The hotel has a good location 15-20 minutes drive from Clifden, The great features of the location are the views and the hotel’s own extensive beach (though :almost completely covered at high tide). The hotel buildings rather sprawl, however, and don’t have much character. We had three nights in a “Deluxe Suite Bay View” (room 211)) which had a massive amount of room, with double bedroom, twin bedroom, bathroom and large sitting room with views. In contrast, though, the fittings in the suite are a bit utilitarian e.g the shelves, the flimsy shower scree over the bath, the toilet seat that didn’t fit. The outstanding feature of the hotel is the food, all excellent. For the dinners, I particularly enjoyed the oysters, and the lobster pie. Breakfasts were also very good. Throughout our stay, the staff were efficient and friendly.

This hotel is a hidden gem. The rooms are big, clean, everything you need and more. The views from our room are like paintings! The food is always amazing, good choice, great service and local produce. The amenities are growing with every visit, the hot tub, the sea**** baths, ice baths, but the best amenity is the ocean with the fabulous beach and all on the door step. The best thing about The Connemara Sands is the staff. Dean, Kathy and all the family and staff make this hotel one of the best experiences ever. Shannon deserves her own mention for always smiling and laughing with us and never showing us that she is put out by our “enthusiasm”, she just joins in with us and has the craic. This was not our first time at the hotel and definitely won’t be our last time.

Had a wonderful family break at Connemara Sands over Easter weekend. Staff, service and food all amazing and the location is simply breathtaking… the beach sauna and outside sea**** baths are an additional unique experience experience, Brian the barman and resident musician is a star in the making… thank you to all at The Sands. We will return.

I had an amazing stay at this hotel! The hospitality was top-notch, the food was fantastic, and the easy beach access made it even more enjoyable. The hot tub and sea**** baths were perfect for relaxation after a swim. Stylish rooms, a comfy bed, and a great night's sleep – I'll definitely be returning!

I visited the hotel as a part of a group at the end of February and I am only sorry I waited this long to take a trip. The quality of the guest room was fantastic, the water pressure was amazing, the VOYA products in the room were wonderful and the room was spotless. The hotel itself is located in a spot that is perfect to get away from the world for a while and immerse yourself in nature. They had a Sauna, outdoor Hot tub and sea**** baths also available. The hotel is very well maintained. The two stand out things for me were the team at the hotel as well as the food. Shannon, Marion, Brian and owners Dean and Cathy were such fantastic hosts and as a hotel worker myself I genuinely appreciate now when guests say its the staff that made their stay! Their head chef Sinead provided dishes of which ingredients were sourced locally, for our evening meal and this was fantastic from start to finish. Breakfast was equally as good with their Avocado and Feta dish being a favorite of many! Thanks again to all at the Connemara Sands for your hospitality and I am looking forward to my next visit :)

Top class is every way. It was early in the season when we brought our group of 20 to Connemara sands and the hotel was fantastic. It is so modern and kept so well, everything recently painted, and spotless. The warm welcome, spacious warm comfortable rooms, professional service, stunning local food on offer, everything was Excelent. Our group enjoyed the outdoor sea**** baths and sauna and hot tub and took several swims at the beach behind the property. We hosted a dinner for 30 people one of the evening and it was everyone’s highlight. Can’t compliment the chef and service staff enough. This is an amazing hotel. A real hidden gem.

A quiet town with a quieter a**osphere. Alone with my thoughts and a strong, gaelic breeze I wandered the premises day and night. Beach-water would slap you sideways and leave you broken-hearted, but they installed a boxcart sauna to combat this misery. I recommend going during the summer, as majority of the facilities and surrounding area are built upon it. (I went off- season to avoid children as I have bad memories with them) Food was surprisingly good, although I had a bad oul guiness, must’ve been a dodgy batch.

This hotel is my favourite place in the world. The staff, the surroundings, the food, the cleanliness, the facilities are all top class. The beach is amazing - even in November. The breakfast every morning was the best Ive ever had. The staff always remember our family (there’s enough of us) and treat us so well every time we visit. The new facilities such as the hot tub and sauna are a fantastic addition. Walks around the area, a few drinks and great food with attentive, friendly staff, what more could anyone wish for in a holiday? We cannot wait to return again next year.

I'm afraid to leave too good a review that I won't get a future booking! This place is a gem. We've returned as a family groups for years now and it never disappoints. From the initial booking with Marion to arriving at the entrance to see the friendly faces of Kathy and Deane. The accommodation is excellent, the food and drinks never disappoints. The location is stunning, it's the true gem. It's a tonic switching off and getting out no matter what the weather. Thanks again for the great break, Sorcha & Ronan
