Datong Inns

The moment I entered the inn, I was struck by the beautiful setting. The courtyard is beautifully decorated, complete with a swing, and the ancient architecture is renovated with a modern touch. The rooms are new and clean, making it a safe place for children. I highly recommend the service. The staff was incredibly smiling throughout, proactively explaining the area and nearby attractions, and reminding us to get a table in advance for dining, which was a real plus. The rooftop terrace offers excellent drone viewing without the crowds. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of the city, right at the entrance to Gulou East Street, making it convenient for dining, shopping, and other attractions. I'll definitely be staying here when I visit Shanxi.

On this trip, after leaving my job, I've stayed in many places, but Datong was the most surprising city. It's full of historical sites, delicious food, and a vibrant, down-to-earth atmosphere. But what surprised me even more was the guesthouse I chose. I did extensive research and ultimately decided to stay within the ancient city, which turned out to be incredibly convenient for dining, lodging, and getting around. It was fantastic and perfectly suited me. Initially, I considered guesthouses in the Southeast District, but they were all new, and their styles were quite similar and unremarkable, much like guesthouses in other cities. So, I picked one with unique traditional Chinese characteristics, and it completely exceeded my expectations. The breakfast was exactly to my liking – nutritious and light. The room was warm and cozy, and the toiletry kit was amazing, with thoughtful items inside. Even though it's been in the ancient city for ten years, the decor and renovation show no sign of age; it's incredibly well-maintained. The housekeeper mentioned they had just upgraded all the rooms before my arrival, haha! 😄 This guesthouse truly helped my restless mind calm down. It felt like staying in a museum. The aunties and housekeepers working here told me stories about every single object and corner, which deeply moved me. This is what a guesthouse should be – unpretentious and full of stories. The biggest surprise this time was having the chance to meet the owner, a wonderful lady. She was so nice, I initially thought she was just another staff member; she had absolutely no airs. More importantly, her experiences and background are incredible – she does extreme sports and has even climbed Mount Everest! Talking with her made me feel so comfortable and helped me let go of a lot of things. Thank you for the encounter; it was truly destiny. This was the most unexpected gain from my trip to Datong, and I will definitely go back if I get the chance! It felt just like home, with no sense of unfamiliarity whatsoever.

This stay experience is particularly good! The location of the hotel is excellent, just in the ancient city of Datong, it is 20 meters away from the bus and walk, and it is very convenient to travel. Opposite is the Xijin Road knife noodles, convenient dining, and close to Huayan Temple and other attractions. The room was clean and tidy, the living was comfortable, the front desk service was intimate and thoughtful, the water was delivered in time, the overall price was very high, highly recommended!

Hygienic: The hotel is very clean and the room has no smell. Environment: The yard outside is very large, and there is a sense of atmosphere at night. There are small animals in the yard. You can also see the flowers and plants outside from the windows on the first floor. Facilities: The facilities are very new and easy to use. The sink also has hot water 24 hours a day. Service: The hotel owner is very enthusiastic. It was very late when I arrived at the hotel, but the boss was still waiting for me at the door. He was very enthusiastic to help us check in. He told the boss that he was worried about the hot temperature of the room. The boss specially arranged the room on the first floor. I will bring friends to experience it next time~😁

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. There is quite a bit to see around Lingqiu, and I should have stayed one extra night or two. Miss Liu (刘小姐), the front receptionist, was extremely helpful, even going all the way to accompany me to the bus stop to catch the bus heading to the Pingxingguan Battle site. Miss Liu also assisted with booking a cab for my visit to the Jueshan Pagoda. This famous Pagoda was founded before England was established by William the Conqueror (if I am wrong, then pardon me, but the Pagoda was built sometime before 1077 A.D. during the Northern Wei Dynasty). Miss Liu also directed me to the gravesite of King Wu of the Northern Wei Dynasty which is right in downtown Lingqiu. There are numerous restaurants within walking distance of this hotel. One restaurant, next door to the right of the hotel, serves a wondering braised fish; the other a few doors away, sells delicious meat pies. My room was professionally cleaned and serviced daily. The hotel even allows me to doze off on the reception floor sofa to await my night train to Beijing. I will return to this hotel if I return to Lingqiu.

Excellent value for money, spotlessly clean, and the staff provide great service. Breakfast is included, and the location offers very convenient transportation for exploring. In the evenings, it's lovely to stroll out to the square and enjoy the cool air. I wholeheartedly recommend Wutongge Hotel to anyone planning a trip to Datong.

Opposite the Hunyuan County Bus Station, the transportation is convenient, the hotel is very clean, the infrastructure is complete, the first floor of the hotel is a supermarket, bottled water and zero food prices can be, the stay experience is good

The hotel is next to the Aegean Shopping Mall, near Datong Railway Station, and the bus is also convenient. In terms of food, there are many choices and people are frugal. In the community, the hotel is a small operation to provide different types of rooms. The equipment is easy to take care of and new, and the hygiene is qualified. The hotel lacks two bottles of water supply, and guests are required to buy it, － yuan a bottle. As another guest complained, the shower head and system are not working properly, and the replacement is not expensive, which will make the guest more comfortable to bathe. There are also three-type charging heads in the room, and ordinary hotels and hotels are generally lacking, which is heartwarming. The front desk is also enthusiastic. It is a satisfactory choice for －.

The sanitation is generally not very careful. The toilet was not cleaned when I first checked in. There was a suspected ** on the sheets. 😩 I asked the aunt to clean it again. The breakfast arrangement was not careful. The location was relatively remote. The advantage was that it was close to the airport high-speed rail station, but it was not very good. Take a taxi, But it's not expensive to take a fast train in Datong.

The staff was very friendly and the clean room and the hotel were very well located from Datung.
