I stayed here for 2 days of my 5 day stay in the Anda***s. I would definitely recommend this hotel, everthing in port blair including cellular jail, the jetty to ross island and north bay are all in walking distance. The breakfast was included and was decent. I would definitely recommend eating in the restaurant on the rooftop. I had fish curry and dal and it was fantastic. The staff are very helpful for any directions. Diksha at reception was delightful, she also recommend a church for me to attend as it was palm Sunday. She is definitely an asset to this hitel.

Convenient hotel for stay in port blair Good: 1. Convenient location. Very close to cellular jail, airport, market 2. ⁠rooms were clean 3. ⁠staff was polite 4. ⁠can easily find autos outside hotel 5. ⁠breakfast was satisfactory Not so good: 1. Bathroom fittings need maintenance. Shower fitting was not in very good condition 2. ⁠small bed, queen size Port Blair: Its a cute town and can be conveniently and economically explored on scooter if that suits you. Ideally you should keep 3 nights for port Blair. Things to cover- cellular jail- carbyns cove beach-chidiya tapu-few islands nearby To do: Cellular jail is worth a visit and the light and sound show is not to be missed Carbyns cove beach is also worth a visit. The coastal road to this beach is very beautiful. If you have time you can plan both sunrise and evening visits. On the way to carbyns cove there is Flag point which is a must visit specially post sunset hours. There is a very patriotic feel to this place. Its a beautiful view seeing tri colour waving high in the backdrop of ocean and island and with some historical context to it which can be read there, the point has been nicely maintained and you can sit there and spend some time enjoying the breeze and views Autos can be found easily in port blair. It is better to hire autos for sight seeing then taxis which charge exorbitant rates The marine museum is a must visit. Its small but very informative and sets a context to the anda*** trip, we visited towards the end of trip and were able to relate to the exhibits there and learned a lot about the islands and life. Anthropological museum can be skipped Annapurna cafeteria is a good local eatery. Reasonably priced and good food You should definitely make a visit to chidiya tapu. We just had a one night stay in the Bay Leaf Inn ahead of heading to Swaraaj Dweep. The hotel seems very new and we had a nice check in, with welcome drink of juice – but then were kept waiting for our bags and passports to be delivered. It seems the processes could be sped up. Can’t fault the cleanliness or the staff’s attitudes though, and it was a pleasant place to spend the night – with them arranging a breakfast in a bag and a taxi to take us to the ferry port the next day. It’s a shame that the rooftop bar isn’t licensed – it seems as though it once was but has stopped serving beers now as we wanted to have a drink and watch the sun go down so needed to go elsewhere. Beware that the hotel is on a hill so you’ll need to go up or down if walking around in the heat, and autos are less plentiful here than elsewhere. Really though, this was a good stay for what we needed – a place to sleep before our tropical adventure started in earnest the next morning.

Our second time at the Bay Leaf on our trip to the Anda*** Islands. We found the BL to be a modern well run hotel and a good central location. We stayed in two types of rooms we found both to be of a good standard. Eg: comfortable beds, clean well maintained bathrooms and good AC/Fans. The rooftop restaurant /Bar is a nice place to eat dinner or enjoy a cocktail overlooking Port Blair, once again we found the level of service excellent. Probably the best accommodation we have found on this journey. Thanks again to the reception staff who helped us with our day trips and onward journey. Very rough attitude at reception and the FnB ***ager. Location is good but rest all are pathetic. Roof top restaurant was not allowed for guests. DO NOY STAY in this property. I will never advise to opt for this property in Portblair
