The hotel was amazing! The service was fab, all the staff were so lovely and really helpful. The room was great and had everything you could need, and I loved the fact that all the toiletries are plant based! The location was also amazing, just round the corner from the nightlife if you wanted it (but completely silent from inside your room). It's very central so really easy access to anything you could want really. Would definitely stay there again and already recommended it to some friends.

Britannia Hotel Manchester has an undeniably grand, old-world charm—but it shows its age in ways both atmospheric and inconvenient. The lobby’s sweeping staircase and chandeliers hint at past glory, and the central location is excellent for shopping, trains, and nightlife. However, that vintage character often slips into dated and tired. Rooms vary widely: some are spacious, others cramped; décor can feel worn, with scuffed furnishings and thin walls. Cleanliness is generally acceptable but inconsistent. Bathrooms work, though water pressure and temperature can fluctuate. Service is hit-or-miss—some staff are friendly and efficient, others seem overwhelmed during busy periods. Noise from corridors and nearby bars can be an issue, so light sleepers should request interior rooms or bring earplugs. For the price, it’s a functional base in the city center with nostalgic charm, provided your expectations are modest and you value location over modern comforts. Potential, but in need of refresh.

My mom and I really enjoyed staying in this hotel. The location is perfect, which is actually in the city center. It is close to Victoria train station, Piccadilly station, tram and Piccadilly garden bus station. So you can go everywhere in an easy way. The room is clean, comfortable, warm and quiet, with hot water and high speed free wifi. The reception staff is friendly and helpful. We enjoyed quite an amazing journey here.

Hotel is lovely & very central to all the shops pubs etc all walking distance & NCP car park 5 mins walk away. We had afternoon tea when we arrived & yes it’s more than you would pay but the service & quality of the hood was second to none !! Cakes were so light you wondered if you ate them 🤣🤣 Pool & spar was so relaxing, we went 3 times & never really busy. Staff were all excellent as you would expect & we would definitely like to go back . Highly recommended x

I booked this hotel as it had a bath. The plug didn’t fit the whole so I couldn’t relax and have a bath. It was on a main road where a new tram stop is under construction. Post midnight there was workmen continuous drilling. I found chewing gum under the bedside shelf. There was single glazing, the fitted moving window to block our noise was broken and wouldn’t close as my photo shows.

I stayed the day before and booked an extra night but had to move room which was very smooth move. Firstly the was a poo stain on the toilet lid when I checked in and then later when I took a bath it was that hot that I burnt the bottom layer of my foot from the water. There is no way it should be running that hot. Then once I managed to cool my foot down and the bath. I burnt 2 of my toes just from touch the side of the taps. A very different experience from my first night stay and you can see from my review

My stay at this hotel in Manchester was fantastic! The location is incredibly convenient, just a short 6-minute walk from Piccadilly Station, making it perfect for travelers. The room was new, spacious, and provided a very comfortable experience. While the breakfast selection wasn’t overly extensive, the quality of the food was absolutely top-notch—delicious and satisfying. I would definitely recommend this hotel for its excellent location and comfort.

Absolutely loved this hotel! The scent throughout the hotel was delightful, and the toiletries were my favorite. Though the room was small, it was very comfortable, and the bed was super cozy. It's right next to a light rail/tram station, which takes you straight to Old Trafford on one convenient line. Plus, Chinatown is just behind the hotel.

The hotel is within walking distance of both Oxford Street and Piccadilly Station. The rooms are apartment-style, complete with kitchenware, a stove, and a microwave. The front desk staff were quite friendly and welcoming. While there appeared to be a bar on the first floor in the evenings, the rooms were well soundproofed, so we weren't disturbed by any noise.

