Sunlight Rock

Sunlight Rock, commonly known as Yanzi Mountain, also known as Huangyan, is said to have been named by Zheng Chenggong when he came to Huangyan and found that the scenery here was better than that of Nikko Mountain in Japan. He disassembled the word 'Huang' and named it Sunlight Rock. At the same time, Sunlight Rock is the first place in Gulangyu Island to be illuminated by the morning sun. There are three sets of regular script inscriptions on the huge rock on the east side of Sunlight Rock. One of them is titled 'Heavenly Wind and Sea Waves' at the top; the second and third are at the bottom, with 'Gulang Cave Heaven' on the right and 'First of Lujiang' on the left. The Restoration Platform is located on the west-facing rock wall of the highest rock of Sunlight Rock, named after the horizontal title written by Hu Hanmin. In addition to this, there are many inscriptions by famous people on Sunlight Rock, including Cai Tingkai, Cai Yuanpei, Zhuang Shanyuan, etc.
