Best Hotels in Hemphill County

This is a great stopping point on a Route 66 trip or any trip for that matter. The motel has wonderful hard-working owners. The room and property are very clean and well maintained. Breakfast was served and the Texas shaped waffle was a fun addition. You cannot beat the price-the best price of any room on our trip. All ground floor rooms and park by the door. We will surely stay here again if we pass by in the future.

First off, YAY for FANTASTIC customer service :-) Zayra at the front desk warmly welcomed us with a BIG SMILE :-D and check in was quick & EZ. Hubby wears a leg brace and she thoughtfully assigned us the ”just right” room which saved him extra steps. This means a LOT when every step hurts. Freshly baked cookies in the lobby were hard to resist. Room was spacious & spotless w/fridge/micro & flat screen TV. Free wifi w/ample signal to stream Netflix, check weather, double check routing for the next day, etc. Slept well on super comfortable beds with nice linens and lots of fat, fluffy pillows. A/C kept the room nicely cooled off. Parking lot was well lit and we felt our vehicles were safe. One in our group of travelers used the exercise room and enjoyed dinner at the Steak House next door. Next morning we left out early so can't comment on continental, but thanks to smiling Denise checkout was every bit as quick & EZ as check in. We left feeling that our business was appreciated, and will definitely be back :-)

We were looking for a safe, convenient spot to stay for one night while traveling cross country. Recently, my husband and I realized that we enjoy little roadside motels from the Route 66 heyday era. The Cactus Inn checked all the boxes! It was convenient to get to off of I-40. The location was quiet and felt safe. Our room was simply adorable - the “Oklahoma” room - and very clean. We booked through Expedia and received a great rate. Check-in was friendly and efficient. This is basic lodging, but fits the bill perfectly for a quick night’s stop. We would definitely stay here again!!! The only suggestion I would make is to have a way to separately lock the door from inside. The electronic lock on our door kept making a noise during the night like it was being unlocked - even though we were inside with the only guest key. My husband suggested that maybe the battery in the lock was going bad. It just scared us the first couple times until we realized what the noise was.

Being from Pampa knowing the good and bad of the town I honestly didn’t have high expectations. The hotel was newer so I knew it would be updated and the location was convenient but little did I know they would be one of the best stays. The hotel was clean. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Misty and Audrey were great, actually every staff member I ran into was friendly. The breakfast was satisfying even the last day I was surprised to find chorizo and potatoes on the breakfast bar. As we checked out and left I got a call that I had left my jacket. If you have to stay in Pampa this is where you want to stay.

Not up to HIE standards but not overall terrible. The main AC is out so they are leaving the front doors open to keep the lobby cool. (room units work fine) Unfortunately this is allowing all sorts of bugs in. So like some of the other reviews we too had problems with multiple bugs. If this is not a recent problem then why hasn't it been fixed? Pool was absolutely filthy but it was so hot I wouldn't want to be the one cleaning it either. Also if the AC is out why on earth do they still have the pool HEATER on?? Water was warm but not what you want when it's 90 degrees outside with no air conditioning. There was also a decaying mouse in the little outside hallway by the pool. You could clearly see it walking past the pool windows and it had clearly been there a while. Room was nice and clean. Bed comfortable if you like a firm mattress. I do not but still slept ok. Jacuzzi worked fine and was also clean. Staff were courteous enough. Left before breakfast so can't comment on food. Overall we've been to and promptly left worse and have definitely stayed at better. Price was great though especially if you're just making a pit stop to sleep and move on.
