The hotel was amazing! The service was fab, all the staff were so lovely and really helpful. The room was great and had everything you could need, and I loved the fact that all the toiletries are plant based! The location was also amazing, just round the corner from the nightlife if you wanted it (but completely silent from inside your room). It's very central so really easy access to anything you could want really.
Would definitely stay there again and already recommended it to some friends.FromAED 268

Plus: under 10 minute walk to Manchester Piccadilly train station. Convenient location with bus stops right outside the hotel. Check in was really easy. Outside of hotel looks right out of an old movie, really pretty — plus the corridor on entry. See attached photos.
Cons: the room is dated, expected for an old hotel. You get what you pay for I guess. The most terrible thing was the extra blanket they provided smelled really bad - like a wet carpet or dog that has dried up on its own and retained that most terrible smell. I slept without the blanket and chose to get cold rather because of that smell.FromAED 148

It was a lovely stay. We booked this hotel specifically for the spa, and loved the big pool, jacuzzi and sauna. Only thing was we didn’t realised you had to book early to get a slot to go to the spa, and it can get crowded in the evening. If you’re as keen as my friend, you could go at 7am and have the place all to yourself.
Although we didn’t use it, we walked past the gym right next to the spa and it looked well equipped, smelled really nice and clean too!
We ate to our heart’s content at the buffet breakfast. They have the crispiest hashbrowns!FromAED 638

At first I was skeptical with booking this place on trip but doing it was literally a blessing in disguise. I am not getting paid for this at all so trust me when I saw this. It was amazing and the breakfast was really good, the rooms are amazing and aesthetically pleasing to be in, the towels are great!!! It was worth it for the price I paid and room I got. The location is super convenient, really close to the Schengen visa office, less than a five-minute walk away. It's also very near Chinatown. The front desk service was excellent. Service - nice, the staff members are very friendly and kind. I will give 4 of 5.
Breakfast - they don’t have lot of variety of breakfast. But what they have is alright and taste okay. I will give 4 of 5.
Location - good and bad. The good part is it is close to a lot of places. For example, art gallery, the library. So it is really good for people want a convenient travel. However, the location is very very noisy at night, and some how, our room is not sound proof enough, at Friday night, a bunch of people singing on the street with microphones at 11:30pm, and we can hear all of them (we are in fifth floor, don’t know how people in the first floor would feel about it..).
Room facility - bad. It is not a 4 star hotel level. They do not provide fridge or room bar. The Tv is very old and the carpet of the hotel is very old and a bit dirty. The table and chair on the room is squeeze, and not stable. The whole room is just very old.
Room clean service - good, they do the service good and in time.
In general, I don’t think this should be a four star hotel - at least based on our experience. It could be a alright three star hotel and a normal two star hotel.

Our first stay at this hotel was rather mixed. The service from the front of house team was great. Very friendly and relaxed. We knew from seeing other reviews that we would be offered a complimentary welcome drink. However this was a Long Island iced tea with no alternative offered other than a non-alcoholic version. This isn’t a drink that either of us like so was of no value to us. The room was clean though very compact but it was disappointing that for the premium price of £225 you don’t get a fridge, complimentary bottled water or more than 2 sachets of milk for your tea/coffee. Whilst the bed was comfortable the room was a bit on the cold side and our sleep experience was not good. We expected to have some street noise into the early hours as it’s a city centre hotel close to bars & restaurants but what was more disturbing was the bins in the alleyway behind us being emptied several times throughout the night (4am!!!) making a horrendous noise that woke us both even though we were wearing earplugs. We decided not to have breakfast at the hotel due to the close proximity of various cafes.FromAED 270

Location was rather far from the Piccadilly train station — 15 min walk, (contrary to what others mentioned) so it’s a little inconvenient for those dragging a large suit case.
They gave me an accessibility room at the start but I managed to change it due to the help of the lovely blond counter staff! There was a male staff who was extremely nice during check out as well. Staff deserve a 10/10!
The room was nice — bed was large, room was spacious and clean. Only gripe was the small window which made the room feel a little stuffy. Room comes with a small fridge, iron and the bare toiletries. No slippers, toothbrushes!
Overall, must better experience compared to their other branch at Manchester central (although I must say that that branch is more central compared to the Piccadilly outlet; public transport and food options wise), especially in terms of their staff.
Would stay again but only if I’m out of more convenient options in Manchester.FromAED 264

