"Has a lovely stay, hotel was clean and staff were very attentive. First couple of nights breakfast was very limited however after speaking with the concierge elevated the experience the next day. Hotel room was spacious and well appointed. Over all a fantastic time spent and we look forward to coming again."

The Manila Hotel

9.3/10
Great

The Manila Hotel has an old but elegant and luxurious style. Marble and stone finishing, tall ceilings and a grand piano at the back with a musician playing pleasant music greets you as you walk through the entrance. Lacking points from my personal experience: 1. The carpet floors need to be replaced. I had to change rooms because the first room I got had an unpleasant smell to it (they quickly changed my room after I went to the reception, so it wasn't terrible) and although I didn't notice until the end of my stay, the new room's carpet was frayed at the edges. 2. The night mode of the lights (many switches) completely cuts power to the power outlets. I didn't know and ended up waking up to a phone and power bank with a dying battery and needing to stay in the hotel a couple of hours until they finished charging. Maybe just a warning in the future? The good parts: 1. The service! People are SO accommodating, pleasant and efficient. Reception staff, waiters, bell boys and basically everyone greets you with a smile and tries to solve any problems with utmost focus and cordiality. 2. Traditional pride. Traditional fashion exhibition at the front was a great touch to my visit. The whole place (restaurants, pools, spa, rooms, etc) add to the experience. I could have stayed in the hotel and felt like I hadn't missed Manila's charm. 3. Excellent location. I realised early on that I could literally see every single thing from my ”1 day tour of Manila” from my hotel room. Nothing says great location like this.

The atmosphere emitted Style, Taste very classy as all my friends commented as well as when I booked didn't realise it was a High End stay. I recently stayed at City Garden Suites and would like to share both a commendation and some constructive feedback regarding my experience. First, I would like to highly commend Ms. Zsan for her outstanding service. After being assigned to a room that, while clean, had an unpleasant odor, I approached the front desk again for assistance. Ms. Zsan handled the situation with genuine care and professionalism. She went beyond simply checking the system—she actively coordinated with housekeeping via radio to personally verify room availability. Her initiative, attentiveness, and willingness to help truly define excellent customer service. She made us feel heard and valued, and her dedication reflects the kind of frontline service that leaves a lasting positive impression. On the other hand, I would like to offer constructive feedback regarding my experience with Ms. Acel. As a guest, first impressions matter, and my initial interaction with her during check-in was not very reassuring. When I inquired about the possibility of being assigned to a newly renovated room, I was informed that none were available, without much effort to further check or explore options. This gave me the impression that my request was not fully considered. The following day, when I needed to extend my stay, I spoke with her over the phone and requested an update regarding my concern, emphasizing the urgency as I needed to secure the current room rate online. However, after waiting for around 30 minutes without any callback, I had to follow up myself. During the follow-up, she asked for details I had already communicated earlier, which made it seem like the information was not properly noted or attended to. On the third day, I needed to extend my booking again. To avoid the same experience, I went directly to the front desk. Unfortunately, she was again the one available. Despite my previous experience, I still chose to give her another chance, hoping for a better interaction. However, the experience remained the same. Because of this, instead of extending my stay further, I decided to transfer to another hotel. I hope this feedback is received constructively. Frontline staff play a crucial role in shaping the overall guest experience. While Ms. Zsan demonstrated exceptional service and professionalism, there is an opportunity for improvement in consistency, attentiveness, and proactive assistance. With the right focus on these areas, guest satisfaction can be greatly enhanced.

It's a 30-minute Grab ride from the airport if there's no traffic. The hotel is in a historical building, and you can really feel its grandeur in the lobby, hallways, and staircases. However, while it's near the coast, the surrounding area isn't very clean, so I wouldn't recommend walking around. A 5-minute Grab ride to Robinson Place will get you everything you need: a supermarket, a drugstore, and restaurants. The pool on the 4th floor has a great view and is easy to use as it's not crowded. The breakfast buffet is about average. Intramuros is also about a 5-minute Grab ride away.

We booked a suite room here because we had our wedding preparations at this hotel five years ago, and we expected the same quality of service and experience. Unfortunately, it feels very different now compared to before. Last night, there were two people sleeping in the lobby who did not appear to be hotel guests. We were wondering why they were allowed to stay there, as we understood that the lobby is intended for hotel guests. Additionally, the towels in our room appeared old and worn out. Overall, we believe that the cleanliness and security of the hotel should be reviewed and improved. There was also a drunk individual outside the 7-Eleven last night who was saying things to us, which made us feel scared and uncomfortable. Although the staff did ask him to leave, we still would have appreciated an apology regarding the incident. Overall, we were disappointed with this experience, especially since we chose this hotel based on the positive memories and standards we experienced during our wedding preparations five years ago.

Our stay at this hotel was overall average. There are few areas that need improvement. The carpet was not clean, which made the space feel less comfortable and not maintained as expected. Cleanliness is very important to guest. Additionally, the breakfast buffet did not offer many choices. The selection was quiet limited. I hope the management can improve these areas to provide better experience for future guests.

I was so disappointed. The shower host from the bathroom was defective but in fairness it was repaired on the 2nd day midnight. And also no rubber bathroom mat (since the bathroom floor tiles is slippery) . They only produce the mat after my sister a pwd has warned them for any accident that she may incurred the front desk will be responsible. While the water heater is not 24 hours based on their post. Water heater resume on my 3rd day stay. The four treadmills at the gym are also not working it is all under maintenance. In regards i think this hotel needs already a fully renovation.
