It was a wonderful stay! My family and I really love the hotel. From check in until check out, everything was smooth. Extra credit to the team and staff. We had a stay there to celebrate my husband’s birthday, they helped out with the decorations of the room. It was so delightful.
Check-in was smooth and the staff were friendly, professional, and always willing to help with any requests.
The room was clean, spacious, and well-maintained. The bed was comfortable, and the amenities provided (Wi-Fi, toiletries, coffee station, etc.) were more than adequate. Housekeeping did a great job each day.
Overall, this hotel offers great value for money. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and friendly service.
The hotel's location is excellent. There's a mall right downstairs, making shopping and dining super convenient. It's also close to other tourist attractions, and getting a taxi is quick and easy! We even ran into Chinese celebrity Huang Xiaoming and others promoting a movie at Gurney Plaza during our stay.
The facilities are good, including a jacuzzi and a shower with three spray angles. The entire room is well-laid out and spacious, and the balcony is a nice spot to sit. It's quite enjoyable to peek outside on a rainy day, though there's also an air conditioner outdoor unit. The stained glass is beautiful and the interior decor is interesting.
Overall, the service was friendly and polite, but there were some issues:
Regarding room tidying, when we were resting in the afternoon, the cleaning staff left a room key and came in to retrieve it. We didn't see who it was due to an obstruction, but it did startle me.
Important note: You *must* swipe your room card when leaving for the door to lock. This was not clearly communicated by the front desk.
In the breakfast area, we felt rushed even before closing time, and the food was just average.
The Muslim prayer call bell malfunctioned and rang for a while around 1 AM, which was disruptive.
It's very close to Do Chian Tea Room and Jay Chou's Founders on foot.
Lots of great things to say here. After spending a good amount of time in the main city Penang, this hotel in Batu Feringghi was a well deserved and almost dream-like escape that provided my lovely companion and I not only a chance to reset but it gave us the most romantic beach experience in all of Malaysia.
The hotel itself is nestled on a clifftop overlooking the wonderful and vibrant Malaysian beach and is walking distance not only to great restaurants and shops but also to many beach and water activities. I highly recommend having a dinner on the beach and watching the fire show before retreating back to the comfort of this hotel.
The hotel campus is nicely laid out with a gleaming downstairs entrance area that made us feel like we were in comfortable luxury from the first moment there. Our views from the room were spectacular and the room itself was quiet and peaceful. The staff went out of their way to make us feel at home and the on site amenities (spa and pool) were all above and beyond all our expectations. This was a perfect getaway trip and an excellent chance to see another side of beautiful Penang.
Overall, it was satisfying. The staff were polite and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. If possible, I'd suggest upgrading the TV channels; there were too few options. For guests like us who stay a bit longer, it gets a bit boring because there aren't any good TV programs.
My husband and I stayed for one night on the 29th, and overall it was a very pleasant experience. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The bed was cozy with fresh linens, making it perfect for a restful night. The service staff were friendly and attentive, and both check‑in and check‑out were smooth and efficient. Breakfast offered a good variety of local and international dishes, tasty and satisfying to start the day. Overall, we were happy with the stay. It’s a great choice for couples or families looking for comfort in Penang, and we would definitely consider returning in the future.
Seriously can't recommend this place enough! The location is fantastic; it's only about a 300-meter walk from where the ferry drops you off. The staff are incredibly welcoming. While we were checking in, they immediately offered each of us a bottle of water, which was a lifesaver because the Penang sun is no joke. Our room was very clean and tidy, and the mini-fridge was stocked with five different drinks. There was also a capsule coffee machine and a jar of candy on the coffee table. Housekeeping came daily to clean and restock everything. My only minor wish is that the breakfast selection could be a bit more varied.
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was spacious with a beautiful view, and the private beach made the experience even more special. The hotel facilities were great, and the service was excellent throughout our stay. Breakfast was also very varied and enjoyable.
When one of our rooms had an issue, the hotel responded quickly and handled it very well. They provided us with a new room, upgraded it, and even gave us a complimentary gesture.
Thank you, Angsana 🙏
Fantastic! Exceeded my expectations.
The swimming pool is great for families (two adults, one child), and the water is quite clean. Plus, there's a slide!
Inside the hotel, there's a huge swing set that's perfect for photos.
Breakfast offers a wide variety, including both Southeast Asian and Western options. The fruits are incredibly fresh, and the jackfruit was especially delicious.
All the hotel staff are very nice and have excellent attitudes.
They also provide complimentary bicycles for guests, including both single and tandem bikes.
Our room had a partial sea view, and all the amenities were very clean. The outlets are international, so I didn't need a travel adapter at all.
I highly recommend watching a fire show. You can find many options just a 10-minute walk down the beach.
When walking along the beach, you can really notice that the sand at the hotel's section is much finer than elsewhere.

GGuest UserThe Eastern & Oriental Hotel in Penang is a five-star hotel brimming with history, located in the George Town heritage area, and it's the only five-star hotel by the sea in the city center. The hotel is divided into the Victory Annexe and the Heritage Wing. Although the Heritage Wing is currently closed for renovations, the Victory Annexe still offers a comfortable stay. The rooms are spacious with vintage decor, and the infinity pool with sea views is impressive. Breakfast is varied and delicious. The hotel's location is excellent, within walking distance of Penang's main attractions, such as Mural Street and the Kimberley Street Night Market. In terms of service, the hotel provides private airport transfers and luggage assistance, demonstrating a high standard of service. Despite some facility limitations due to renovations, the overall value for money is still very high, making it suitable for travelers who appreciate a blend of history and modernity.

QQing666666This hotel is located in a Malay-majority region, right next to a water park. It's RM30 per person for kids aged 12 and under, plus RM20 to rent a swim ring, which was quite fun. The hotel's breakfast was pretty good, and the swimming pool was decent too. What really stood out was the gym – it was exceptionally large and fantastic!
GGuest UserI found out about this hotel, part of the Marriott brand, through the TV show 'Outbound Love'. It has a colonial Nanyang style, and while it's not a huge property, it's very refined. The suite has a separate room with a double bed. The pool is clean and there's a kids' pool too. Overall, the room was clean and the bedding was tidy. The breakfast isn't super extensive, but the rice noodles and Teh Tarik (pulled tea) were excellent. There was a welcome drink, and the service was warm and attentive, though I had trouble getting through to housekeeping by phone. The beach isn't owned by the hotel, and while there are boats, it's not ideal for swimming. The area around is very convenient with food options and a supermarket. The Shangri-La is right next door, and there's a mosque nearby, so you can hear the prayers clearly. My room faced the street, and I could hear motorcycles at night.

FFengqingmuxixiThe rooms are great and the pool is beautiful, perfect for a 'staycation'. The bar next door has a fantastic fire show in the evenings, and the singer is really good, creating an amazing atmosphere. Breakfast was also delicious.
