Hotel El Palace Barcelona

Barcelona City Centre Barcelona|1.87km from Akkra
We stayed 7 nights in this historic hotel and celebrated a special occasion during our trip. The hotel is truly beautiful & elegantly decorated, however the service levels were inconsistent and sorely disappointing for a hotel of this standard & price. Also, there was unfortunately no special factor that made this hotel memorable. Rooms - we booked a classic double room for 3 people & got upgraded to a deluxe room on a high floor. While I appreciated the upgrade and the room decor was beautiful, the bathroom (while spacious) was in visible need of refurbishment. The paint was badly peeling in certain parts, the closet doorknob came off on our third day, the glass shower door wouldn't close fully so the bathroom got wet during a shower. I'm not expecting a newly renovated room but for the price, the room should at least be in good working condition. Housekeeping - was very inconsistent and there was a severe lack of attention to detail. Some examples: - Upon check in, the room curtain was unhooked from the first hook and messily hanging - it took 3 days for housekeeping to finally notice & fix this. - For the entirety of our stay, all room amenities were provided for 2 (not 3) people despite us having booked & paid for 3 people. - Used wine glasses & water mugs were not washed for several days until we called housekeeping to do so. - On several days, I came back to my luggage having been moved haphazardly (I think they were trying to make up the extra bed) and not put back in its place. - Turn down service was done beautifully on some days and not at all on other days. Rooftop terrace - was a gorgeous place to dine, food was excellent and the service was lovely. We felt very welcome here and it was a real treat dining here! Definitely try the rooftop terrace at least once! Front desk, concierge and bellman were excellent. The concierge was helpful with dining recommendations and guest relations gave us a cake for the special occasion we were celebrating. The bellman was attentive to get us taxis & always greeted us with a smile. Breakfast - is definitely worth a try! The breakfast room is beautiful and the drawing room leading to it is so regal & gorgeous. Generous spread of food & service was warm as well. Amar - dined here & paid over 400 euros but it was a shockingly disappointing experience. The bread, starters, petit fours & decor were wonderful - but the 200 euros of seafood we ordered was not fresh at all and the service was disinterested & careless. We were abit shocked at how bad it was for a Michelin restaurant. Bluesman cocktail bar - did not try. There's a 50 euro per pax minimum spend but perhaps this could be waived for hotel guests who are already paying a lot for a room. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but felt greatly let down by the service standards at this otherwise lovely hotel. Unfortunately, I highly doubt I'd return here again but sincerely hope the hotel improves its service standards to match its elega

Sercotel Hotel Rosellon

Sagrada Familia Barcelona|0.57km from Akkra
Sincerely baffled by all of the positive reviews. Like most of you reading these reviews, We scour the internet to ensure the hotel will be a good fit for my travels. The overwhelming number of positive reviews for this hotel led me to believe we would have a positive experience; but our reality was very different. First; the room was filthy ( this can be very subjective) - which I understand can just ge due to staffing issues etc. and the hotel should not be judged based on this alone. We did let the hotel know our room was pretty dirty and they offered to move us to a complimentary suite on the 14th floor; after being shown the new room; we ultimately declined and ended up checking out after one night as we really did not like our room at all (more on that below). Broken door latches, dirty sheets, dusty lamps, cruddy baseboards and the vanity shelf over the toilet in the bathroom to store your things was just a bit much for us. In our experience, this is one of those hotels where the front lobby is incredibly beautiful, modern, and updated.. however the rooms show signs of some major aging and are in need of a desperate update. We experienced two rooms within the hotel and both were in need of a major update (their suites included). The room photos we see online we felt like were major glamour shots of the actual rooms. Beds: bed preferences vary, so what may be comfortable for me, may not work for another person. Objectively speaking, beds had zero padding to them whatsoever and all bed springs could be felt. Every time we sat down, the bed made a weird noise. It’s worth noting, the beds are also on casters, which aren’t the sturdiest things (assuming this is to be able to move from 2 twins into a king type of room relatively quickly). Bed was the same “hardness” in the upgraded suite as well. Noise: We initially stayed on the 5th floor with a view of the sagrada familia. The hotel is right above a park and we could hear every conversation, cough, spit up and dog bark below us. Furthermore, we could hear all of our neighbors conversations in the rooms next door(s), people coming and going etc. We sincerely found the soundproofing to be completely non existent. When we previewed the room on the 14th floor, we found the noise to be present as well. Location: As far as the proximity to the sagrada familia, this hotel can’t be beat. The hotel offers rooms with views of the sagrada familia as well. Higher floors will obviously have better views; but the room we initially paid for was on the 5th floor and though we could see the Sagrada Familia, it wasn’t exactly what we pictured or thought we paid for. The hotel does appear to be in a more commercial part of town; so we did not feel like it had a charming neighborhood feel at all. Outside of the Sagrada familia, this hotel isn’t very close to other tourist locations so you will be using metro/Uber quite a bit. The metro is within 5-10 minutes walking distance; which we really loved.