I stayed here in February and the value for money was excellent. It had the historical charm of an old building, yet it was clean and tidy. The breakfast staff and front desk were both very welcoming. This was my second stay this month, and I didn't want to switch rooms late at night. Everyone should be aware that, while the room I got was generally as good as before, it had a locked-off, old, disused elevator door inside, which was quite creepy. Even though it was locked, it felt very strange to have a door in the room that I couldn't lock myself.FromAED 417

The room was clean and cosy and front-desk was friendly and responsive. We booked mainly to check out the pool, spa and gym as advertised by the hotel. So it was really disappointing when we found out that these facilities were closed on Xmas day and on other days operated at limited hours when we were there. The pool, sauna, steam room and gym are operated by a separate company from the hotel. That meant operating hours of those facilities are not catered for hotel guests at all. And it also meant sharing the facilities with members of the gym. So if you’re thinking of staying here and using the gym or pool, just bear those things in mind. Breakfast selection was quite limited. Very bare selection of any salads or greens. Quite embarrassing as well to see that clean plates were not available several times when there were less than 20 covers at breakfast. I understand it was the holiday season and the hotel is understaffed. But I’m sure this is not the first Christmas or NYE the hotel has encountered.FromAED 311

I left some clothes in the room, and the staff promptly emailed me, offering to return them to me at my convenience. There's also a hotel deposit of around £100, which takes a bit longer to be refunded, probably due to international processing times. The room was clean and tidy, and the hotel is very close to the University of Manchester, with a supermarket nearby. It's very convenient, and there's a 250 bus that goes directly to the biggest shopping center. The bathroom design was a bit odd; the water switch for the shower was opposite the showerhead, and the shower stall itself was about 10 cm higher than the rest of the bathroom, which felt a bit strange.FromAED 473

This hotel was a positive surprise to me. I did not expect more than a bed to sleep close to the center of Manchester for the price I paid for the stay and they offered so much more with the friendliness and professionalism of the frontdesk service staff, the varied breakfast and comfortable bed. The hotel is however a bit outdated and I missed a usb plug in the room for charging mobile as I am a European traveller and the plug is different. Luckily front desk helped me with an adapter for the night. So no issues with the staff down at the reception area at all, doing a smashing job representing the hotel, telling us about the app too upon arrival... check in the hotel earlier with app very cool, very nice, also the reception area is where the big bosses of this hotel choose to spend most of their budget as when you get to the rooms it does show.
Cleaning staff - now what are they doing? Because they certainly aren't cleaning the rooms, the room was the dirtiest room I've ever stayed in, windows, bed, bathroom, carpets, i know its a budget hotel but basic levels of hygiene and cleaniness should be a must in a hotel, ive stayed in cheaper hotels and they were cleaner!
Needs a refurb in the rooms and big recruitment drive for cleaning staff.
Me and my partner had to make the bed before sleeping because we couldn't stomach sleeping on it because of how it was.

Absolutely loved our stay at The Midland Manchester – everything about this hotel exceeded our expectations! From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, welcoming, and couldn’t do enough for us. Every member of the team made us feel genuinely looked after, and the service throughout was faultless.
The room was spotlessly clean, beautifully maintained, and incredibly comfortable. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud – we had some of the best nights’ sleep we’ve had in ages! The room service was prompt, professional, and the food was delicious – a real treat after a long day exploring the city.
Speaking of relaxing – the spa was absolutely divine. Clean, calming, and wonderfully designed, it was the perfect escape. The massage was one of the best I’ve ever had – incredibly soothing and tailored to perfection. If you’re in need of some proper pampering, this is the place to be.

