In Nara Park, Japan, you can interact with deer up close

The major attractions here include the Kasuga-taisha Shrine, the deer of Japan, and the cherry blossoms in March. Kasuga-taisha is one of the three great Shinto shrines of Japan, founded in the year 710, and has a history of over 1300 years. A prominent feature within the shrine is the ancient and weathered stone lanterns, numbering as many as 3000. For a thousand years, the cutting of trees on Mount Kasuga has been prohibited, making the mountain resemble a primeval forest with towering ancient trees and stone lanterns covered in moss, which adds a solemn and serene atmosphere to the shrine, with a quiet and mysterious path that is even a bit 'spooky'. There are nearly 1400 wild Japanese deer in Nara Park, which are free-ranging. If you have their favorite food, they will bow and follow you, just like pet dogs.
