I am very happy to have the opportunity to share my experience and evaluation. The B&B is located on Xishan Island, with a quiet and comfortable environment. This B&B has a superior geographical location, convenient transportation, and is very close to the attractions I visited. As soon as I entered the B&B, I was attracted by its unique decoration style. The room was decorated both warmly and comfortably, which fully reflected the taste and care of the owner. I was very satisfied with the accommodation experience in the B&B this time and was deeply impressed. I would not hesitate to recommend this B&B to my friends and family. Here, I give a high evaluation and recommendation for this B&B! The five-star praise is undoubtedly the best compliment to this B&B. Thank you for providing me with comfortable, thoughtful service and high-quality environment! I hope I will have the opportunity to stay here again in the future!

The overall environment of the room is very good. The hotel provides a buffet breakfast with rich and varied varieties, and the service staff is very enthusiastic. The parking lot is large and free of charge. I was originally worried that the car could not be charged, but there are charging piles. Overall, this hotel is really good and I will come again next time.

I originally booked two nights elsewhere with a friend, but suddenly I came across this very cost-effective lake view B&B and decided to change my reservation. To highlight the point, look at p2. This building is right next to the lake. The location and angle are perfect. But when you come in, you have to follow the road leading to the thousand-year-old tree and go around. On the way, you also met the boss’s breasts. Standing there The fence is decorated with stone lions, which are really cute and can be touched freely. The cloudy days started to clear up here. The blue sky and white clouds and ancient trees are unique to this island. I didn’t expect much from the original weather. It was an unexpected surprise. In the end, I even photographed the sunset. , it looks better to the human eye, but cannot be captured with a mobile phone. There is a parking lot next to the B&B. It just happened to be vacant. The housekeeper said that parking is free in the marked parking spaces. The window glass of this hotel is quite thick, so you can hardly hear the sound from outside.

I came here because of the amusement park for children, and I had fun as soon as I arrived. In addition to the amusement park, the hotel also has handicraft classes specifically for children, which is really worry-free and very friendly to adults. There are many activities, including swimming, table tennis, and billiards. The hotel environment is also good. It is located by Taihu Lake and is convenient to the surrounding attractions. The service is also in place. The housekeeper Xiao Lu contacted me one day in advance to introduce the hotel's services and surrounding attractions to me, and sent me the hotel location. After arriving at the hotel, he warmly received us, upgraded our room, sent us the hotel schedule after checking in, etc., and gave us a small surprise for the children when we checked out. It was a very wonderful experience, and I am very grateful to Xiao Lu for his careful care. See you next time!

The location is not in a busy area, but the subway is quite convenient, just right for Line 2 and Line 4. The bed is very comfortable, the room is large, clean and sanitary, with complete facilities, snacks are given upon check-in, and the view from the high floors is very good. We went to breakfast late, so some things were not complete, so we should have eaten earlier.

Everything was great. Thank you for delivering W standards wherever whenever 😁 Just perhaps one remark: Despite my more than three years of living in China, I still haven't managed to understand this obsession with swimming hats (is it a legal requirement unique to China?). I hadn't taken two steps out of the swimming pool changing room when the lifeguard almost impulsively asked me if I had taken my swimming hat (which I did btw). For a hotel like the W where the young, modern clientele uses the pool mainly for leisure and taking photos, I find it really old-fashioned to insist on a swimming hat. Why wouldn't the three lifeguards (a bit much for an indoor pool) rather take care of cleaning up the few hairs that float on the surface? A word to the wise...

The decoration of the Sandexuan B&B is very elegant, the boss must be a tasteful person, the furniture is new Chinese style, especially atmospheric, the environment is elegant, it is the best in the current homestay, high-end atmosphere, there are also dining inside, especially convenient, the key is the chef's craftsmanship, The dishes made are particularly delicious! Before leaving, the boss also sent a souvenir. We played with our brother, parents, and three families, so three souvenirs, two bottles of red wine in each bag, thank you boss for your intentions! Next time I go to Sanshan Island, I will choose this one. My husband said that the company team building can come over in the future!