I appreciate the charm of an older building with this style, but you have to accept its drawbacks. For instance, when housekeeping on the floor above moves furniture, it creates a lot of noise, and powder can sometimes shake loose from the ceiling's brickwork. The soundproofing isn't great either. One leg of the living room sofa was broken, and I'm not sure if the TV screen was damaged or if it was a signal issue. The shower door didn't close properly, so water would spray out, and the water pressure wasn't very strong. The bed, however, was very comfortable.FromAED 296

The staff from front desk to housekeeping and the restaurant and bar were all excellent and we will definitely returning in the futureFromAED 451

Front of house was helpful as I had booked and accessible room and they switched it for me with no issues however the room I was then switched to wasn’t the best. The bathroom door won’t close properly or lock. Nitro oxide Canisters 7 of them was found in the room behind a door so I had to get front of house to come and remove them. and the AC in the room didn’t work. So the room was hot all day and night.FromAED 272

location is great , however Lift is under maintenance,so we have to is the staff lift , however it only allows going up but not going down , so we have to walk 5 floors stairs to go out. On the other hand we have booked the family grande room cause we thought it’s a duplex as that’s what shown in the picture , but it wasn’t , which I think is quite misleading. Dishwasher wasn’t working for some reason , the construction work start like 9-10ish which is not very friendly if you wanna sleep in. Will only consider to stay again when the work is done.FromAED 264

Good place to stay for easy access to airport and travel links lukebtrain, trams and bus. Good food, especially breakfast. They have breakfast foods available for those who are leaving to catch early flights as well.
The place can be somewhat dusty and not good for those with dust allergies or asthma.
Had booked the accessible room which is nice and big. The only issue is that its far away from the main lifts and the carpet is a pain to drag wheels on.

This was my third time in The Alan so they must be doing something right 😄 Was guest at Room 403 this time which was the handiest room to get to/from the elevator. Definitely can't be lost.
Very spacious room with a bit of lounge area, free digestive biscuits, fresh water bottle and compact bath tub (yes, yes, yes!) which is perfect for short people. Window is a little high in this one and no floofy rug.
My favourite things: the gazillions of plugs and the full length mirror. As usual, bring your own summer duvet if you're a cool sleeper and your battery tea light candles for a cosier bath tub experience. A cortado at the nearby Nero overlooking St Peter's Square is a must.

The hotel is great in terms of the location, services and staff friendliness. The only reason that I rate the cleanness 4 out of 5 is because the roof in my room was looking weird, pipes were visible!
I don't know if it's like that by design or only.mybroom was like that!.
Everything else I recommend this hotel and like it.

(The picture is irrelevant - just a place in Manchester)

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5-Star Review: ibis budget Manchester Airport
I recently stayed at the ibis budget Manchester Airport, and it exceeded all my expectations for an airport hotel. From start to finish, the experience was smooth, comfortable, and incredibly convenient.
The location couldn’t be better—just a short walk from the terminals and perfect for early flights. Check-in was quick and friendly, and the staff were genuinely welcoming and helpful.
My room was spotlessly clean, modern, and surprisingly quiet considering the proximity to the airport. The bed was comfortable, the shower had great water pressure, and the overall layout was simple but very well designed. For the price, the value is outstanding.
I also appreciated the 24/7 reception, handy vending options, and the overall sense of safety and efficiency. Everything worked exactly as you’d hope before or after a long journey.
Overall, ibis budget Manchester Airport is a fantastic choice for travelers looking for comfort, convenience, and great value. I would definitely stay here again!

The rooms at Premier Inn are clean, comfortable, and perfect for a quick overnight stay near the airport. It’s a great option if you have an early flight.
The only downside is that overnight parking isn’t included—you have to pay extra, which feels a bit unfair given the location and short stay purpose. Still, overall

The location is super convenient, really close to the Schengen visa office, less than a five-minute walk away. It's also very near Chinatown. The front desk service was excellent. However, the facilities are quite old and small. Remember to ask the front desk for a toothbrush and slippers; when I stayed, I couldn't get slippers because they said they were out.

I slept without the blanket and chose to get cold rather because of that smell.
