The environment is very European, a little dark, but it doesn't affect anything, the facilities are a bit old, and the hot water is just right until the end ~ overall good, you can live

In general we had a nice stay. let's brake it down: Pros: •The hotel offered a transfer from the airport with reasonable cost (I believe it was 40€ or something close to that) •The location was excellent. Very close to supermarkets, means of transport etc •The view from the room was really nice. •The Front Desk was very eager to help with every question we had. Very quick email correspondence. Cons: •It would be more helpful if there was a 24hour Reception as our flight arrived late and we straggled a bit with the instructions sent to us to find the room. •the hotel was very dated. In desperate need of renovation. •breakfast area was actually just a couple of tables. No variety

Very good location Friendly extremely staff, albeit quite overworked. This made it a bit difficult to get boiling hot water for breakfast tea, if guests were allowed to brew their own tea it would be easier and more effective. Nice complimentary afternoon tea. Extremely comfortable and well maintained rooms. Given the quality and the location reasonable prices. Luckily a non smoker hotel.

LOCATION: The hotel is very accessible. It is near the metro station (Währinger Straße-Volksoper station)and trams (Sensengasse station and Lazarettegasse station). It is situated beside the University of Vienna. HOTEL: The building is indeed european and fairly old. Small lobby and reception. The lift is working fine, a bit slow but functional. The room is very spacious! We were three and we got 1 double bed, 1 single bed and a sofa bed. The toilet is separated from the bathroom. We were not really fond of their bathroom. Anyhow, the architecture and the view is fantastic. RECEPTION: The first man we met at the reception was not really friendly, in a sense that he didn’t really smile or showed that he was pleased to meet us or welcome us. However, he was not the stressful type. He let us dropped our bags first and rest for a while in our room before we payed for our stay. On the other hand, we met another guy when we checked out and he was very approachable. OVERALL: This was a great deal for us. Good price for a very comfy and awesome hotel. We enjoyed our stay here.

I expect better for European hotels of this sort. I've stayed in cities like Berlin, Bern, Zurich, London, and more than one in each city. First, my bed was terrible--I could feel springs (or whatever they were) so my body ached after 4 nights. The staff were curt and not very forthcoming. I am a very courteous and kind person. Perhaps they were not used to seeing too many Black people. The only coffee was regular drip/percolator. One thing I look forward to in Europe is at least a multi-function machine where one can get espresso, etc. This last absence said a lot to me. The best feature is the location. Very short walking distance to main transportation hub, near the university of Vienna, and other spots that mattered to me since I was there to give a lecture at the Uni.
