"Booked for a friend. The location is superb, less than 1 minute from the church and less than 2 minutes from the bell tower. For such a prime location, the price is very reasonable. Standard rooms only have showers, but upgraded rooms (for an extra 20 Euros) come with a bathtub. Breakfast is comprehensive and served until 10:00 AM, which is a good option if you want to save on meal costs."
"The hotel is located on a relatively quiet street, but it's only a 5-minute walk to the light rail station, which is very convenient. However, the hotel is fully self-service, with no front desk, so you can't store luggage. The room is very spacious and has its own kitchen."
"Great accommodation! It's conveniently located near attractions and has a handy kitchenette for cooking. Plus, there's convenient parking just across the street."
"Location-wise, it's right next to Ghent City Hall, super central! Most of Ghent's attractions are within a 10-minute walk, and there are plenty of supermarkets and restaurants nearby, like Carrefour and McDonald's. However, because it's so central, it can get a bit noisy; you can still hear people on the street late into the night.
Service: The front desk staff were all very friendly and enthusiastic, and there's complimentary water.
Facilities: It's an older hotel, which is fine, but the TV isn't a smart TV so you can't cast to it. The air conditioning didn't seem to heat up enough, even when set to the maximum fan speed and highest temperature. On the upside, the room itself is very spacious.
Cleanliness: It was very clean.
Overall, for a few hundred yuan, staying in a chain hotel like this offers good value for money."
"Well located for public transport to the station and to walk into town. Clean and quiet. A bit poky in size, even for a solo traveller. No tea and coffee facilities in the room, but a kettle was promptly provided on request. Very helpful, friendly staff."
"Great location, right in the town centre with easy access to shops and restaurants. They have free all-day, self-service coffee, tea and hot chocolate, plus a water dispenser in the lobby. No-frills in the room - basic toiletries, good shower and flatscreen, but no kettle, no shower cap, no slippers, and no laundry service. Communication with reception is via chat but there's good free wifi throughout. Daily breakfast was scrambled eggs, meats, mushrooms, tomato, cucumber, cheese, bread, pastries, yogurt and cereal with a selection of coffees and teas. Oh, rooms are not soundproof so if you're a light sleeper, ask for one facing inside, not facing the street."
"First of all, I really appreciate the amazing service and kindness.
It was my solo trip for pleasure, and NH collection ghent was the best choice. Here are some reasons:
1. Employees are so kind and helpful.
They even told me about some good souvenir options and festival information.
2. All the things are ready.
Anything you need? They just give you the right thing. (For instance, shaver)
3. Room is very spacious and clean.
I'm not sure it is new, but it feels like new.
Four. Fine room cleaning service
5. Great facilities: They have restaurant & gym & even bar.
Thank you for everything, I truly had a good time there."
"This hotel, converted from an old military arsenal, is incredibly unique. If you're into architecture, you absolutely can't miss it. The rooftop bar is also super chill. I'll definitely come back next time."
"The hotel is close to train station, but need to walk for around 20 mins to city centre, we think it’s totally fine especially when the weather is good, and the staff recommended us to walk along the river side which is a good idea. The room is very clean, tidy and modern. There is free water, tea and coffee in a pantry near the reception but the reception and pantry will be closed at 11pm everyday. Last but not least, I would like to thanks the staff (a middle age lady) who recommended us a very decent restaurant nearby to conclude our last night in Belgium when we asked for her recommendation. We will definitely choose this hotel again if we visit Ghent again in the future."
"The room was fine. We needed extra bedding and 2 nice staff came immediately and made the extra bed for us. However! We arrived with a reservation confirmation of 2 adults 1 child. Their confirmation had 2 people therefore the room they had was too small. They did have another room for 3 they said we could have but it would be 30 euros extra. At the time we simply agreed and paid as there was a big queue behind us and the amount was small. Buttons seemed like a con to extract more money from us, it wasn't our mistake as we had confirmation for 3 people at the designated price. It's a shame as I really liked Ghent and will certainly return but there are other hotels to choose from."

Great
GGuest UserI had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was very clean, well-organized, and extremely comfortable. I was impressed by the attention to detail and the overall freshness of the space. The location is excellent—convenient, accessible, and close to everything I needed, which made getting around the city very easy. The front desk staff were also incredibly friendly, professional, and helpful, making the entire stay even more pleasant. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay.
LLonely ExplorerHotel Carlton in Ghent offers a warm welcome, spacious rooms, and excellent cleanliness. The staff are genuinely helpful, breakfast is generous, and transport links are convenient. It’s quiet yet close to the historic center, making it a comfortable, great-value base for exploring the city for leisure travelers and short stays.
DDiane PHHands down best view from the room! Booked another night as I had a really good impression and experience - wish I had stayed longer! Bed is comfy and the room is...roomy enough. The ladies at the front were exceptionally accommodating for when I had issues checking out and checking back in. Staff is overall awesome! The only shower room is fairly well kept. For a small amount there will be everything that you will/might need: from towels, laundry/dryer, tea/coffee/beer/snacks, luggage storage, to kayaks. Didn't have to use the common kitchen but it seemed equipped. Really can't go wrong with the location - everything is within reach and the are is just simply beautiful day/night.
HHuanqiuyuzhoulvxingjiaThis hotel was the most impressive one on my trip through the Netherlands, Germany, France, Luxembourg, and Belgium. It's located right in the heart of Ghent's scenic riverfront, a World Heritage site, one of Europe's top ten design hotels, and on the list of the world's top 100 hotels! Staying here, it truly lives up to its reputation. It's incredibly well-designed, opulent, a genuine antique with a strong sense of culture and history. The classic Baroque style is evident, and the furniture and decor are all traditional European. It exudes the luxurious feel of an ancient European palace! The breakfast was also excellent, especially the breakfast restaurant, which has fantastic views!
KKyadenGreat location with everything within walking distance.
The room was clean and comfortable.
Breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of options.
Service was outstanding. As we had to check out at 4am on our last day, we informed the hotel that we wouldn’t be able to enjoy the breakfast. The team kindly prepared a takeaway food bag for us, which was a very thoughtful gesture.
GGuest UserGenerally good location as it is right next to the train station (less than 5 minutes walk) and a 20 to 30 minutes walk from the hotel to the tourist spots in the city central (might be a bit of a walk for the elderly). Pretty average room with just a towel but you cant' complain for the price.
The only issue I had was what was mentioned by other visitors, the windows cannot be opened and you are not able to adjust the aircon settings. You will have to talk to the front counter to adjust your room temperature. However, even after adjusting aircon, the room was still stuffy.
HhhorizonExcellent! The decor is stylish, and it's clean and quiet. Although it's not in the city center, public transport is very convenient. Finding a queen-size bed in a standard room in Europe is a huge bonus, needless to say. The long-haired, black-haired female receptionist was very enthusiastic. The only minor downside was the tissue box, which only had about five sheets – I wonder if they forgot to replace it.
GGuest UserWe were welcomed warmly, we slept in a beautifully renovated room, with a king-size bed, a wonderful mattress, and a cozy duvet and pillow.
The breakfast was very extensive. This is already the 3rd time we have come here; the last time was definitely the best time because of the renovated room. See you next year!
TTravel WWThis hotel has nothing but the front desk. The room is not on the same floor as the front desk. In addition to the excellent location, there is no other recommended price is too low. I don't know how this is listed. Four stars.
GGuest UserThe boss didn't understand English, it was difficult to communicate, and he charged arbitrarily. He changed my double room to a double bed. The location is next to the tram, there is a tram at about 5:00 in the morning, it is very noisy, I can’t sleep
