🧚‍♀️I went to the ancient town of Zhujiajiao in Qingpu, Jiangnan, over the weekend and found another new landmark in the old street of the ancient town, which is the Zhujiajiao Daqing Post Office that has a history of 120 years and has been transformed into a 'new cultural space'! 📬The Zhujiajiao Daqing Post Office, which was established in 1903, is the only remaining site of the Daqing Post Office in East China. The iconic red brick and gray tile building, as well as the Qing Dynasty bronze dragon mailbox outside the post office, record the vicissitudes of time and are still in use today, with mail being collected every day. 💚The renovated Daqing Post Office retains its original charm while incorporating modern elements. The green national style color of the decoration is in harmony with the color of the mailbox, representing a fusion of traditional culture and new Chinese national aesthetics. 🏣The interior space has been functionally reshaped, with the layout including a Daqing Post Office cultural and creative area, a letter museum, and a corner living room. 💌In the cultural and creative area on the first floor, there is a grandmaster's chair and a long table with letters and ink. With stamps and postmarks, it feels like a return to the bygone era of letter writing. 📮Here you can mail to your present or future self, which is quite meaningful. For those who like to collect stamps, there are also many free stamps available. 📇Entering the second floor exhibition hall, you will find a letter museum themed 'Long Time No See', with walls full of yellowed letters, family letters, small notes, etc., as well as old items from the Daqing Post Office and artworks by contemporary artists. 📽️Further ahead is the 'Corner Living Room'. The steps are arranged in a tiered manner, and the large screen in front is at the perfect viewing distance. You can enjoy the aesthetic feeling brought by the space.