I stayed at Moxy Manchester while on a work do, and it was a great experience from start to finish. The hotel is in the perfect location—right in the heart of town, close to everything you need. The staff were really friendly and welcoming, even offering a complimentary welcome drink, which was a lovely touch. Took my mum for a treat and for her to reminisce. wow!! We were not disappointed, it was a fantastic stay. The Building and architecture is stunning, huge tall ceilings and windows. Beautiful tiles everywhere, elegant dining and meeting rooms. Our room was fab, two double beds, lovely free snack box, posh teas and coffees. We loved the 5pm social hour, a chance to mingle with the other guests and an hour of free drinks and snacks. Breakfast was also great, it was extremely busy as the hotel was fully booked the night before so I did feel the staff were overstretched and there was a wait for fresh eggs and tea / coffee… but hey we were in no rush. Just beautiful… can’t wait to go again.

During my recent stay at this hotel, I found the overall experience to be enjoyable with top-quality fittings and furnishings. However, there were areas that required improvement. The hotel itself is pleasant, but enhancing the service and room cleaning would significantly improve the guest experience. A standard room was paid for but a disability-accessible room was provided. We requested to change it to a standard which was done immediately without any questions. No water bottles were provided in the room initially; they were only given on request and only two small bottles were provided. Additionally, the room cleaning service was unsatisfactory. Despite requesting it twice over 4 nights, the cleaner only changed the sheets once and neglected to take out the bins vacuum, replace towels or clean the bathroom. This was particularly disappointing given the length of my nearly week-long stay. The breakfast was beautifully presented with various options but unfortunately remained the same every day lacking any variation. Some areas were particularly poor. For instance, the scrambled eggs had a distinct smell and were overly watery. Adding tomatoes or simply varying the options every few days would have improved the experience. One concern we had was the cleaning team. Twice the cleaner used his universal card to enter our room without ensuring no one was present. My partner was in the shower and our young baby was asleep. We heard a knock but were unable to reach the door in time. Upon reaching it we realised he was already entering. This occurred twice and on the following day we decided to chain the door for privacy reasons. In other hotels we have stayed in, privacy is of the utmost concern for staff and they would never even risk opening someone’s locked door without making sure. A better system needs to be in place here.

It was decent. I stayed for one night while passing through, and the price was quite reasonable compared to other cities. Unfortunately, Manchester's Albert Square was under renovation, so there wasn't much to see. The main drawback was that the car park was a bit of a walk from the hotel. I'd advise checking with the hotel about parking before you arrive, otherwise, it can be quite a hassle.

Staycity is great, although they duplicate charged me which I have already paid thought agent earlier. Agent helped me to contact Staycity and they corrected it immediately. When I arrived Staycity, they knew and told me the money would be refunded to my credit card shortly. I left some clothes in the room, and the staff promptly emailed me, offering to return them to me at my convenience. There's also a hotel deposit of around £100, which takes a bit longer to be refunded, probably due to international processing times. The room was clean and tidy, and the hotel is very close to the University of Manchester, with a supermarket nearby. It's very convenient, and there's a 250 bus that goes directly to the biggest shopping center. The bathroom design was a bit odd; the water switch for the shower was opposite the showerhead, and the shower stall itself was about 10 cm higher than the rest of the bathroom, which felt a bit strange.

I stayed at the Pendulum Hotel in Manchester for one night on a Sunday while up for a work meeting. The hotel doubles as an event centre and is tucked just at the end of the party district near the Pride area — close enough to enjoy the city’s buzz, but still tucked away enough for a good night’s rest. The building is built around a central courtyard with a garden bar, giving it a nice open atmosphere. It’s very obvious the hotel used to be student accommodation — the wood furnishings, compact desk, and overall layout are straight out of a university hall of residence. But honestly, that adds to its charm. For the price, it’s a great deal if you want to take a little trip down memory lane and relive those student-style stays (with much cleaner bathrooms!) The room was spotless, the bed super comfortable, and the shower facilities very clean. It’s on the smaller side, so best suited to solo travellers or short stays. I grabbed some hot fries from the bar in the evening and took them up to my room — a nice, casual touch. Breakfast the next morning was buffet style with a great selection, and every staff member I met — at check-in, check-out, and breakfast — was friendly and helpful. The only odd part was the music: it sounded like someone had YouTube running, complete with adverts and two overlapping tracks at one point! The only downside was noise. The courtyard carries sound easily, so if windows are open, you’ll hear everything echo. Guests above me were up late chatting and singing, then arguing in the morning — staff were aware and handled it well after several reports, but it’s something to note. I’d suggest bringing earplugs just in case. Overall, this is a great, affordable spot in the city centre — friendly, nostalgic, and practical. Perfect for a quick work trip or a short stay in Manchester. I’d definitely stay again… just with earplugs packed next time!

