Minhang Sports Park—It's the perfect time for winter outings

Minhang Sports Park, located at No. 456 Xinzhen Road, at the junction of Xinzhuang Town and Qibao Town in Minhang District, Shanghai, starts from Nongnan Road in the north, to Gudai Road in the south, Xinzhen Road in the west, and adjacent to Shanghai Outer Ring Road in the east. It was completed and opened to the public in January 2004. The total area of Minhang Sports Park is about 1260 acres, of which the park in the north covers 816 acres, the sports venues in the middle cover 200 acres, and the Tropical Storm Water Park in the south covers 244 acres. The main attractions include Emerald Mountain, Jinxiu Lake, and Hundred-Meter Flower Path. Jinxiu Lake covers an area of more than 100 acres. You can play in the water and boat on the lake. There are two islands of different sizes distributed in the center of the lake. The small island is a pure ecological island, and the other larger island is designed for visitors to rest on the island. More than ten kinds of fruit trees have been planted to form a flower and fruit island. Emerald Mountain is green all year round. As of October 2021, it covers an area of 100 acres. It is the highest man-made soil mountain in Shanghai formed by scientific soil improvement and strict environmental assessment of the original slag dump. The highest point of the mountain reaches an altitude of 25 meters. A large number of bamboos, plum trees, osmanthus, red leaf plums and other plants have been planted on the mountain. The longest children's slide in Shanghai lies on the northwest slope of the mountain, with a total length of 98 meters. You can slide from the top of the mountain to the foot of the mountain. The kilometer flower path is located on the east slope of Emerald Mountain, with a total length of about 1000 meters and a total area of 36,000 square meters. The flower path is planted with various spring flowers and shrubs, 3500 trees, and more than 40,000 spring flower ground covers. Among them, there are 1749 weeping begonias, 800 early cherry blossoms in Japan, as well as purple begonias, snow sprays, red luck magnolias, peaches, pears, apricots, mountain hemp poles, tulips, rapeseed, February orchids and other early spring concentrated flowering plants.
