At the intersection of the Suzhou River in Huangpu, No. 33 Zhongshan East Road, is the former site of the British Consulate General in Shanghai. One of the earliest historical buildings in the "Bund", was built in 1849 and rebuilt in 1872. The garden and the main building are typical British style. Only the roof is a small Chinese-style green tile laid with local materials. In 1996, it was listed as a key cultural and environmental protection unit in the Bund complex. After 2017, it was operated and managed by the Peninsula Shanghai Hotel. On days when there are no brand events and weddings, it is recommended to share afternoon tea with friends on the terrace facing the large lawn and overlook the high-rise buildings in Pudong. The interior of the hotel is luxurious and elegant. Just looking at the last two dressing rooms (toiletries) has already envied me and waited for the small people.

No. 33, Zhongshan East Road, former British Consulate General. From Shanghai Building to the south of the Suzhou River, the first building in the southern foot of the Waibaidu Bridge is the original British Consulate General. It can be regarded as the birthplace of the Bund. As the earliest existing building on the Bund front line, the Bund starts from the original British Consulate. From a tidal flat on the Huangpu River, it gradually changed to the "First Street of Far East Finance" with the World Building Expo. So this renovation will be named "Bund Yuan No. 1".
Old buildings in the historic district are also a witness.
The old consulate in European architectural style, it has a sense of history.
The former site of the British Consulate General in Shanghai should be on Nanjing West Road.
