"Facilities: The design is excellent, and all the amenities are thoughtfully arranged and very practical. The bed and pillows are incredibly comfortable; lying down felt so therapeutic, and I fell asleep almost instantly. Hygiene: The hygiene was impeccable. Environment: The location is perfect, within walking distance of Daiwang Mansion, Drum Tower, and Huayan Temple. After watching the iron flower performance at night, it was just a short stroll back to bed. Service: The service was incredibly attentive and prompt. The butler recommended many delicious local eateries, and they were all indeed fantastic. The tea at the front desk was also delightful; I'd fill my thermos every time I went out – it was so comforting. They even offered a thoughtful bedtime gift, making the overall experience incredibly pleasant."

"The inn is located near the North Gate of the Ancient City, and it was easy to find. On the day of arrival, the host even called in advance to ask if we needed a pick-up, which was a very thoughtful touch. The surroundings are quite quiet, and getting around is convenient. It's about a kilometer's walk to Huayan Temple, and taxis are readily available for attractions further afield. The inn seems to have been recently renovated; everything is new, clean, and hygienic. The room size is a bit small, but the space is utilized reasonably well. The wall-mounted water dispenser next to the washbasin is very convenient, offering direct drinking water at various temperatures. The mattress was neither too soft nor too firm, and the bedding was clean and comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. However, the lack of a wet/dry separation in the bathroom was a slight drawback. After showering, not only did the toilet get completely wet, but there was water on the floor when entering and exiting, leading to footprints everywhere, which was a bit inconvenient. Other than that, everything else was great. I also want to commend the host, a lovely lady who was gentle and thoughtful. Her voice was soft, and her smile was like a breath of fresh air. When I asked about local food, she was very patient and genuinely shared her recommendations and locations. Overall, the stay was a great experience. Thank you."

"I booked a B&B before staying at this hotel. It had a strong smell and the actual area was less than 70 square meters. Then I came to this one. As soon as I entered the house, there was no strange smell. The room was spacious and bright, and the layout was reasonable. We were two adults and two children, and it was very spacious. The landlady was also very nice and sent me a lot of places to eat and shop. There is a shopping mall downstairs, which is quite good. The parking fee was over 20, but it is negligible! Definitely five stars."

"Family room. Let's start with the positives. The location is convenient. The staff is friendly and responsive. Welcome fruit, a children's toothbrush, and slippers are provided upon check-in. Breakfast is also acceptable. A souvenir is also provided upon check-out. These are all very good. However, the design of this room type feels a bit lackluster. It's more suitable for couples. Upon entering, there's a large bathtub in front of the queen-size bed. The shower is only partially covered. There's only a hollow wooden partition between the two queen-size beds. Only the bathroom is fully enclosed. Since the room is on the top floor, the three small, one-square-meter windows are raised and lowered from the ceiling. During heavy rain, they can't be opened for fresh air. The air conditioning is not very good. I contacted the front desk to request a small fan, which finally circulates the air in the inner room. I would appreciate a shower curtain in the bathroom and curtains for the partition. Even for a family, curtains are at least necessary."

"The location is great, near the west gate in the ancient city (about five minutes walk), three minutes walk to Huayan Temple, five or six minutes walk to Sandaocai Bell Tower, and one minute to Huayan Temple bus station. During the May Day holiday, the ancient city is restricted by time, so the area near the bus station and the ancient city gate is very important. If you stay in the B&B hotels in the ancient street at the entrance of Huayan Temple, you have to walk out to take a bus (the pedestrian street car can't enter), so the location is really amazing. The scenic spots in the ancient city can be reached by bus. The first floor is the lobby (café), the second floor is the guest rooms, restaurant and courtyard, and there is a balcony on the second floor, where you can drink tea or coffee while looking at Huayan Temple. The breakfast is a set meal, very healthy, with fruits, eggs, vegetables, co**** grains, knife-cut noodles, bread slices, etc. The room we stayed in was not particularly large, but it was ok. Only the bathroom was slightly small, with complete bathroom supplies and clean hygiene. The service was very good, there was water and sea buckthorn juice in the room, and it was a very warm family. The child said that he would stay here again when he came to Datong next time, and he wanted to change to a room with a loft."

"On the day I checked in, I was shown available rooms in two different buildings. I felt the main building was better. The front desk and restaurant are all in one building, so even if the weather's bad, I don't have to go outside for breakfast. Plus, the main building felt fresher and cleaner. The room facilities show that the renovation was done with great care; they used very good brands. The heating, toiletries, and bedding were all very comfortable. I even wanted to ask the owner what brand the down comforters were! The mini-bar had snacks, fruit, and even books about ancient architecture, which was great for planning sightseeing. It was quite close to Daiwang Mansion, where we watched the iron flower show at night. To get to the Drum Tower area or Huayan Temple, you could cycle, take a taxi, or walk a bit further. Breakfast was simple but more than sufficient. The knife-cut noodles and bean flour were both good. I used the pick-up service on the day I arrived, and I received a call as soon as I landed. Overall, I was quite satisfied with my stay and would recommend it to friends visiting Datong."

GGuest UserIve just left the Inn and on the train to the next destination. I wish I could stay longer as this was such a pleasant stay. The boss lady was so nice. I booked just a basic room but got upgraded to almost a studio flat with separate bedroom in the mezzanine and lounge downstairs. Everytime I come back from sightseeing, all hot tired, the boss lady gave me a bowl of delicious melons. It was sweet and juicy. The best melons I have had. The second time she also gave me bananas. It was so much needed. The hotel is in the perfect location. Thank you for a wonderful stay. 1. From Datongnan station there are buses 608 or 61 which takes you directly to Huayansi stop, less than 1min from the hotel. However, the hotel frontage is a jewelry shop, I didn't know so ended up walking up/down the street for 10mins before the boss lady realised and came out to tell me I have arrived. 2. If you want to go to Yungang Grottoes. From the same bus stop take bus 38, then change to bus 3 to get to the Grottoes. Journey time about an hour in total. And cost 4RMB (2RMB per bus). However, you have to set up some kind of public travel app from Wechat to get the QR code to pay the bus fare. I didn't know this. Fortunately, some nice people helped pay my fare, then another lovely girl helped set up the app enabling me to use the bus from then as when I arrived and took the bus from the train station to hotel Wechatpay didn't work. Fortunately the driver let me ride for free as I guess he realised Im foreign and don't have this app. Only when I took the bus to Yungang Grottoes, the girl told me I need to set up the travel app etc and helped me set it up. 3. The hotel is also right opposite to the Huayan temple. A beautiful ancient temple. Deffo can't be missed. GGuest UserDatong Wangfu Zhizun Hotel definitely deserves five stars! The location is superb, close to the ancient city and convenient for getting around. The room was super spacious, clean, tidy, and the bedding was comfortable. The service was warm and attentive, and the front desk was efficient. The breakfast was plentiful, with local specialties like lamb offal soup and knife-cut noodles. Free underground parking was also very convenient. Overall, it offers great value for money. This is my top choice when visiting Datong!
