"The inn is located near the North Gate of the Ancient City, and it was easy to find. On the day of arrival, the host even called in advance to ask if we needed a pick-up, which was a very thoughtful touch. The surroundings are quite quiet, and getting around is convenient. It's about a kilometer's walk to Huayan Temple, and taxis are readily available for attractions further afield. The inn seems to have been recently renovated; everything is new, clean, and hygienic. The room size is a bit small, but the space is utilized reasonably well. The wall-mounted water dispenser next to the washbasin is very convenient, offering direct drinking water at various temperatures. The mattress was neither too soft nor too firm, and the bedding was clean and comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. However, the lack of a wet/dry separation in the bathroom was a slight drawback. After showering, not only did the toilet get completely wet, but there was water on the floor when entering and exiting, leading to footprints everywhere, which was a bit inconvenient. Other than that, everything else was great. I also want to commend the host, a lovely lady who was gentle and thoughtful. Her voice was soft, and her smile was like a breath of fresh air. When I asked about local food, she was very patient and genuinely shared her recommendations and locations. Overall, the stay was a great experience. Thank you."

"Received a warm call from the hotel on the high-speed train to Datong, offering pickup service. The room itself was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully designed in a traditional Chinese style. I especially want to highlight the breakfast – it was nutritious, light, and featured local specialties. I left feeling completely full, and the coffee was excellent! The front desk service deserves five stars; they made me feel truly at home. It's a shame I don't have photos of the hotel on this phone, they're on another."

"I don't usually write reviews, but this trip, the hotel I chose for two nights genuinely made me feel so comfortable. The front desk attendant was incredibly thoughtful; when she saw I was going cycling with wide-leg pants, she kindly found a rubber band for me to tie them up, warning they might get caught in the bike chain. Secondly, the location is incredibly quiet, and the blackout curtains in the room were top-notch. Two nights of excellent sleep put me in an even better mood. Thirdly, while the breakfast corner looked small with limited options, it covered both Chinese and Western tastes. The best part was the small wontons and sliced noodles – I honestly think they were better than what you'd find in restaurants on Dianping! Lastly, although the room itself wasn't huge, the small courtyards around the property and the sunken underground lounge area gave it a warm, home-like feel. Oh, and for my cycling trips, the hotel's location was incredibly convenient, adding a special kind of joy to my two days of freely exploring the ancient city! What else? They even had charging spaces for guests (a pleasant surprise!), complimentary fresh fruit, and coffee (a must-have for me! And iced Americano, no less!). Plus, they upgraded me for one night when available (a nice little bonus)!"

The rooms are very spacious, clean, and well-equipped, with fantastic views of the river and part of the city. Above all, I would like to highlight the friendliness and helpfulness of the hotel staff. They took care of organizing our visit to Hengshan Temple, assisting us with purchasing tickets and the visit itself. We couldn't have asked for more; they made our visit to Datong perfect."

"This hotel is well managed and very clean for Chinese standards. The host was accommodating and kind. The interior is cosy and boutique. The toilets are annoying - they are electric and light up very much during the night. This is a problem since the bathroom door is see through. The toilets also make a lot of unnecessary sounds. There were a lot of amenities, but no cotton make up pads. The cats shouldn’t be allowed on the table, they looked way too comfortable there for me to fully enjoy my breakfast afterwards."

The proprietress is friendly, warm, and attentive, providing overall thoughtful service. The hotel environment is clean and tidy. The second-floor patio features a tea set, koi fish, peacocks, and parrots, creating a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. The guesthouse rooms are well-equipped with all necessary facilities, including a full range of toiletries.

The environment is great! The house is big and clean. It really exceeded the expectations of this trip. Traveling to Datong is cleaner than Datong City and is close to the expressway and scenic spots. It is very convenient to eat in residential areas. Xiao Wu at the front desk has a good service attitude and is clean and hygienic. , parking is free, will stay again next time

Datong Wangfu Zhizun Hotel definitely deserves five stars! The location is superb, close to the ancient city and convenient for getting around. The room was super spacious, clean, tidy, and the bedding was comfortable. The service was warm and attentive, and the front desk was efficient. The breakfast was plentiful, with local specialties like lamb offal soup and knife-cut noodles. Free underground parking was also very convenient. Overall, it offers great value for money. This is my top choice when visiting Datong!
