This was my second trip to Hakone, and since I was traveling with my 70-year-old parents, I chose Hakone Yutowa Hotel for its convenient location. The hotel is only 400 meters from Gora Station, about a 7-minute walk on flat ground. It's also super close to Gora Park, though that involves an uphill climb. We stayed for three days and two nights. Breakfast and dinner were both buffet style with unlimited drinks and alcohol. They offer afternoon tea from 3 PM to 7 PM, and an evening bar time from 7:30 PM to 10:30 PM. After soaking in the hot springs, complimentary ice cream and milk were a lovely touch. Everything was absolutely wonderful; I'm so glad we chose Yutowa Hotel.

The room is spacious as advertised, the hotel is a bit old but overall is still comfortable and relaxing. The in room hot spring is awesome with nice view of the lake. The open air public bath is not very big but it's fine when no crowded. The observatory deck (Take the stairs from 4th floor) is slightly below expectations due to the handprints on the window but it's still a nice place to chill. The food for dinner and breakfast have limited choices but the taste is good. You can have the view of Mt Fuji outside the lounge on a clear sky day. Free shuttle from hotel is available to pick up at Motohakone pier and the bus (Hakone Free Pass) to Hakone Yumoto station is available at the front of the hotel.

The highlight of this trip was staying at this hotel. First of all, for hot spring lovers, this hotel has both private baths in the room and private baths that require payment, as well as excellent public hot springs. The hot springs are very unique, with dense bamboo forests outside, creating a beautiful and private environment. The hotel's food is also of excellent quality. Unlike popular buffets, this hotel offers kaiseki dinner and a choice of Japanese or Western breakfast. Excellent value for money.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Wonderful Stay with an Incredible Mount Fuji View

I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Clad Gotemba and really enjoyed the overall experience. The hotel was very well equipped, comfortable, and had everything I needed for a relaxing stay.

One of the highlights was definitely the dinner and breakfast buffet. There was a great variety of food to choose from, and it was nice to have so many different options available for both meals.

But the absolute highlight has to be the open-air onsen with the Mount Fuji view — it is simply insane! 🗻♨️ Soaking in the hot spring while looking out at Mount Fuji was such an amazing and memorable experience.

A couple of small suggestions that could make the stay even better:

* Pillows: The pillows were a little too soft for my preference. It would be great if guests could choose from different pillow types or have a firmer option available.
* Onsen hours: It would be fantastic if the onsen could stay open later, especially for hotel guests. Since there isn’t a huge amount to do around Gotemba at night, having the opportunity to enjoy a late-night soak would be a wonderful perk. Perhaps the later hours could even be reserved exclusively for hotel guests after the public bathing hours end.

Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend Hotel Clad Gotemba, especially for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway with an amazing Mount Fuji view and a fantastic onsen experience. I would happily stay here again!

Stayed for many days, changed the room several times, the parent-child room is large, clean, comfortable, convenient to travel, will come again. But don't choose the deluxe double room 1430, the room is very small, the musty smell is very big, the quilt is too humid, this room is very strange, the uncomfortable night is still strange, dare not turn off the light to sleep.