Suzhou Travel Guide: How to Get Around, Where to Stay & What to Do

Suzhou doesn’t whisper its history—it sings it through stone bridges, winding canals, and classical gardens that have stood the test of centuries. But don’t let the ancient poetry fool you. The city also has sleek shopping malls, high-speed trains, and neon-lit districts that buzz long after the sun goes down.

Whether you're arriving by air or rail, or exploring the city's intricate streets and waterways, understanding the local transportation options will enhance your experience. Let's delve into the various ways to get around Suzhou efficiently, from its airport and high-speed trains to its convenient urban transit systems.

How to Get Around Suzhou

Shangtang Street, Suzhou

Suzhou is incredibly accessible, with a smooth transportation system that makes moving around the city a breeze. Whether you're flying in from overseas or arriving via China’s legendary bullet trains, getting into and around Suzhou is easy—even if it’s your first time.

Arriving in Suzhou: Airports & High-Speed Rail

Suzhou doesn’t have its own international airport, but it’s sandwiched between two major ones in Shanghai. Thanks to China’s high-speed rail network, you're never far from a fast transfer.

Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport (SHA)

SHA is Suzhou’s closest airport and a major domestic + regional hub.
The high-speed train from Hongqiao Railway Station gets you to Suzhou in about 25–30 minutes.

For a smooth transition from your flight to your stay, consider hotels near the airport that offer shuttle services. Here are some recommendations.

Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG)

The metro system is modern and connects most major business districts, parks, and tourist spots. Lines 1–5 are currently active, and more are under construction. Fares start at ¥2 (approx US$0.30).

Buses: Budget-Friendly & Extensive
Great for reaching areas the metro doesn’t cover. Signs are mostly in Chinese, but apps like Baidu Maps help plan routes easily.

Taxis & Ride-Hailing: Easy to Use
Taxis are cheap by international standards. Didi (China’s Uber) is widely used and offers an English interface for easier booking.

Canal Boats: Ride Through History
Perfect for scenic travel between Suzhou’s old districts. Book a day or night cruise for a different perspective of the city.

Bike-Sharing & E-Scooters
Apps like HelloBike and Meituan let you unlock bikes and scooters across the city—ideal for short distances or park rides.

JJairoOur experience at this hotel could not have been better—it was truly beyond our expectations. The location is perfect, nestled in a historic house with sophisticated decor that exudes charm and elegance. The staff went above and beyond to please us, attending to every detail with care. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with a delicious afternoon tea, featuring a homemade tiramisu that was absolutely delightful. The staff is well-prepared to receive foreign guests; Miss Yang, in particular, speaks excellent English and is very kind. Overall, we strongly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a memorable and exceptional stay in Zhouzhuang.

TTuscany RoseI am absolutely in love with this hotel! First of all, the hotel is located inside the scenic spot. One of the staff called me in advance to arrange a time to pick me up at the entrance of the scenic spot. My Chinese is not good so normally it's very awkward for me to speak over the phone in Chinese but she was very patient with me which I appreciate. Not only did she escort me to the hotel but she also carried my luggage for me. The decor inside the hotel has a beautiful, rustic asthetic which matches the feel of the ancient town. I really like table and chairs in my room, overlooking the pond. The pond also has koi fish and turtles! It was a beautiful touch that added to the overrall feel of the hotel. I loved these little details such as theovely traditional Chinese tea set (with a variety of complementary loose tea leaves), and the stylish coffee mugs. Unfortunately I came to Zhouzhuang during a severe typhoon which caused a leak and power cut in my room, so when I alerted the staff, they immediately gave me a new room. They even helped me pack my things so I can change rooms as soon as possible. The new room I went to was equally as beautiful. Not only is the hotel beautiful but it also has great amenities. Both rooms I stayed in had a stone bathtub which were both very deep -you could float it in! If you come here, I would recommend you bring some bubble bath with you like I did for maximum relaxation. I also made good use of the pool. The pool is a little small and a bit too shallow for an adult, but you can still have an enjoyable swim. Lastly, the tea room and cafés are also a nice addition to the hotel. My second room didn't have a table and chairs like the original one I booked, so I went to the tea room to eat my breakfast. It's also a cozy and comfortable room just to relax in if you're feeling lazy. As I have mentioned throughout this review, the service is second to none. Not only did the staff help me get to the hotel, but after I checked out they also carried my luggage and escorted me to the taxi. Throughout my stay I was offered fresh fruit and coffee several times, and as I mentioned earlier, I was immediately helped when I had to change my room. Whenever I struggled to communicate in Mandarin, the staff would try their best to speak English or would be patient with my hesitation or mispronunciation in Mandarin. This is probably the best ever service I have experienced on my travels. In summary, it's a beautiful hotel, in a convenient location with great facilities and helpful and kind staff. Not only will I come back again (and with my family next time) but I will recommend all my friends and colleagues to stay at this hotel if they ever plan to visit Zhouzhuang.

