Kitakyushu Wonder Realm

#cherryblossom2024 Kitakyushu, the second largest city in the southern Kyushu region, is named after its location at the northernmost point of the region. The city was formed in 1963 as a result of the merger of five cities: Kokura, Tobata, Yahata, Wakamatsu and Moji. The unique history, traditions and natural beauty of each city merged together and gave Kitakyushu its unique personality. Here, the locals really understand the definition of "work hard, play a lot!", which makes this trip absolutely unforgettable during your stay in the sunny southern region of Japan. The city is full of amazing places where cherry trees grow: have a picnic with the locals under the pink awnings in Katsuyama Park or admire the panoramic bird's-eye view from the top of Kokura Castle, located in the park. The Cyranoe Botanical Garden is also one of the most popular places, especially due to the fact that it is located high on a hill overlooking the Suo Sea. Wander among the bright seasonal flowers or have a cup of coffee at the Ohana Chaya Tea house to complete your visit to the botanical garden! Take a look at Mekari Park, which is popular with both bird-watchers and cherry blossom hunters. This large park stretches from the top of Mount Kojo all the way to the coast, providing plenty of space for picnics with sakura trees. Don't forget to admire the spectacular view of the Kanmon Strait from the park's observation deck while you're there!
