Temple of the Six Banyan Trees

In the old city of Guangzhou, several temples are famous and all nearby. Like Liuxi Temple, Guangxiao Temple, Sanyuan Palace, and Big Buddha Temple, they are all at the foot of Yuexiu Mountain in Yuexiu District. Liuyan Temple can take Metro Line 2 to Zhongshan Memorial Hall or the park, or take Metro Line 1 to get off at the park or the West Gate. It takes about 10 minutes to walk out of the station. Now the temples are free and you can often go in and stroll around. Liuyan Temple was built in Liang Datong in 3 years (537), formerly known as Baozheng Temple, and has a history of more than 1400 years. It was destroyed in the early Northern Song Dynasty in the fire, and the Song Duangong was rebuilt in the second year (989) and renamed Jinghui Temple. Yuanfu three years (1100 years) Literatureist, calligrapher Su Dongpo once came to the temple to visit, see the temple there are Laoyu six plants, happy to inscription "Six" word, the later people called Liuyu Temple. There is a thousand Buddha pagoda in the temple, is a famous ancient high-rise building in Guangzhou. The east of the tower is the gate of the mountain, the Maitreya and the Weiyan Palace. The west of the tower is the temple of the great male, which is dedicated to the three statues of the bronze cast in the two years of Qing Kangxi (1663), which are the larger ancient bronze statues in Guangdong Province. The temple has a six-ancestral temple in the Huaiyin Garden, which serves as a bronze statue of the sixth generation of Zen ancestors, Huineng. The six-ancestral temple was founded by the distinguished monks of the Tang Dynasty. His bronze statue was cast in the second year of the Northern Song Dynasty Duangong (989), with a solemn and lifelike appearance.

The temple is a pagoda, with lush trees and a collection of cultural relics, leaving many famous people's footprints in history.

广州六榕寺原名宝庄严寺，五代十国时改称长寿寺，后因苏东坡手题“六榕”寺榜，后来遂称六榕寺。六榕寺最耀眼的建筑是它的塔楼，始建于南朝刘宋年间（420一479年），六榕寺塔楼梯上有层层叠叠、具有规整几何花边的楼梯顶，展示了古塔建筑中的重要工艺。
