"Seriously clean! Other hotels I've stayed in might look okay at first glance, but I wouldn't dare examine them too closely. This one, however, is spotless, both overall and in every detail. Plus, the landlady is incredibly nice. We arrived early, and as soon as the previous guests checked out, she got us checked in and even upgraded our room! This isn't a paid review or anything; I honestly didn't have high expectations for Semporna's accommodation, but this place was a truly pleasant surprise. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in town."

"I highly recommend this beachfront hotel in Semporna! The location is amazing, directly facing the crystal-clear blue sea. Just open the window and you're greeted by the azure ocean and sky. Wake up to the gentle sound of the waves in the morning, and watch the sunset over the sea from the balcony in the evening – every frame is wallpaper-worthy, and every photo you take will be a masterpiece! 📸 The rooms are clean, tidy, and odor-free, with a spacious and airy layout. The bedding is soft and comfortable, and the toiletries are complete and brand new. The hot water and air conditioning are excellent, making for a very comfortable stay. The hotel's overall environment has a wonderful island vibe, surrounded by greenery and a gentle sea breeze – quiet, soothing, and perfect for relaxing away from the hustle and bustle.
The service is also top-notch! The staff are warm, attentive, and gentle, always ready to help with any needs. They even thoughtfully arrange island hopping and snorkeling, making your trip incredibly hassle-free. Conveniently located downstairs, with plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby, it's excellent value for money!
Choosing this hotel for your Semporna vacation is definitely a safe bet. The experience was fantastic, and I've already recommended it to friends. I'll definitely stay here again next time! 🌊"

"Five-star review, highly recommend Barracuda Den! Semporna is notorious for its dirty and messy accommodations, but Barracuda Den has no real competition at its price point. The location is excellent, just 700 meters from Hai Feng Pier, making it a 10-minute walk to catch boats for island hopping. Right outside the door, you'll find all sorts of food options, which is super convenient. It's safe, with card access required for entry and exit. It's clean; I even saw staff doing a thorough cleaning. Every time you close the door to the guesthouse, you can completely disconnect yourself from the chaotic and dirty environment outside. The guesthouse offers free toast, instant noodles, and cooking utensils. As a fan of simple meals, it was great to have fried eggs, toasted bread, and hot tea every day! The washing machine is free to use, which is a big plus since many accommodations in Semporna charge for laundry. The staff are very friendly, and the seafood restaurant they recommended next door was also very affordable. Absolutely no complaints!"

"Every moment spent here was incredibly healing. Waking up to a serene, mint-green ocean view right outside my window instantly lifted my spirits. The hotel's design is exceptional, especially the terrace that creates stunning reflections – it truly understands what women love, and I couldn't stop taking photos. I highly recommend it to friends coming for diving; the hotel is very close to the pier, so you don't have to rush in the morning. After diving, a hot shower followed by gazing at the sea view, that’s what a vacation should be like. Next time I'm in Semporna, I'll definitely choose this place again!"

"This hotel was absolutely amazing, exceeding all my expectations for this trip. It was fantastic!
I communicated with the hotel beforehand because I was arriving on the morning of the 16th and leaving on the evening of the 17th, and I wanted to know how to arrange snorkeling. The hotel replied that I needed to arrive at the jetty by 8:30 AM on the 16th, or I wouldn't be able to fly on the 17th.
Later, I asked about getting hot water. They upgraded my room for an extra fee. The room with air conditioning had hot water, but you had to press an external switch to activate it.
We arrived at the hotel around 4 PM after snorkeling, had afternoon tea, and then dinner at 7 PM. Since it was Chinese New Year's Eve, we didn't bring any alcohol. We even met some wonderful fellow Chinese guests who shared theirs with us, and we also asked the hotel bar staff to purchase some for us (for a fee). I think it was super worth it.
From 8 PM to midnight, there were always people snorkeling – so relaxed and free. There were stairs directly from our room leading to the water, which felt incredibly worthwhile.
If you want to experience a water bungalow and are looking for value for money, I truly believe Latolato was wonderfully beyond expectations. The hotel staff were also excellent and always proactive in resolving any issues.
It was great, and I look forward to visiting again."

"The room was very clean. It just opened in February this year and the environment is nice. It's an eight-minute walk from the tourist jetty center, and there's a Chinese-speaking receptionist. It's great value for money! The landlady even helped me call a taxi back to the airport. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Semporna."

"The room is quite spacious and very clean. Check-in is on the first floor. When you go upstairs to the second floor where the rooms are, you first change into slippers, then walk down a hallway to your room. On the first floor, in the morning, there are self-service options for breakfast like coffee, milk tea, bread, and jam. On the second-floor balcony, there's a sink for washing things and a washing machine. There's also a long open-air balcony where you can dry clothes after a trip to the sea; hangers and racks are provided, which is great. The location isn't too remote either; it's about a 15-minute walk to the pier. Do note that the front desk staff doesn't speak Chinese, so you'll need to communicate in English. Also, the rooms on the second floor have private bathrooms, but you have to take a somewhat steep staircase, which might not be ideal for guests with children or the elderly. The rooms on the first floor can be a bit noisy, and it seems they all have shared bathrooms."

"This is probably the best hotel in Semporna town. The facilities and hardware are quite good, and the service is excellent. They even offer complimentary juice in the lobby. Just a heads-up when paying the deposit: make sure to have some cash on hand, as two of our cards didn't work. We stayed in a Sunrise Balcony King Room, and the view was absolutely stunning, directly overlooking the Semporna sea, with a glimpse of the infinity pool. Sitting on the balcony was incredibly relaxing. It's also very close to the town center and the pier. There's a small mall downstairs, along with KFC, Pizza Hut, and Haijing Seafood Restaurant, making dining and getting around super convenient. This hotel should definitely be your top choice for accommodation when visiting Semporna."
