This little gem is 20 min away by foot from the Southern Tiananmen Square entrance, in the middle of Hutongs and with Dashilar district close by.
A classic inn with tiny, but modern rooms and a beautifully decorated inner court.
Their most precious feature though is the kind and friendly staff. They helped with my luggage (2 floors without elevator), organized a shuttle to the flag-rising ceremony at 4 am, helped with any issues and offered luggage storing after check-out.
In the evening you can listen to a talented lady playing Guzheng, Chinese zither, in the courtyard.
A lovely experience.

I stayed at Mercure Hotel for 4 days. I felt the taste of home everywhere. The attentive service and convenient travel made my trip to Beijing a pleasant end. I will recommend it to my friends.

I chose to stay at Mercure Hotel because I saw good reviews. After checking in, the overall feeling was great. There was a performance in the afternoon. The hotel is also in Qianmen, which is very convenient for travel. The service of the ladies at the front desk was also excellent. Manager Weiwei was also very responsible and professional. I was very satisfied with this trip. The breakfast was also delicious. The decoration of the hotel was very nice and unique. 🤩

The hotel is very clean. There is no elevator because it is a cultural relic. The front desk helped me carry the big suitcase, which I am very grateful for.