AAnonymous UserI am very satisfied with the service of this orange hotel The facilities are very new and just opened this year. The service is also very good. We will respond to parking, takeout, late check-out, etc. Breakfast is also rich in variety, fresh and delicious I particularly like the location because it is within walking distance from the Kunshan Culture and Art Center. It is so convenient to watch performances from Shanghai, especially when there are some popular performances that cannot be bought in Shanghai. The curve saves the country and the price-performance ratio is unparalleled.

GGuest UserNow, I can sit here and tell you that we’re staying in an eco-friendly hotel that even though you’re inside its high glass windows gives you an outdoor vibe. I can even sit and talk about the saline pool, its state-of-the-art gym and list all the amenities; and I can even talk about the number of rooms and the fact that as we speak there’s an international summit going on here. Somehow that won’t speak about my experience here at this hotel. Elements (by Westin) Suzhou Science & Technology Town does have all of the above BUT what I love about this hotel is its Staff. I love the fact that they seem to be always be here. I somehow believe that they live onsite because they’re always around. In the morning, even before I enter the Salon I hear, “Nǐ hǎo Marsha” from the Breakfast Host, followed up by the nice lady in the Salon, smiling at me and ushering me to the coffee machine, while handing me my 2 brown sugar packs. She knows my morning habits so quickly. Not only that, because they knew Peter was missing from my breakfast table for a few mornings, they now signal to me with take away containers for Peter, to have his breakfast in the room. When we need to go anywhere the young ladies at the Front Desk (no matter which Shift) are always either asking us where we need to go so that they can call a CASH taxi to get us to our destination. One of them even came with me one day to the Bank of China’s ATM and sat in the taxi while I went in and conducted my business and accompanied me to the Campus to visit Jon-Marc. Yesterday, one of them even used her own Didi account to get us transportation back to the hotel and we reimbursed her (and walked away while she was trying to give us back our change because we knew she wouldn’t have taken the Tip as is their custom). How else could we have shown her how grateful we were for her kind gesture? Then there is Simon Jiang, the General Manager, who speaks perfect English and is always there to assist and offer suggestions of things to do and places to go. Simon was the one who actually explained to me that you can’t just walk into a pharmacy and get anything without a prescription. What I can tell you is that even though he is the GM he is always on hand assisting the staff with their work. Even though there is a clear hierarchy here, he takes off his jacket and assists in the kitchen, you can sometimes see him helping the older ladies bring out the heavy equipment (if needed) when they’re cleaning the floors, clear tables, etc. Or Alex Ju, the Assistant General Manager, who accompanied Peter and I to the hospital and stayed and spoke with the doctor and the international insurance department on our behalf (in Mandarin) to make everything a little easier for us. These people are the ones who have made my stay here memorable and I can honestly say that its because of them that I would recommend Elements by Westin in Suzhou to ANYONE who wanted a place to stay without hassle and with a host of helpful, courteous, friendly staff. It has been my pleasure having encountered such warm, friendly, delightful and gentle human beings.

