We had stayed here prior to Cyclone Debbie in 2017 and it has just reopened. So thought we'd give it a go. There was a terrible smell coming from the grate in the bathroom, so had to put a towel over grate. The bathroom itself was clean. The fan was very dirty. The front door lock didn't work properly, but there was a slide lock going into the floor. Insufficient mugs for number of people. Beds were clean and comfy but overall disappointing compared to previously.

Monte Carlo was well priced and perfectly located and the rooms were clean and well maintained. Lovely welcome on arrival.

Staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Pool looked lovely but a bit too cool to try. Great selection of breakfast. Loved the talking doorhandle on the room door for security. Lots of tv channel choices. We'll be back!

Suitable for an overnight stop over in Townsville and appeared quite a safe area.
Being right on a major road, it does get quite a lot of traffic noise particularly early morning.

I love that there is a cafe right next door. The parking is easy which is super important to me. And I appreciated the comfort and safety of the room.
