Best Hotels in Tilloy les Mofflaines

Have seen better F1 hotels, because you can convert for a tenth p.p right here, my opinion is average. For what can you expect from here now. In fact, not much so .... A not super-clean room, a bad bed, remote location. And many male guests (when we were there) as a woman or women without a man, I would certainly like this kind of hotel, so many workers who can be dead here for a tenth per night, and many men also often means a certain behaviour in and around the hotel, not too clean toilets and showers on the corridor with all these figures, not even a pleasure as a woman. (Men came to their underwear on the corridor, etc.) I as a man can manage here for a night, but then very quickly again .... Male can and should not give the review, simply because it is very beneficial for the stock exchange.

Stayed here overnight on the way back to Channel Tunnel at the end of a 16 night road trip. The last of 5 hotels we stayed in it met our expectations in most respects. Well located. Parking directly underneath the hotel (public car park) with a lift straight to reception.(Parking Europe). Thoughtfully planned room and bathroom (full length mirror, quiet air con, fridge, water). Very clean and quiet (despite our room overlooking the station). Polite and efficient reception and bar staff with reasonable bar prices and a nice little outside terrace to have drinks on. The only negative was the included breakfast. We arrived at the breakfast room at 8.30th to find every table covered unused plates/mugs etc with chairs and tables randomly scattered. This wouldn’t have been an issue if there had been any staff hurriedly dealing with the mess (which we thought had maybe been caused by a coach party eating and leaving together?) but it was a full 20 minutes before the staff even noticed (despite there being 2 members of staff on duty). Items were slow to be replenished and all the honey and jam dispensers were empty. When the tables were finally cleared, it was by means of a large catering trolley with attached bin bag being pushed round the dining room, which we found quite intrusive. The actual breakfast offering was lovely - fresh orange juice, delicious yogurt and a great selection of pastries/ cereal etc, it’s just a pity about the ambiance, and lack of customer care shown by the breakfast attendants - perhaps they were just having a bad day? Despite the above we would happily return to this hotel if we visit Arras again.

The rooms are basic, but with the necessary furnishings and fixtures to enable a decent stay for a short duration. There is some minor dilapidation in the rooms, but cosmetic rather than significant. The price is reasonable for what you get. Breakfast is available, but I didn't try it. Not too far away from the town centre. For me a walk of 15 - 20 minutes.

The Ibis Gare de Lens Hotel is a great place to visit. With a privileged location in the city of Lens with a lot of passage and state a recent establishment, the expectations were at the meeting, so the reception is the most important step: it was not missed with warm staff - It's a good thing. No need to ask for breakfast times, food operations, etc ... The staff will brief you once you arrive to explain in a short time how to enjoy your stay at the hotel. The location and the price paid are excellent.

I'll start with the mad and bad aspects: when we arrived, it was 25C and forecast to get even warmer the next day (it did). The hotel description says all rooms are air-conditioned. Well....yes....but only if the A/C is actually turned on. The reception staff laughed and said Accor policy is no A/C until June (***!) and, sorry, they had no fans. So a sweltering night, trying to ignore the screaming, shouting and loud music from the inevitable youth gangs that congregate nearby. The next day, the wonderful Chef de Reception, Marjorie Albertier, managed to get the A/C turned on. So, yes, it can be done: and this isn't my first experience of Accor group hotels deciding that the guests can expire from the heat because ”it isn't June yet”. If I were to stay here again, I'd contact them in advance and ask if the A/C is indeed switched on (and do it via email so they can't deny it) Right, the good stuff: the room was clean, everything worked, the bed was comfy, the breakfast was good (more than adequate choice for the vast majority of people) and the staff can 'validate' the car park ticket for you (not free, but at least you don't have to mess with the machine). Excellent location, a short walk into the centre of Arras. Best place to park in the Centre European, approach from either the Place du Marechal Foch (which has a one-way system to make it easy) or the Bd Carnot (aim for the 'centre lane' to enter the parking - Google Street View is your friend). When we were there, if you're prepared to use the lowest levels, there's ample parking spaces, and a lift. Summary: good hotel if the A/C is switched on and working, but lots of external noise means it's miserable if not