Nice hotel for my first solo travel experience. Room was clean, reception were very friendly, snug but only really used the room for a base to shower, sleep and keep my bag. Really accessible from the metro, some lovely little cafes around by the hotel for breakfast etc. Sagrada familia was close, around a 10 min walk. Also walked to Park Güell, which was a bit longer of a walk but nonetheless still walkable - though very hilly so worth considering other transport to get there if with a pushchair or wheelchair. Reception staff were super helpful, I asked for the best way to get to the airport and was advised that with a suitcase taking the metro would be best - the staff member drew on the metro map to show me exactly where to go/change etc, it took roughly an hour but was very easily done! Would also recommend an hola Barcelona travel card for use on the metro etc, was reasonably priced and made my life so much easier with respect to travel! I was also able to keep my suitcase and travel bag in the hotel for the day when I checked out, then changed in the reception amenities before getting the metro to the airport. My only negative feedback, two things. The metalwork under the sink in the bathroom had a sharp corner, I scratched my leg on it and 3 weeks later it’s scarred at the moment. It was only superficial but just something to be careful of! The other feedback I have, is on one night around 2/3am in the night the fire alarm went off. We all evacuated via the fire exit, made our way down the stairs - reached the bottom but in the dark it seemed the only exit was then back into the hotel? Could very well be that due to being suddenly awaken the guests in front of me that I followed did not notice the proper exit. Upon getting down the stairs, word was passed amongst guests there was no fire to worry about and to go back to bed. I didn’t see any staff members, and the next morning, there was no idea as to what had happened or caused us all to evacuate at 2am.

Sagrada Familia
It was close to the metro and I was able to see Sagrada Familia every day. There are a lot of people passing by, so it is safe to walk at night. The cafe nearby was also open at 7 o'clock, so I didn't have any trouble finding dinner or going to the supermarket. Unfortunately, there was a wet towel inside the blanket in the room...it was disgusting. When I told the staff, they handed me a new blanket and said, ``I'll check with the cleaning staff.'' The blanket was also scratchy and untidy and didn't feel good to the touch. I would like to give it a high rating because the location, room, and staff can speak English, but the cleaning and blankets were disappointing!

I stayed 5 nights in the accommodation and the truth that was all very pleasant. The staff boys all with the best of the waves always and available for any doubt I had. I highlight the work of Ceci, Diogo, Alan, Sofi and Geri. The hotel is very comfortable and the common rooms of the best of the Hostel. The only point in the way of ” complain” is that my goal at the Hostel was to meet people, within all my age and just throughout my stay there was a trip of primary and secondary children, who occupied all the rooms of the hotel.

I rarely write reviews. This time, the Spanish hotel was booked on Ctrip. Barcelona booked this apartment in 3 days. It was completely fancy location. Let’s talk about the pit: 1. The location is really good, very close to the Sagrada Familia 2, 3 rooms, only one toilet. If there are too many people, consider it carefully, and the water heater supports 2 people to take a bath, and then it will take a long time to burn 3. Arbitrary charges, key points. When booking, the total price is 486 euros, including tax, excluding the city tax of 2.48, and then 20 euros will be charged after 8 pm. Fully self-check-in, there is a charge for late arrivals, that's fine. The key is that when I looked at the credit card bill two days ago, I actually deducted 550.64 Euro. Now 3 days have passed, and neither Ctrip nor the hotel has a statement. Remind everyone who has booked to see the credit card bill, or else they don’t know if the money is deducted 4. The deposit is 222 Euros, all deducted. Reason 1 is that we did not dump the garbage in the kitchen. There are 3 trash bins in the whole kitchen to sort garbage. Before we leave, we clean up all the rooms. Then we put the garbage in bags in the kitchen. The big trash bins in the kitchen are full and there is no place to dump the trash downstairs. Where do you want us to dump? Moreover, we have all sorted out, which is quite unreasonable. Reason 2 is that a piece of paint is burned off the surface of the table by the pot. The deposit of 222 Euros for the two items is non-refundable. We offered to replace the table with a new one or provide the repair fee for repainting, but did not get a reply. The room rate is 162 euros a day, and it costs 222 euros to repair a small piece of paint? Hard to understand As of the review time, there is no reply

It was only 1 km from Sakurada Familia, so I'm glad I could go for a walk! It was difficult to understand only check-in, but it was saved because he came as soon as I called by bell. The room was larger and more comfortable than the apartment!

If you are staying in Barcelona, you will only stay here. Just opening the window will bring you into the history of Barcelona. The view from the rooftop is also outstanding. The subway, supermarket and market are just a short walk away, so it's a perfect score of 200 for those who want to feel Barcelona while living their daily lives. It's fun to get along with locals and neighbors. I'm planning to stay in Paris and Barcelona next year, but I just pray for the end of the coronavirus.

Well located apartment. Close to the Sagrada Familia, you can find restaurants in the immediate vicinity. A reception is open at certain times. In case of closing, the key provision system is well designed and easy to use. We found a very clean apartment upon our arrival. The biggest concern is the soundproofing, the stairwell is noisy (especially when the residents do not respect anything). The pinnacle was reached on our last night (January 01 to 02, 2022), when the apartment above decided to be a nightclub. All night, many people prevented us from sleeping, knocking the ground, moving the furniture... The emergency number at the reception never answered in the middle of the night. The next day, we informed the reception of our annoyance (or even more...), without having in return, neither compassion nor compensation accordingly. So the tranquility of your stay will depend on your neighbours...
