Hotels near Ultimo, Sydney

"Pros: Fantastic location. Even though some reviews mentioned the bed being too soft, it was actually the most comfortable hotel bed my kid has slept in for years. I usually have trouble sleeping in new beds, but this one didn't give me any insomnia. The front desk service was relatively warm and welcoming. The in-room capsule coffee machine worked great. Nice view from the window. Cons: The duvet cover situation was really odd; there wasn't one. The duvet insert was just sandwiched between two sheets, and it would come undone as soon as you lay down. The room was quite small. Every day, inexplicably, dust would settle on the bed. Houskeeping seemed to be inconsistent: one day the coffee wasn't restocked, another day the trash wasn't emptied completely, and some days we got an excessive amount of towels. The room was small."

"If you want a reasonably budget stay within Sydney city centre or near Chinatown , I would recommend this hotel as it really close to Chinatown with walking distance within 5-10 mins . 15 mins walking distance to central. It also has self service coffee machine at the lobby."

"The location is superb. It's just a short walk from Central Station, and there are plenty of restaurants and supermarkets nearby, so you'll never be stuck. Major attractions like Circular Quay and QVB are also easily accessible by light rail or bus. Housekeeping cleans daily. However, the sink is quite narrow, so the floor gets splashed when you wash your face (lol). There are no slippers, but a full range of amenities is provided. Overall, it was a good hotel."

"The hotel's location is fantastic. It's right outside the T8 exit of the Central Station, within walking distance to all major attractions, and surrounded by numerous dining options. The staff are incredibly friendly and even allowed us to check in in the morning since a room was available. There's also a water dispenser downstairs, and the room itself was clean and well-equipped."

"If you're coming to Sydney, I highly recommend staying at 202th. The hotel sign isn't very prominent, but it's easily found by looking for the address 202 Elizabeth St. The staff are incredibly nice. We arrived early, initially just wanting to store our luggage, but they proactively helped us check for an available room and allowed us to check in early. The hotel entrance requires a key card for entry, so security is excellent. The breakfast coffee is delicious, and there's a wine tasting in the afternoon (I didn't attend as I don't drink, but wine lovers might enjoy it, and guests get discounts on wine purchases). The public areas are very aesthetically pleasing, and while the rooms are a bit simple, they are very comfortable. Overall, I highly recommend it. It's very close to the train station, and you can walk to the Sydney Opera House, Chinatown, the Royal Botanic Garden, and other attractions. Highly recommended!"

"The room facilities were great, and the location was absolutely perfect – just a 5-minute walk to international departures. The hotel front desk staff, however, were quite unfriendly; this might have been due to my English not being very fluent. This hotel is ideal for catching early morning flights. Sydney international departures are incredibly busy in the mornings; I woke up at 6 AM and already saw traffic building up. It took almost half an hour from leaving the hotel to checking in my luggage. After that, I only had enough time to quickly browse duty-free before boarding."

"For a four-star hotel, this place offers great value for money. It's clean, tidy, and conveniently located near a subway station and a mall – everything was excellent. Downtown prices were too high during New Year's, so I chose this area. It's about an hour's commute to the airport."

"The housekeeping service is excellent and very efficient, with full bed linen changed every two days. The reception staff are friendly and welcoming. Guests can also enjoy complimentary tea, coffee, and a microwave in the lobby, which is a thoughtful convenience. The location is outstanding—10/10! It’s in a fantastic area with everything you need nearby. The only downside is the poor soundproofing. You can easily hear the neighbours using the shower or flushing the toilet, as well as doors opening and closing. On weekends, the music from the bar across the road can be quite loud, and the rubbish collection truck at around 5:00 a.m. is an unwelcome wake-up call! 😅"

"Staff are so friendly, and the location is just perfect for accessing everything. Chinatown is a 5-min walk (Asian like me, perfect). Town Hall station is just a 1-minute walk, Trams is within 100 steps. This hotel's location is just amazing and very quiet for sleeping. Recomended"

"I chose the W Hotel for a company event because it's the most convenient option, being closest to the ICC venue. The environment was generally good, though the lighting was a bit dim. Overall, it's a prime location and offers a great experience."
