Except that the location is not as good as another five-star hotel, (the location is about 1 km away, but at night, when the lights of the two small islands are dim, this point is exceeded), everything else exceeds expectations.

This hotel is highly recomended. Sat in a stunning position across from the Barromean Islands. Breakfast is second to none, with everything one could wish for. Complimentary shuttle bus takes five minuets to the town and staff run a personal service to meet your needs. Hotel staff go above and beyond to make your stay a special occassion. This hotel is highly recomended for many reasons.

As a world traveler, this is an absolute gem. The direct views of the Borromean Islands and the exceptional staff make this hotel unbeatable. Beautiful Italian style rooms and exceptional service make it a special experience. The complimentary bus service at your disposal, make town visits accessible. There are no negatives to comment on as this was a perfect hotel choice in a stunning location. Shout out to Ghia who exceeded all our expectations for hotel staff. Can’t wait to return and highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for 5 star hotel experiences.

The Villa Aminta was our home base for 4 nights on Lake Maggiore and it is a very lovely spot. The view from the public spaces (living rooms, dining rooms) is breathtaking and worth staying at the hotel for. Our junior suite with a lake view had a premier spot overlooking the islands and an enormous private patio (if only the weather had been a bit better). Housekeeping kept us stocked in water and kindly delivered cookies every evening. The Villa's decor is very eclectic - no doubt trying to convey the feeling of a turn-of-the-century villa on the lake. We thought it helped convey that atmosphere but I also wouldn't mind if they redecorated the entire property. (I definitely needed better bedside reading lamps!) Still, everything is well maintained. Breakfast was the most extensive buffet we saw on our entire trip with very attentive and kind service. We had dinner in the restaurant one night and the food was excellent, again with exceptional service. The Villa definitely delivers a full experience and consistent ambience. Our only consideration for next time is that despite being close to downtown Stresa, you can't walk due to the road/traffic. The hotel provides a very good shuttle, but only at certain times and a taxi - while available - was 15 euros each way. We would have liked more flexibility to stroll around Stresa any time and enjoy some of the restaurants in town. (We did have one dinner and one lunch in downtown - both great!)

A week staying at this beautiful hotel was wonderful. Breakfast , cocktails , dinner overlooking the lake towards the mountains with a view of the islands was lovely.

From first impressions to our leaving, everything was done professionally, on time and with a smile. All the staff were excellent in every detail. I cannot praise the Hotel too highly. It was my wife's birthday during our stay and the Management delivered champagne and strawberrys to our room and baked her a cake to round off dinner. They sang 'Happy Birthday' to her too!
