We chose this hotel because of the location for getting to the trolley, a Hop-on Hop-off tour stop, the local bus system, and the nearby BART system. For this it did not disappoint. The price is reasonable, and the hotel was very clean, and the staff was very friendly. From this, I digress. The noise level during the nights, was that a very loud level. All from external. Sirens, music, loud cars and trucks going by, garbage trucks in the middle of the night, quite a bit of yelling, and the like. Normal ear plugs did not help. If you stay here, you will need some heavy duty ear plugs. We get up earlier and the hotel lobby coffee was not ready ever before 7:00 a.m. there is coffee in the room, however if you need real creamer, you'll be out of luck until 7:00 approximately. Not a terrible review, just want people to be aware.

Westfield shopping mall and Powell Station metro/bus stop are just around the corner. Amazing location. Classic hotel that offers contactless check-in. Our room was modern and elegant. We really enjoyed staying here. Tip: use the Sonder app to make a reservation! You'll get a lot better rates in the app than on any 3rd party website.

I want to share my recent experience at this hotel, which I regretfully cannot recommend. The hotel has an attractive location but is marred by a lack of basic amenities and poor customer service. During our six-night stay, we discovered on the second morning that there was no hot water. We informed the receptionist, Andy, but were met with a dismissive and rude attitude. We were informed that there would be no hot water for the rest of the day, and this lack of basic amenities was for a total of three days of the six days of our stay. Please note that according to California Civil Code §1940.2, it is the responsibility of the hotel to provide and maintain hot and cold running water for guests. To make matters worse, when we requested to check out early due to this issue, we were offered no refunds as our stay was prepaid on expedia. Expedia told us that the property was to decide while the property said it was expedia.. As I am a hotelier myself, I know it is the hotel’s call in the end. We were offered a shower facility in a separate building which was very inconvenient as we had to walk out of our building and take elevators to get there.. This was not a suitable alternative to the basic amenity that we had paid for. To add insult to injury, at time of check out, Andy offered us only $80 as a refund on a reservation worth over $1500, what a humiliating act, we could not believe it! Better not to offer anything, because really it is a shame to offer this to people.. We were one of the many customers to complain, and we saw that the receptionists had no sympathy towards anyone.. Yes, all businesses are there to make money, but not like this. What they did is close to stealing from someone! I cannot recommend this hotel to other travelers, and I will continue to write on other platforms to warn people..

Hotel is kept in good order. When the facility runs out of parking in the hotel parking lot you are directed to park in the paring complex across the street. Be cautious when parking there, Oakland is a crime riddled city where criminals get a free pass to prey on the weak. Be cautious when traveling in all of the bay area. Wear a bullet proof vest if you can.

The room booked was spacious and the room rate also include breakfast. The hotel lobby also provide coffee and tea. The hotel is within walking distance to the cable car stop to travel to Union Square and Chinatown and also Fisherman Wharf.

I totally enjoyed my stay during a 4-days at this place. The location is super convenient, take 101/130/150 to go to Union square, walk a little bit and take 19 to go to Beach Road. If you are adventurous, you can actually walk to the Downtown. I had to check in early as my flight landed a bit advance. They allowed me to early check in at a nominal fee which is totally acceptable. Also the cityscape view from hotel is amazing! I felt the place is safer, all amenities provided (ironing bed, hangers, refrigerator, iron box, coffee and tea bags… so on). I would certainly stay here again and highly recommend checking this out. We only stayed one night but it was ideal for catching the hop on hop off bus and walking along the piers at Fisherman's Wharf. There was no breakfast served, as there were renovations going on but we found a great cafe nearby which served a great breakfast. We also found a lovely seafood restaurant for our dinner. I thought that it was very expensive for the facilities on offer but we booked it on the advice of our travel agent who had also stayed there and advised that the price was average for an American hotel near to Fisherman's Wharf.

Stayed here for 2 nights and was pleasantly surprised. Prices are quite affordable considering it's in San Francisco. The location was great. I booked this hotel in particular primarily because of its rather close proximity to the BART station. It is indeed only a 10-minute walk from Montgomery station, although if you're arriving from the airport be prepared to drag your bags uphill. The hotel is smack dab in the middle of Chinatown in a rather busy area. I never felt unsafe here, whether evening or early morning, as there are always people milling about minding their own business. If you like walking, you can journey to Fisherman's Wharf within 30 minutes on foot, which is what I did. You can also walk in the opposite direction toward Westfield and Target if you like to shop. There are several bus stops and tram lines nearby. As for the room, it was small but didn't feel cramped. There's no air-conditioning but it was rather chilly in July so I had no issues with heat. No problems with the shower either. Checking in and out were a breeze. I was even able to order food through GrubHub (because most restaurants in that area close at 8 pm even on weekends, which I found out the hard way!) I suppose my only complaint would be that you can definitely hear your neighbors at all times. I could hear someone stomping on the floor above, and sometimes I'd get noise from the rooms adjacent to mine. I was able to sleep just fine, though, as the bed was really comfortable. I'd changed my hotel to this one at the last minute and I'm glad I did. Apart from the occasional noise, I had a lovely stay.

It was close to Times Square, so it was good to take the train or bus! The staff was friendly and it was clean and nice! There is no coffee pot, but coffee, tea, and hot water are prepared in the lobby every morning, so I got hot water and ate cup noodles.
