Here's a recap of my stay at the Seoul Riviera Hotel.
The address is 737 Yeongdong-daero, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Even though I booked two months in advance, I ended up booking during a price surge. I paid 4330 KRW for 4 nights, which was basically over 1000 KRW per night. Usually, it's around 500-600 KRW. This time, there were a lot of people in Seoul for concerts, which drove hotel prices up three or four times. The hotel I stayed at last time in Seoul also had its prices hiked by several hundred.
Since there were three of us, I booked a standard room for three, with one double bed and one single bed. The room was relatively small, but it was quite clean, and the hotel staff were all very nice. We stayed for 4 consecutive nights, and it was very quiet, so the overall experience was good.
Here's the transportation information:
The airport bus 6006 goes directly to the hotel. You get off at the Riviera Hotel stop, which is right in front of the hotel entrance. You can enter the hotel directly, no need to walk even a minute, which is excellent.
How to take the airport bus to Incheon Airport? The hotel front desk had two diagrams: one for the airport bus timetable directly to Incheon Airport, and another showing where to catch the bus. From the main hotel entrance, turn right and walk straight to the first crosswalk. Cross the street, and you'll see a Starbucks. The bus stop is right in front of Starbucks, about a 5-minute walk. The entire journey takes less than 2 hours.
The nearest subway station is Cheongdam Station, about a 7-minute walk.
Because the hotel is in Gangnam-gu, close to Apgujeong, we walked to Apgujeong. It took about 20-30 minutes, strolling and looking around. We took a public bus to Hannam-dong, which was also very convenient.
The hotel also seemed to have a hot spring, but we didn't have time to go. There's also a particularly delicious 24-hour Korean restaurant near the hotel.
The Aiden by Best Western Cheongdam is an ideal spot for travelers wanting to discover the city. The Aiden by Best Western Cheongdam is an ideal choice for travelers who want to take in the sights and sounds of Seoul. The room wasn't huge, but it was spotless, and the furnishings all looked quite new. I especially want to commend the hotel reception staff – they were incredibly helpful. It was my first time in Seoul and I don't speak Korean, so I constantly had to ask them for directions to various places nearby and even borrow a charging cable. They were patient and thoughtful throughout. Plus, the hotel's location is excellent; you can walk to most shopping areas in about fifteen minutes.

The bedding in the room was comfortable, and it was a great experience for two people. The whole place was clean and tidy, the location was convenient, and it offered good value for money. The only downside: booking in advance was a great deal, but extending our stay last minute was very expensive. The hotel policy required us to book an additional night to extend our stay, and extending for just one night wasn't supported. Travelers with flexible itineraries should keep this in mind.

Tiny little hotel room but it was clean and had everything we needed. The hotel pyjamas were an unexpected amenity and cute. Breakfast at the rooftop bar was especially tasty, with a supply of blankets, and beautiful views that made it one of our highlights. The lobby scales to weigh our luggage also helped alot with packing for our flights. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, and looked after our bags while we explored after checkout.

This stay was a bit of a saga. First, I was given a room right by the elevator. When I went to change rooms, I ended up with the last available one, which had some equipment making a constant buzzing noise all night, making it impossible to sleep. I had to change rooms again. The third room I got had a bathroom door that wouldn't open, and the toilet kept running after flushing! In short, the hotel is quite old and has a lot of minor issues.

This location is perfect for a super short weekend trip if your sole purpose is to see a show at KSPO Dome, with no sightseeing plans. From Seolleung Station, it's just one stop on Line 6 to Seonjeongneung, where you can transfer to the Line 9 express to Olympic Park (be aware that if you're taking the subway to the airport, it's the same line but in the opposite direction, and it's best to avoid rush hour as it gets incredibly crowded).
First, the pros: The front desk staff can communicate in English. The bathroom provides disposable toothbrushes, toothpaste, and basic toiletries. There's also a convenient check-out process, and the accommodation terms are printed in multiple languages for easy reference, making it generally foreigner-friendly, especially for introverts. Within walking distance, there are at least two or three convenience stores, ensuring you can grab hot food even when returning late, which is reassuring.
The downsides are that getting to and from the airport isn't convenient; it would be a real headache if you're in a hurry. Also, fully sealed windows inevitably affect hygiene; without regular ventilation and natural sunlight, bedding is more prone to breeding bacteria. So, if you're traveling during the coldest or hottest times of the year and need to stay for more than two nights, this is likely not the optimal choice (you'll either be cold during showers or hot while sleeping, which can be quite uncomfortable).

I arrived late at night, but self check-in was available. When I struggled a bit, they provided remote instructions, and I successfully received my key. I felt secure knowing there were large lockers for luggage, and the washroom and shower facilities were clean. Apart from some issues caused by other guests, the sheets, duvet, and pillows were very clean, so I had a good stay.

The location is excellent, walkable to the station or into Gangnam city area. I needed to check-in early, and the receptionist made that hassle-free. I heard some people feel like the petite queen room is small, but for me I think it’s perfect and was very cozy. Two things that could definitely be improved are the loud noises the water system makes when I tried to turn on hot water on both the sink and ithe shower head, plus if they do provide slippers it would be a perfect stay.

