Wilmersdorf Berlin|0.32km from Eisenzahnstr. (Berlin)
Both myself and my partner (both 22) visited Berlin for the first time for 3 days (4 nights). The hotel is easily accessible by train (closest station is Charolttenburg) or by 45 minute taxi (roughly €50-€60), and is located in a quiet side street, but very close to the city centre and main attractions. Hotel is Scandinavian themed, has a lovely peaceful atmosphere and very friendly staff, who went above and beyond to answer any questions we had. Although check-in and check-out times are displayed on Booking.com, they desk is manned 24/7 and they are very flexible. The rooms are cosy, perhaps on the smallish side, but very suitable for a couple and a place to rest in between days of exploring the city. The beds are VERY comfortable and soft; we unfortunately didn’t have a double bed, but two singles pushed together. This wasn’t an issue, but it may have been nice to have an option to provide a double duvet rather than two singles if it is a room shared by a couple. Very powerful waterfall shower. The bathroom is very modern, and is separated by sliding frosted glass partitions. This was absolutely fine for us as a couple and what we expected, as it is clearly advertised as so on Booking.com. However this may be an issue if you are sharing a room with someone in which you would like more privacy whilst using the bathroom. We didn’t pay for breakfast included, but given the option to use this service and pay at the end of our stay. Breakfast runs from early to late morning, plenty of options of hot food (bacon, eggs, sausage), pastries and breads, fresh fruit, a selection of cold meats and cheeses, yogurt, cereal and even a waffle maker! Very reasonable at €12 pp (have included an image). Overall, very happy with the stay, and feel that it is good quality for money paid — the only reason why we didn’t score this hotel at 5 stars is that we felt it could be a good addition to have a small kettle, and complimentary coffee, tea and milk in the room, to in the evenings. Recommendations: The 24 hour train tickets is only €8.80, can be bought from any station, and allows you to travel as often as possible on both the overground and underground. Download the ‘BVG Fahrinfo: Routes and Tickets’ app (yellow and black app icon). It lets you plan journeys on the overground and underground trains, see the most convenient route to get from A to B, how much the ticket will cost, and when and where the trains departs from. Take the train from Charlottenburg to Hackescher Markt- lots of lovely restaurants to eat in (especially ‘Barist’) and a lovely spot by the river to sit on deckchairs in the sun and order some drinks in ‘James-Simon-Park’ (have included an image). Really good Chinese restaurant ‘Lychee’, about a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Lovely atmosphere and amazing food.

Wilmersdorf Berlin|0.37km from Eisenzahnstr. (Berlin)
Me and my wife spent 3 nights here in early December and had a really good time. We absolutely loved the hotel and will make sure to come back next time we visit Berlin. It has a lovely, slightly decadent, charm! Our “de luxe” room was spacious, nicely furnished and felt luxuriously up to the task. The bed was really comfortable and the pillows were great (and this is not the case in the majority of hotels..) The staff was very helpful and friendly, in particular the personnel in the Bar! Our first night when we could not get a table in the restaurant, it was no problem eating in the bar with access to the full restaurant menu! The waiter was really helpful with nice personal recommendations with regard to both food and wine. The food is lovely, well cooked Asian/French cuisine with a nice variety of dishes! The breakfast menu is really nice and the staff is friendly and attentive! If you are hung up on buffet breakfasts, get over it and enjoy the well composed menus! I have seen people complaining about noice from the bar! The bar plus noice should not come as a surprise to anyone who book a room one floor up from one of the trendiest bars in Berlin. If your nights sleep is important and if you visit on Friday/Saturday get a room higher up in the building. We stayed at the fourth floor during the weekend and we did not hear a thing from the Dj/bar! Our only very small complain would be that the minibar wasn’t cool enough. We could live with that…😉

Strongly NOT recommended, awful place. First of all, this is NOT a regular hotel, It's just an 4th. floor of an old building with noisy toilets, rooms and reception just in daytime. In other meaning it's closer to the a hostel category than a ”hotel”. The location is not bad, (but in suburb) because there is an U-bahn sideline close to the ”hotel”, but even this fact, the center of West is few kilometers from there, and the Eastern Central is very far. There was NO HEATING in my room for 5 nights and days (!) and they didn't want to repair it. The staff didn't replied my asks and slammed the phone down (no reception here, as I wrote, they are smart, no reception, no complaining!) in late evening, when I get cold. The next day when the staff came back to the ”hotel”, they gave me a cheap radiator, that was the ”heating” for those days. They didn't say ”sorry” or anything just told meg arrogant comments, like ”what's your problem, now there is a radiator”. I tried to explain for the blonde young lady (the only one who spoke English from the staff) that the radiator is not a correct solution in a ”hotel”, but she and her boss didn't care about the guest's problems. There was NO WATER for hours one morning, and nobody gave any info to the guests. So this happened meanhwhile some guests used the toilets... Imagine that. There was no HOT WATER for the last morning for hours, but it wasn't real surprise after these terrible days. After this two guys (from the staff) not only knocked the doors but went to my friend's room meanwhile he was under the shower and they knocked there at the shower.. They didn't act they are a hotel staff, because it is not a hotel. There was ALWAYS a weird noise from the toilet box, when you use that (any room!) or when you use water there. This noise is kind of symbol of the place. When you are on your bed you heard that noise from different bathrooms too. The breakfast (what I read here at the comments ”fantastic”?) - is exactly the same every day without any hot food (even no omlette or a sausage) and without any fresh fruits, it is some sad cheese, salami and bread, minimal sweet thing and some really low-budget tea and coffee. That's their breakfast (and their attitude!). If you want to enjoy Berlin, choose a better place, what is not hard in this city. We never had a bad place like this, in this fantastic city. The reception lady (I'm sure she doesn't know the hotel business) said ”you cannot do anything, you already paid your room, but put us to the embassies blacklist, hahaha” - and she was laughing.

I had a lengthy stay in this hotel recently and was very happy with the experience. The location is excellent 300m from the Adenaur Platz UBahn, There are some lovely restaurants nearby especially an Italian and Turkish restaurant. The staff were pleasant and there was a decent breakfast. The room was fine and clean. The bed was comfy and the wifi reasonably fast. I had no complaints.

Pluses of our visit to the hotel Margrit in Berlin 1. Price 65 euros for the room including a free continental breakfast . 2. Location in the centre of Berlin 3. Hotel room was warm clean and tidy . However as you can see from the photos the place is very tired and dated .1970s decor at its worst . Personally we felt it was more like a hostel than a hotel . Indeed looking at some of the hostels in the area they seem to have a lot more to offer . Did not detract from our stay as the city is a wonderful place to be before Christmas

A big room. very well equiped, a lot of lights and an excellent wi-fi. The U-Bahn station is 3 minutes walk, and although it takes some time to get bto the city center, the great price of the room worths it. There are a lot of stores 5 minutes away. For Jewish guests: Chabad hause in 10 minutes walk away and you can gind vwgan bakery in Bio Company. Mostly friendly and helpful staff. On the downside: There is only one english TV chanell and the pillows are way too soft.