Stayed here with my daughter for the Olivia Rodrigo concert. Usually stay in a Premier Inn but this was so much better. Only downside was a squeaky sliding door on the bathroom and someone running in the corridor at 2am. Overall, a lovely quirky hotel and would stay again 😀

Nice clean room, big bed and comfortable. Lovely hot shower. The thing i didn't like is the tax you have to pay at the hotel. It seems its Manchester wide. It should be added to the total and not extra. Its not much money but I only bought cash and they only take card. Paid in cash but it would be easier all round added. Where the cash went i dont know as its a card only hotel... however I'd stay again .

Good location for seeing Manchester City centre. Things to note for those who plan to drive: it’s £20 daily to park. To check-in early even if the room is available, you have to pay £20. If it’s raining, you have to rent an umbrella for £2 for 48 hours. I like that they don’t have plastic water bottles but they offer a jug that you can fill up with filtered water.

Next to the hotel is the Adel Shopping Center and Selfridges, which is very convenient for shopping. It is quiet in a busy area and the hotel service is also very good. The room is relatively large. The breakfast tastes average and is more Western. When booking a room, you can consider not including breakfast and buy it when you need it, so as not to waste it because it does not suit your appetite. Because it is in the central area, you need to wait for 10-15 minutes to take a taxi. Overall, I am quite satisfied and will stay here again next time I come to Manchester.

The room was decent with acceptable space and everything generally worked as expected. Breakfast was average — nothing particularly impressive. For anyone driving, take note: the hotel does not have its own parking. You can only park at public outdoor car parks nearby. After reading multiple reviews mentioning broken windows and theft in some of these car parks, I was a bit worried about leaving my car there. It’s definitely something guests should be aware of before booking. Overall, an okay stay, but parking concerns may be a deciding factor for some travellers.

The location is perfect, just a few minutes from the station and close to everything, which makes it easy when your days are packed with meetings or travel plans. The room was clean and comfortable, nothing over the top but well thought out. The bed was good, the shower worked perfectly, and after long days that’s really what matters. This is a grand and historic hotel, and I had a very comfortable stay. Its location is fantastic, right in the city center and just a short walk from Manchester's Chinatown. My only complaints are the unclear smoking signs near the entrance and the tiny ashtrays provided. There was also no doorman to offer assistance or reminders. This could easily lead to fines (as enforcement seemed rather discreet), which unfortunately cast a shadow of frustration and disappointment over my trip.

I went with my daughter, it was her very first time staying in Manchester, We enjoyed stay at the hotel. The staff were very friendly. The breakfast was good and something for everyone. The only thing I would say is that we both didn't get any sleep, not because of any noise from outside, it was actually from the toilet. Each time someone was using the bathroom from a near by room, our toilet would also make noise, that was a pain, but there was no point complaining about that as it qas really late when we came back to the hotel to sleep. And we only stayed one night. But I really would have liked to feel abit more fresh in the morning. I'm not sure if this is an issue with other rooms, but it caused us both not to sleep well. But apart from that, I cant complain. Shower was good and with good pressure. It was very clean. Location was excellent. I would like to try it again, but I would like to ask for a room without the noisy toilet :). Also if you look at the picture. There is cheap all day parking for £6.

Only negative was that walls are a bit thin, as well as their being stairs down to reception and the shower drain does not flow as easily so water does build up.
