. The codonopsis chicken soup was absolutely incredible; I'm still thinking about the taste now.

This hotel is close to Zhongyi Market, and even though it's within the ancient city walls, they called me two days in advance to let me know about a convenient parking and pick-up spot for guests, which was really helpful with luggage. It's a great balance – you get to enjoy the ancient city's vibrancy while still having a relatively quiet and convenient stay. The butler service was excellent; they were very responsive to all our needs. This particular LUX* property is split into two locations. Our accommodation was a few hundred meters from the dining area, but when it wasn't busy, we could pre-order our meals and the staff would escort us there. The dining options weren't extensive, but they were very refined. The room also had a humidifier, which was essential given the dry climate. I really enjoyed my stay here and would definitely come back and recommend it to friends.

I booked this hotel specifically for the views. The photos on the website are real and you can see Yulong mountain from the terrace (weather permitting). The owner and staff were very helpful, friendly and accommodating. The rooms were perfect and aesthetically beautiful. The price is very reasonable for what you are getting. Also, the hotel is located further away from the main streets (a big plus if you are noise sensitive). Lijiang gets very loud at night as every bar/restaurant seemingly has live singing. So if you don't want to be regaled with cheesy Jay Chou ballades every night, book this hotel. I can't recommend this place enough.

The guesthouse has its own botanical garden with so many plants – holly ferns, begonias, succulents, hydrangeas, taro – a plant lover's dream! They also have a vegetable garden with peppers, eggplants, lettuce, scallions, and herbs. The auntie uses these to make chili sauce, jams, and salads. Outside the restaurant window, there's a tree with peanuts on it, and little squirrels would eat there while a cat watched from below. Since the owner is from Singapore, besides local rice noodles, the menu also features some international flavors like Bak Kut Teh and spaghetti bolognese. Breakfast is a delightful mix of Chinese and Western dishes, including steamed banana cake, pancakes, and malt porridge – absolutely delicious! The auntie would thoroughly clean our room after we left. Everyone at the guesthouse was so friendly. I absolutely loved it here!

It’s a traditional three-courtyard residence complete with a water wheel, giving it a very elegant feel. The courtyard is peaceful and quiet, making it so relaxing to sit and enjoy some tea. The room was spacious with great attention to detail. The separate wet and dry areas made our stay very comfortable. I will definitely stay here again next time I visit. Exploring the ancient town is super convenient from here, and whenever I got tired, I could easily head back to rest.

A Wonderful Stay at Songzhuju Hotel! We stayed at the Songzhuju Hotel for 6 nights and were thoroughly delighted with both the accommodation and the city of Lijiang. Even before our arrival, we felt the genuine care from the staff. Ah Fei contacted us in advance and arranged a transfer from the railway station the day before check-in. Upon arrival, he welcomed us with a traditional tea ceremony and treats, gave us a helpful overview of the hotel, and shared useful information about the city via WeChat. Ah Fei was always available and ready to assist with any questions. In fact, the entire hotel staff was incredibly pleasant and friendly. The hotel itself is excellent. We loved its location within the Ancient City, not far from the North Gate. This made it easy and quick to walk out to the main road to catch a taxi (since vehicles are not allowed inside the Ancient City), while still being immersed in the old town atmosphere. Importantly, it wasn’t in the busiest tourist hub—there were no crowds right next to the hotel, and it was quiet in the evenings and at night. Our room was a two-level family room, very cozy, clean, with comfortable mattresses and pillows, crisp white linens, and daily housekeeping. We also liked the breakfast—a traditional Chinese set menu (not a buffet)—which was delicious and authentic. I’d also like to share some thoughts on Lijiang itself. Initially, we planned to spend only 4 days here, but due to issues with our hotel in Dali, we left it earlier and extended our stay in Lijiang—and we were so glad we did it! Lijiang is absolutely charming. Even 6 days weren’t enough to fully explore it. Beyond the obvious pleasure of wandering through the Ancient City, I highly recommend: - Trip to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain - Visit Tinghua Valley Lijiang Flowers—an incredibly beautiful botanical garden with fairy-tale views of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain - Visit Shuhe Ancient Town - Climbing up to Wangu Tower on Lion Hill in the Ancient City for sunset views. We explored all these places independently, booking DiDi rides and purchasing entrance tickets via Trip.com. However, if needed, Ah Fei can help organizing any tours. Also, if you’re not planning to continue toward Shangri-La, I strongly recommend taking a day trip from Lijiang to Tiger Leaping Gorge. The best option is the trek from Halfway Guesthouse to Tina’s Guesthouse (or Teacher Zhang’s Guesthouse). This hike was probably the most memorable highlight of my entire month-long trip to China—the views are simply breathtaking. In summary, we absolutely enjoyed both: the region and the hotel, where we were able to have very comfortable rest after busy days filled with excursions and long walks. Huge thanks to the entire staff!

RUYulia_GrA Wonderful Stay at Songzhuju Hotel! We stayed at the Songzhuju Hotel for 6 nights and were thoroughly delighted with both the accommodation and the city of Lijiang. Even before our arrival, we felt the genuine care from the staff. Ah Fei contacted us in advance and arranged a transfer from the railway station the day before check-in. Upon arrival, he welcomed us with a traditional tea ceremony and treats, gave us a helpful overview of the hotel, and shared useful information about the city via WeChat. Ah Fei was always available and ready to assist with any questions. In fact, the entire hotel staff was incredibly pleasant and friendly. The hotel itself is excellent. Stayed here in end Aug where there wasn’t much snow cap on the mountains and a lot of clouds blocking the mountain peaks, but I’d say that the room view is still really nice because there’s sun, lake, mountain, clouds all in one! What we appreciated from this hotel: 1. The views: on day 1, we had afternoon tea (complimentary with our booking) and just enjoyed the view. We also tried to catch sunrise from our bed, and also enjoyed the view over complimentary breakfast at Level 1. 2. The service: this is the most supportive service we’ve ever had among all the hotels in China and other countries we have been to. - transport: They helped us to schedule complimentary pickup transfers from Lijiang train station to the hotel on our first day and from hotel to Lijiang Sanyi airport on our last day. - Taobao: They also helped me a lot with my many Taobao orders, across communicating with the delivery people, collecting (1x a day) from the collection point, returning some items as they weren’t fitting, applying for refund as my parcels still didn’t arrive on the last day etc. - other advice: getting used to higher altitude in Lijiang, how to use the washing machine & dryer, recovering from diarrhoea, whether we can still visit Lijiang Ancient City at night - other hotel items: gave us makeup remover and cotton pads when we had our photoshoot etc. - food: packed breakfast for us when we had day tours that started from 6am and asked us to pick our breakfast if we’re eating at hotel a day before. - housekeeping: they’d ask us if we’d like housekeeping when we waited for our didi to come. For the 6am day tours when reception wasn’t open yet, we texted them for help to tidy the room and we came back to a tidied room when we returned. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Super comprehensive service, we highly appreciated this. 3. Toilet: this toilet has a bidet! We were pleasantly surprised by this. While the area around the hotel is generally still developing, to which one of our Didi drivers said there was growing interest in real estate around the area, among the 3 hotels we stayed in Yunnan so far across Kunming, Dali and Lijiang, this is the best one we have had 😊
