The unique genesis of the Ponzagonte Plateau was dug up and filled with orange and red pillar bases. The shapes of the rock columns were so fantastic that they resembled an amphitheatre, or castles, or bridges, or towers, or hammers, or even Queen Victoria. In this magnificent canyon, look at these grottoes, stone walls, stone cliffs, lamenting the transientness of mankind on this long axis of time, and the smallness of mankind when facing nature.
