Christian Dongshan Church (East Gate)

The Christian Dongshan Church, originally called Dongshan Baptist Church, is the larger Christian Church in Guangzhou. Every Sunday, the faithful will gather here to convey their hearts and wishes to the Holy Christ. At the beginning of the twentieth century, a large number of returning overseas Chinese established private houses in Dongshan, including Christian missionaries. Dongshan Church was established in the first year of Xuantong, that is, in 1908 by American missionaries, which can be said to be a witness to Dongshan's rise. During the Cultural Revolution, church activities were forced to stop, and it was occupied as a public area for the people of the East Mountains, nurseries and communal kitchens, etc., and it was only taken back for use by the church in 87 years. The current Christian Dongshan Church has a chapel, a chapel, a Sunday school, etc., as well as a fish pond, garden and a resting pavilion. The main chapel is simple and solemn in its architectural style, which is Gothic and very beautiful.

The converted Dongshan Church sits west to east, covering an area of 3,300 square meters, with a main building area of more than 1,000 square meters, and is an American-style building with two-story reinforced concrete structures. There are buildings and wide venues such as chapel, sub-chapel, Sunday school and other buildings. There is a 1,300-seat rotunda inside the church, where the faithful pray and worship

Dongshan Christian Church is located in Beijintong, Dongshankou Temple, Guangzhou. It is a church with more than 80 years of history. Although the area is small and not very spectacular, it is very elegant and low-key, and the atmosphere of the many schools around it is very coordinated.