RRuthWe were happy with our stay here. The room was nicer than it looked online, and the hotel was really clean. There are playrooms for young children that are free (3 rooms with some different toys in each room). The rooms are a bit old and tired, but my 2 year old enjoyed playing there and requested UK hi back lots of times. For parents it is just great to have somewhere for your kid to play and have fun, especially as the weather was very cold when we went! Outside there is a play area and sand digging pit. Location is walking distance from Tongli old town. Restaurant does evening buffet, and buffet breakfast. The food is fine, more Chinese than western, my husband really liked it and my favourite part was the Beijing roast duck at dinner. The pool is warm, with floats and rubber rings to borrow. There is a little land train, it takes a 10 minute trip around the hotel grounds and the cost is 20RMB for one adult and child. For me it was very boring but my son loved it 😂 The staff are very warm and friendly, everyone is very professional. Each guest is connected to a butler on wechat before they arrive so you can easily send a message and get some help. Our butler is Yu Ting and she helped us very professionally. For me, the things the hotel can improve are (1) the animal petting zoo - by western standard the facilities for the animals are not very good, just concrete enclosure with hut. For foreigners, we do not really like this. (2) We had a problem with the other guests smoking in the hotel, eg in the coffee bar. When I complained to the staff they tried to stop the guests, but even though they repeatedly reminded them to stop, the other guests continued. In the end they arranged for me to move to a private room near the bar where I could avoid the smoking. I was very grateful that they found a solution for me and my baby, but I am speechless there are such guests who flagrantly break the rules and the hotel cannot stop them. We smelled smoke in some different public areas, so maybe this is a problem with several guests 🙁 Overall we are happy with our stay and it is a good place to spend a few days with kids.

SSunsuntravelYiman Hotel, located in the picturesque Ping Jiang Road Scenic Area in Suzhou, offers a charming mix of traditional Chinese aesthetics and modern comfort. Situated in the heart of one of Suzhou’s most historic districts, the hotel provides guests with easy access to the city’s renowned gardens, canals, and ancient architecture, making it an ideal base for exploring the cultural heart of this UNESCO World Heritage city. ### **Location: 10/10** The hotel’s location is one of its greatest assets. Nestled along Ping Jiang Road, a picturesque, tree-lined street, the hotel is within walking distance of some of Suzhou's most famous landmarks, such as the Pingjiang Ancient Street and the Lion Grove Garden. The scenic district is a blend of old-world charm, with its traditional Chinese architecture, canals, and boutique shops. Guests can easily stroll along the narrow streets and explore the city's rich history, or take a short drive to other must-visit sites like the Humble Administrator’s Garden and Suzhou Museum. The proximity to these attractions makes the hotel an ideal choice for travelers interested in Suzhou’s cultural heritage. ### **Ambience and Design: 9/10** Yiman Hotel's design is a blend of classic Suzhou charm and modern functionality. The hotel is housed in a traditional building that retains the elegance of old Suzhou, with wooden beams, silk accents, and antique-style furniture. The interior design evokes a peaceful, serene atmosphere, with soft lighting and artful touches that recall the tranquility of Suzhou’s famous gardens. The rooms are spacious, featuring modern amenities such as comfortable beds, flat-screen TVs, and air conditioning, while also incorporating traditional Chinese decor. The mix of old and new gives the rooms a cozy yet sophisticated feel. The bathrooms are well-equipped with high-quality toiletries and clean, contemporary fixtures. CCameo19A beautiful hotel, modern and stylish with lovely gardens and surroundings, worthy of IG photos. The hotel gave me a free upgrade, an executive suite with a private garden!! I was so surprised with the garden, such a delightful space with seating. Bed was very comfortable, free mini bar on the first day, and a stylish bathroom with bath tub. Breakfast was sufficient. The front desk staff spoke English and were very helpful in booking my boat trip, also thanks to Peter who was very courteous. Location is excellent, metro is a few metres away, and there is a new shopping village with some lovely western restaurants plus lots of stylish bars. The gardens are also nearby. Highly recommend this hotel.

AAnonymous UserHighly recommended, the staffs are very helpful and polite especially Mia, she guided us the tour of the hotel. The garden is huge and beautiful landscape, there were free live performances at the evening. Very handy and close the tourist area such as The Humble Administrator Garden. We will book again if we visit Suzhou.

Very Good
LLaoDaWeiThis was my go to hotel in Suzhou for location and price. The room facilities are excellent - with a fully equipped kitchen. The rooms are not modern but have a dated charm - there is also a window in the bathroom and a bathtub for those that like a soak. The breakfast is above average. My one complaint AND IT'S A BIG ONE! In the executive studios the bathroom doors have been wedged open - this is clearly a privacy issue but also the kitchen is next to the bathroom. No-one wants to stare at a toilet while they are cooking lunch. What were the management thinking - ruining a perfectly good room! A couple of stars knocked off until that issue is sorted!
