"The inn is located near the North Gate of the Ancient City, and it was easy to find. On the day of arrival, the host even called in advance to ask if we needed a pick-up, which was a very thoughtful touch. The surroundings are quite quiet, and getting around is convenient. It's about a kilometer's walk to Huayan Temple, and taxis are readily available for attractions further afield. The inn seems to have been recently renovated; everything is new, clean, and hygienic. The room size is a bit small, but the space is utilized reasonably well. The wall-mounted water dispenser next to the washbasin is very convenient, offering direct drinking water at various temperatures. The mattress was neither too soft nor too firm, and the bedding was clean and comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. However, the lack of a wet/dry separation in the bathroom was a slight drawback. After showering, not only did the toilet get completely wet, but there was water on the floor when entering and exiting, leading to footprints everywhere, which was a bit inconvenient. Other than that, everything else was great. I also want to commend the host, a lovely lady who was gentle and thoughtful. Her voice was soft, and her smile was like a breath of fresh air. When I asked about local food, she was very patient and genuinely shared her recommendations and locations. Overall, the stay was a great experience. Thank you."

This stay really exceeded expectations, and must be praised by stars! - The design is full: the room is a modern and simple style I love, the terrazzo sink, the vine partition and the Japanese tatami area, every detail is tasteful, the photo hair circle is asked! - The sense of space is absolutely perfect: the open layout makes the whole room look particularly spacious, the bedding is soft and comfortable, and there is a super healing leisure area. The city view outside the window is simply the top enjoyment of the holiday. The view is super good, the child is super happy to climb on the window sill to watch the fireworks! - Details control ecstasy: The projection, atmosphere lights, and intimate small ornaments in the room can all see the boss's intentions. The bathroom is separated from wet and dry, clean and spotless, so there is no need to worry about hygiene. - Service is super intimate: from check-in to check-out, the whole experience is very smooth, the staff is warm and thoughtful, people feel as comfortable as at a friend's house. It was really a perfect stay experience, I have included it in my ”must live list”, I will choose here next time! Highly recommend to all friends who pursue quality and atmosphere!"

"Received a warm call from the hotel on the high-speed train to Datong, offering pickup service. The room itself was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully designed in a traditional Chinese style. I especially want to highlight the breakfast – it was nutritious, light, and featured local specialties. I left feeling completely full, and the coffee was excellent! The front desk service deserves five stars; they made me feel truly at home. It's a shame I don't have photos of the hotel on this phone, they're on another."

"On the day I checked in, I was shown available rooms in two different buildings. I felt the main building was better. The front desk and restaurant are all in one building, so even if the weather's bad, I don't have to go outside for breakfast. Plus, the main building felt fresher and cleaner. The room facilities show that the renovation was done with great care; they used very good brands. The heating, toiletries, and bedding were all very comfortable. I even wanted to ask the owner what brand the down comforters were! The mini-bar had snacks, fruit, and even books about ancient architecture, which was great for planning sightseeing. It was quite close to Daiwang Mansion, where we watched the iron flower show at night. To get to the Drum Tower area or Huayan Temple, you could cycle, take a taxi, or walk a bit further. Breakfast was simple but more than sufficient. The knife-cut noodles and bean flour were both good. I used the pick-up service on the day I arrived, and I received a call as soon as I landed. Overall, I was quite satisfied with my stay and would recommend it to friends visiting Datong."

"The hotel, though a bit hidden, is located in a building a five-minute walk from the center of Datong. The rooms are very spacious, clean, and well-equipped, with fantastic views of the river and part of the city. Above all, I would like to highlight the friendliness and helpfulness of the hotel staff. They took care of organizing our visit to Hengshan Temple, assisting us with purchasing tickets and the visit itself. We couldn't have asked for more; they made our visit to Datong perfect."

Ive just left the Inn and on the train to the next destination. I wish I could stay longer as this was such a pleasant stay. The boss lady was so nice. I booked just a basic room but got upgraded to almost a studio flat with separate bedroom in the mezzanine and lounge downstairs. Everytime I come back from sightseeing, all hot tired, the boss lady gave me a bowl of delicious melons. It was sweet and juicy. The best melons I have had. The second time she also gave me bananas. It was so much needed. The hotel is in the perfect location. Thank you for a wonderful stay. 1. From Datongnan station there are buses 608 or 61 which takes you directly to Huayansi stop, less than 1min from the hotel. However, the hotel frontage is a jewelry shop, I didn't know so ended up walking up/down the street for 10mins before the boss lady realised and came out to tell me I have arrived. 2. If you want to go to Yungang Grottoes. From the same bus stop take bus 38, then change to bus 3 to get to the Grottoes. Journey time about an hour in total. And cost 4RMB (2RMB per bus). However, you have to set up some kind of public travel app from Wechat to get the QR code to pay the bus fare. I didn't know this. Fortunately, some nice people helped pay my fare, then another lovely girl helped set up the app enabling me to use the bus from then as when I arrived and took the bus from the train station to hotel Wechatpay didn't work. Fortunately the driver let me ride for free as I guess he realised Im foreign and don't have this app. Only when I took the bus to Yungang Grottoes, the girl told me I need to set up the travel app etc and helped me set it up. 3. The hotel is also right opposite to the Huayan temple. A beautiful ancient temple. Deffo can't be missed. I will be uploading more photos and videos of my stay in Datong and travels in China on my YouTube channels once I'm back in UK. Datong Wangfu Zhizun Hotel definitely deserves five stars! The location is superb, close to the ancient city and convenient for getting around. The room was super spacious, clean, tidy, and the bedding was comfortable. The service was warm and attentive, and the front desk was efficient. The breakfast was plentiful, with local specialties like lamb offal soup and knife-cut noodles. Free underground parking was also very convenient. Overall, it offers great value for money. This is my top choice when visiting Datong!

Non-smoking room was created on the fly for us. Consequently the smell of smoke lingered on in the room. Service was extremely prompt. The person taking care of our laubdry ran up the stairs faster than me. Comfortable beds. Excellent breakfast. Limited English language capabilities.
