Chongsheng Temple

Chongsheng Temple, facing Erhai Lake to the east and Cangshan Mountain to the west, is located about one kilometer north of the ancient city of Dali in Yunnan Province, at the foot of Cangshan Mountain and on the shore of Erhai Lake. It is famous for the three towers in the temple, also known as 'The Three Pagodas of Dali'; it is one of the famous Buddhist pagodas in China, and was listed as a national key cultural relics protection unit in 1961. It is like three giant pens, making the ancient city more magnificent, adding a lot of glory to the scenery of Cangshan and Erhai. The three towers have always been the symbol of Dali. They were the buildings in front of the old Chongsheng Temple (also known as 'Tianlong Temple' in Jin Yong's martial arts novel 'Tianlong Babu'). Now the ancient temple no longer exists, but the three towers still stand tall. The three towers are one of the oldest existing buildings in Yunnan, and they are also a famous group of towers in China.
