Just back from a thoroughly enjoyable stay. The staff made us feel so welcome especially the bartender Yannis (Gentjav) who not only serves great cocktails but is a true gentleman and gave us lots of advice and local recommendations. It's a small hotel I'd say more suited to adults but it was clean, the food was lovely and there was a good fresh selection every day. The location is perfect, few minutes from the beach, bars and walking distance to the quieter traditional villages just 10 minutes away. Completely made us fall in love with Crete.

Me and my partner stayed here for 7 nights through jet 2 and to put it simply, there is no way this is a 4/5 star hotel. I feel as though there are only selective photos available of this hotel on the jet 2 website/ hotel website as the rooms are lovely and modern however everything else is extremely out dated and not how it is made to look like. We encountered our very first problem when we arrived at the hotel to check in at around 2am. We were obviously very tired from 12 hours of travelling and we approach the reception with the 2 other couples who have arrived. The receptionist proceeds to advise us we need to email the hotel our confirmation bookings as proof that we are staying here, this is also being done in couples one by one and we were being told to sit down and relax. At 2am. The first couple couldn’t even get onto the hotel wifi to send the email over, they were having troubles for well over 10 minutes when I went over to the desk and asked if I could just do it myself now instead of waiting around. Eventually, they received my email and I then had to stand there and fill in a form with all of mine and my partners details on, why do they not have this information available themselves? Then we had to pay the €70 hotel tax, we were fully aware of this however I think it should definitely be outlined on the website(s) as one of the other couples had no idea it was a thing and neither of the other couples had cash available to pay it. Next up is the food, I am not too much of a fussy eater however the same food is made every day and there isn’t a wide range of variety on offer. Someone who is a picky eater would definitely struggle if they were here. We paid to be all inclusive but ended up going out to eat most nights as it just wasn’t an enjoyable experience. Onto the outside pool area, we went down to the outside pool with the bar area a few times and there was always a surplus amount of bugs and ants all over the floors. I came to realise that this was from the drinks that had been dropped over the floors and the floors hadn’t been cleaned so there was just ants and spiders absolutely everywhere, all over the sun loungers, floors, and climbing into my belongings. Although I have overall been really disappointed with my stay, I was very pleased with the cleaners, they did such a fantastic job of making the room absolutely spotless every time they went in and that definitely made me feel better. However, every morning we were woken up by loud families shouting along the corridors, slamming doors and generally just being very noisy. I am not the type of person to be bothered by this but the walls must be so thin that you can hear absolutely everything along the corridors so it would wake us up every morning. Finally, we are flying quite late on the way home (12:30am) but our checkout is at 12pm. Once we checkout, we can no longer use the all inclusive facilities so essentially we will need to walk around Crete with our suitcases for ar

I will try and keep this review to the point. Arrived for a 7 day stay at this hotel. Hotel looks amazing from everywhere. Booked a dazzling sea view room and when we arrived I realised it was not a dazzling sea view room and was more what other hotels would refer to as a partial sea view room - showing slight sea view from a corner. I raised it with staff who advised it was sea view but could look at it tomorrow which given the time I agreed to. I also raised it with my travel company. The following morning in the afternoon I was shown another room which wasn’t a proper sea view either. Given that I paid a considerable amount more for a sea view I wasn’t happy with the room provided. I showed the guy in reception the photo of the room I chose when booking and he told me that it “was just marketing” to which I responded it’s false advertising - he then walked off and left us. Later in the day we had a call from guest relations to ask how our first night had been etc which was nice and I explained the night had been ok but room wasn’t good. The lady told me I was in a urban city room not a dazzling sea view which I had chosen and paid more for. I later received a call from my travel company who advised that another room would be shown. Guest manager maria advised she wasn’t sure why we had been told it was city urban view but the new room was front facing sea view - we eventually moved on day 2 and there was no reimbur*****t for the days we were in the incorrect room. The new room was good but just a shame that it took so long to resolve as nobody wants a bad start to their holiday. My second critique of this hotel is front reception staff - mainly the men. Their attitude is poor and any questions appear to be a chore for them. When we arrived I asked about late checkout as our flight wasn’t until 11.55pm. I was told to request it a day before which I did. I was then told to come at 9pm and I explained I had dinner reservations but would come later In the night. I already knew there was an additional charge to keep the room which I was happy to pay. I was then told the hotel was fully booked and late checkout was not available now but we would have access to facilities. This again left a sour note to the holiday as it meant we had to rush and pack and then didn’t have comforts of using bathroom or resting etc. I also checked the hotel website and *********** which showed the hotel did have room availability so the guy on reception was being dishonest. I did challenge him On this but he didn’t appear to care and said if I wanted to book another room I could but it wouldn’t be ready until 3pm the next day. I could write so much more about this experience but overall it really ruined the day and final day of holiday. What was meant to be a relaxing day ended up being stressful as we had to be out the room by 11 and then had nowhere to really rest. Now onto the positives because there are some. Sun beds / beach etc is accessible and you can get a be

we just returned after 7 days in the paradise called aldemar knossos villas. everything is superlative. we were accommodated in the maisonette knossos villa with all inclusive regime. I chose this place for my 10 year wedding anniversary and my husband's birthday. impeccable everything about services, food, beaches, landscapes, peace, extremely peace. superlative cleanliness. all the staff led by Spyros and our personal PR Katerina made us feel like royalty. the fantastic breakfast in the Fontana Amorosa restaurant exclusively for the villas, the gourmet restaurants and the one on the beach exceeded all our expectations in terms of luxury and the freshness of the food. we felt like princes and princesses, the surprises and gifts for our wedding anniversary and my husband's birthday were exceptional. I warmly and openly recommend this hotel chain, we are preparing to book another week at the beginning of October. thank you for everything aldemar knossos villas. see you soon!

4 adults currently in the middle of our stay here...we leave on the 10th June. The first night and day we were so happy to have booked this (a special treat for my 40th birthday and belated honeymoon). Reception and check in was smooth, we were shown our rooms (the other couple got fruit and wine...we had only soft drinks in our room which was a little hiccup.) Day 1 despite not being able to get a sunbed at any pool or on the beach we had the most delightful food at Candia restaurant in the evening on my birthday. We did find our first day hard...everything is a qr scan...all menus, directories, map etc...you do have to figure everything out for yourself...and the rest of the time you get revered to concierge. there's also no info on hotel entertainment either...it makes things hard to plan. Day 2 On check in we were told we could book the other 2 restaurants for our dinners..by day 2 EVERY RESTAURANT is fully booked. The main restaurant is lovely, the food is delicious but it's not the same as a restaurant experience where you can dress up for dinner and enjoy the time with loved ones. The eception just told us that the hotel is very busy and that was that...there was a real lack of empathy. It feels like the main directive is to make it as hard as possible for guests to fully take advantage of what is advertised on the website. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a 2 restaurants policy per room. Had we known that you need to book 3 weeks in advance, we would have but even prior emails to the hotel before we arrived took a few days to be replied to. The hotel is beautiful, well maintained and the restaurant and bar staff are all wonderful but I doubt we would recommend it to others...far from relaxing, it's been quite hard work.