L’hôtel nous avait été recommandé pour sa localisation, idéale pour visiter les musées du Louvre-Lens et le LAM à Villeneuve d’Ascq. Sur ce point, nous n’avons pas été trompés. En effet, l’hôtel est situé tout au bord de l’autoroute A1 et de la voie du TGV Lille-Paris. Tout au bord. L’établissement a la grâce d’un motel défraîchi d’une ville minière abandonnée du Dakota, qu’un entrepreneur français excentrique aurait racheté dans les années 1970 pour le prix d’un saucisson, et reconstruit sur une friche acquise pour pas beaucoup plus cher. Accueil cordial et efficace à la réception. Nous repartons, carte magnétique en main et traversons le parking pour gravir gaillardement l’escalier en colimaçon de béton usé qui mène vers la passerelle sur laquelle s’ouvrent les chambres à l’étage. Un pot à fleurs en zinc est accroché à la balustrade devant la porte de notre chambre. IL est rempli d’un sable gris dans lequel gisent des chewing-gums et des mégots de cigarette, sucés jusqu’à la moëlle, aux filtres mâchonnés. Pour en fuir l’odeur âcre, nous ouvrons précipitamment la porte de notre chambre et nous engouffrons à l’intérieur. Nous sommes accueillis par une bouffée violente, tiède et humide au parfum puissant de cigarette. La chambrette est triste et glauque, le mobilier morne et usé, les rideaux jaunis. L’odeur est infecte. La chambre est propre toutefois. Les lits sont faits. Rien à dire à l’équipe de nettoyage. Mais la pièce est sinistre. Et elle pue. Nous avons entendu la réceptionniste répondre au téléphone que l’hôtel était complet. Nous sommes attendus pour la visite du musée. Nous décidons de faire contre mauvaise fortune, bon cœur. Nous achèterons une bombe de désodorisant. De toute manière, nous rentrerons tard et ne resterons qu’une nuit, quittant le lendemain matin. Nous revenons vers 23 heures, heureux d’une belle visite et d’un repas joyeux avec de bons amis. Nous sommes heureux, tolérants, de très bonne composition. Et nous avons acheté une bombe de désodorisant au jasmin. Nous entrons dans la chambrette en riant, bombe en main, projetant le parfum devant nous. Le parfum retombe vite. « La mer y passerait sans laver la souillure, car l’abime est immense et la tâche est au fond ». L’odeur est là, qui s’attache à nous, nous étouffe. Resignés, nous nous couchons. Pour m’endormir, je pense à Arthur Rimbaud, bercé par le doux frou-frou de ses étoiles au ciel. Quant à moi j’écoutais, au bord de l’autoroute Le ron-ron des moteurs, des autos, des camions Le train qui hurle et siffle, le chahut des klaxons Et la pluie sur le toit, qui tombait goutte à goutte. Pour ne plus entendre ce vacarme, je plonge ma tête dans l’oreiller, grumeleux comme un vieux sac à linge rempli de chaussettes roulées en boule. Et je me récite les Ames Damnée de Baudelaire : « A la pâle lueur des lampes languissantes / Sur de profonds coussins, tout imprégnés d’odeurs » Je m’interromps après deux vers. L’oreiller pue la vieille clope. Je suffoque.

Fairly modern hotel with pleasant & helpful staff. Standard rooms are quite small but properly equipped with excellent WIFI & modern showers. Note if you select 'twin', the beds are very narrow. A bit tricky to find the hotel - SATNAV unhelpful but find the TGV line & try to follow the signs. Trains do thunder past but sound proofing is pretty good & trains stop at night. Restaurant menu quite limited & a bit expensive but very nice quality & presentation. Having travelled from Lyon in a heatwave, it was great to arrive to air conditioning & a cool, clean pool. Overall, a very good stopover and only an hour or so from Calais.

Excellent stay in this SPA hotel, pleasant staff and varied and extensive breakfast. There is one hour of SPA included per day, but attention must be reserved to the slot (which eventually avoids blinding the SPA and allows relaxation).
