Capital Theater (Beijing People's Art Theater)

Coming to Renyi to see the drama was not in my plan, and it turned out to be the most surprising site of my trip. The courtyard of Moyin Theatre was bought for tickets online. Old theatre, the most prominent building in Wangfujing area, as the Emperor, has not been patronized for many years. I feel very kind and hope to have the opportunity to patronize it again.

The design of the Capital Theatre built in 1954 is Lin Leyi, located at 22 Wangfujing Street. The Capital Theatre is a professional theatre affiliated to the Beijing People's Art Theatre. It is the first professional theatre built after the founding of New China. It can also be used for large-scale singing and dancing, theatrical performance and film projection. The classic plays of human art are all staged here.

The northern section of Wangfujing Street is close to the Art Museum, with little passenger flow, but it has a certain purity. The old building with the appearance of the theatre in the 1980s has still maintained its vigorous vitality. It has an uninterrupted drama performance all the year round. The posters posted at the entrance have the feeling of the 1980s and 1990s. It often has various performances in the evening, with the majority of middle-aged audiences.

Beijing People's Art Theatre, or Beijing People's Art Theatre for short, was founded on June 12, 1952. It is a national theatre and a Chinese drama group. Drama master Cao Yu was the first president. In the past 50 years, the Beijing People's Art Theatre has gone through a glorious journey just like the capital Beijing. Lao She's famous opera "Longxugou" is the foundation work of the Beijing People's Art Theatre. Soon after, Cao Yu's "Thunderstorm", "Sunrise", "Peking Man" and Guo Moruo's famous opera "Tiger Fu" were performed successively. In the 14 years before the Cultural Revolution, the Beijing People's Art Theatre created a total of 121 plays. It is the palace of Chinese people's culture and art.

Not to go to the old theatre, the environment is good, unfortunately in the alleys, after all, is not a new theatre, can not keep up with the times, so gradually will be preserved as historical relics, maybe also some drama, also staged here.

This is one of my favorite places in Beijing. Every year there are classic works on show. It's hard to get a ticket. I want to see the play again, but I always want to see it, but I can't get tickets. For example, Wotou Club Hall has not bought tickets for several years.

Beijing People's Art is the holy place of the literary and artistic sessions. Many classical dramas, such as thunderstorms, are staged here. Location is very easy to find. Walk along Wangfujing Pedestrian Street for about 10-15 minutes, opposite Jinmao Wanli Hotel! Very convenient!

I have seen a play in it. If you are interested in it, here is a good choice. There are large front theatres, teahouses or Longxugou Classic, followed by small theatres, performing some experimental drama.