The service was great! Since it was our first time in Korea, the staff were very patient and explained everything to us. The room was a decent size, not too cramped, though a minor drawback was that it felt a bit old. The location is good, situated between two subway stations. Overall, it offers great value for money. You can even see Namsan Tower from the window – amazing views!

Great
GGuest UserLove the location. Smack in the middle of Hongdae and easily accessible to Hongik University Metro station and to all the hip and bustling korean eateries!. Alot of shopping including a few Olive Youngs, medicube and Blue Elephant on the same street. Spoilt for choice for young and hipster fashion as well as slightly higher end retail along the main roads. Hotel service is great and service staff have been very helpful. General cleanliness of the hotel room is good and chamberlady will refill the bottles of water and change the towels punctually everyday. There is a mini gym and a chinese dim sum restaurant inside the hotel and a very good beef soup just directly opposite the hotel which we had on our last day before getting a cab to the airport.
RRubaExceeded all expectations! The hotel's location is superb, really close to all the attractions. There are plenty of shops downstairs, and I highly recommend OurBakery – their bread is delicious! You don't need to bother with the hotel breakfast. They also have a self-service laundry and a gym, which is perfect for travelers. The room size was just right, though it would be even better if the shower curtain could be replaced.
GGuest UserThe hotel boasts convenient transportation. You can take the airport bus to and from the airport, and the drop-off point is also where you catch the return bus, which is super handy. I took bus 6015 and got off at Myeongdong Station. After getting off, you'll see Subway Exit 8. Head towards Exit 8, and at the first intersection, turn right and walk straight. (Make sure you don't go past the CU convenience store; it's actually right opposite Exit 8.) It's quite close, just a few hundred meters walk. The hotel is also very close to our embassy, which gave me extra peace of mind. Every morning, I could see the embassy from my window seat. The room was a bit small; opening a 28-inch suitcase made it feel a bit cramped, but the hotel's cleanliness was good. The soundproofing was excellent; even though it's in lively Myeongdong, it was very quiet at night, which was fantastic.
AAnonymous UserDespite requesting a higher-floor room during booking, the initial room assigned did not meet this preference 😔. After raising the matter with the front desk staff, she was able to accommodate my request and provided a higher-floor unit 😊.
I must admit that this is the best hotel I’ve stayed so far. It is more like a fully-equipped condo than a hotel — super comfortable, clean, modern and great location! It’s the kind of stay that makes you wish you booked longer.. The room had almost everything I needed and made my Seoul trip so amazing and wonderfully memorable ❤️. Would definitely stay here again! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
GGuest UserThe room was comfy and there was bidet available. The location was strategic, near convenience store and you can easily find restaurant, good coffee shop, and also access to MRT. There was washing machine in the room and you can buy the detergent at GS25 at the lobby area. The minus point was the space on the service area is narrow and you have to bring your luggage downstair and believe me It was really hard to bring big luggage from downstair because the stair space was also narrow.
YYan-ZhengThis hotel is super close to Seoul Station, accessible from either Exit 1 or 7 (see picture 4). We had an overnight layover before catching the KTX, so staying here was incredibly convenient. You can even walk here along the Seoullo 7017 Skygarden. Plus, there's Lotte Outlets and a supermarket nearby for some shopping. We booked a family twin room with a queen bed (1.5m) and a single bed (1.1m), perfect for three people, and the space was just right. Check-out is at 12 PM, and at around 700 [currency, presumably KRW], it's really good value for money. The service was good, though we didn't get a chance to use any other facilities!
MMisa93The location is good if you want peace, since it's close to Bukhansan National Park and not city centre. The room is very spacious, but the cleanliness was so-so. I found someone's hair on the bedside table, and the tiles in the bathroom weren't very clean. I guess it's what you get for the price. If you're a budget traveller, it's a good choice, if you want something more, look for other places. But the view was amazing.
GGuest UserIt's always a nice stay here! The location is very great, olive young is downstairs , and the subway station also downstairs, it's near the airport bus stop too! They have bidet and the toilet is scpacious, the room also spacious, you can store many luggages, they have tables and chairs too for you to eat or have some work, their receptionist lobby and all the staff also very helpful during my stay, definitely recommended, not to mention they have 24h convenient store at the 3rd floor and laundry room
MmunimunitantanThe room looks exactly like the pictures. The bed was really comfortable and clean, with no strange smells (housekeeping came daily to clean and empty the bins). The bathroom was spacious, making for a pleasant shower experience. We chose a quad room, and there was enough space to spread out my luggage. There are also lockers for valuables, but you need to bring your own padlock. The accommodation is on the third floor with no elevator, so it's a bit of a struggle if you have large luggage like I did. Also, the beds don't have curtains, which can make you feel a bit exposed. Since the room is small, any noise, like using the toilet in the middle of the night, is amplified, and I worried about disturbing others. However, for the price, I'm very satisfied! No complaints at all!
AAllysh@comfortable place...close to dongmyo flea market..have to wait for more money because it's random when walking, wash your eyes at dongmyo flea market..close to laundry..wanting to wash clothes in the middle of the night is ok..,,😂😂😂
