Real Guest Reviews about Calgary Accommodations
"A frustrating stay at Doubletree. The front desk staff were polite, but it was downhill from there. (Although it's worth mentioning that we noticed later that other guests were offered cookies, which we were not for some reason). The rooms were very dim with only fluorescent lamps for lighting. Rooms were not cosy, and were awkwardly arranged. 'FREE' bottles of water were provided, but in small print there was a specification that these are only for Honors members of a certain rank, which we were not. This feels cheap and sneaky. I would have thought that a Doubletree could have provided its guests with a complimentary bottle of water. The lobby again is awkwardly arranged and didn't allow for any arrangement for socialising with other guests in our party. The bar closed too early, with rude staff telling unwilling to help us and telling us were were NOT to use the tables or any of the chairs in that section of the lobby. Breakfast was a joke. Located up a flight of stairs, with no lift accessing the room. Members of our party have mobility issues, so this was very disappointing. I assume the breakfast room is simply inaccessible for wheelchair users. The breakfast itself was greasy and unappetising , with a poor selection. Many of the stations were empty, with one member of staff trying to refill everything. It was incredibly understaffed. After another guest caused a small fire by putting a croissant in the toaster; I informed a member of staff, who accusingly asked if it was actually us who had caused it. Also, the coffee urn was empty almost from the start of breakfast. This same staff member walked around with coffee for refills, but then told us we could just get it ourselves, then asked us if we were SURE there was no coffee left in the urn. Overall, a disappointing stay, especially for a Doubletree. Would strongly advise you to stay elsewhere."
"Overpriced weekend All you can Eat at $44/person. Tavern Burger also had such a thin single patty, it was all bun and no beef. Sheraton Eau Claire should also consider adding a store to their lobby for last minute essentials. Lastly, at $51.45 per DAY for forced Valet parking, Sheraton is doing everything they can to bleed you of every last dime."
"Basic but comfy hotel, location is good for pick ups to go to Banff, circle K nearby."
"The room is relatively small compared to other North American hotels. It's very close to the city center, about a ten-minute drive. Coffee is available in the common area, and there's a microwave for use. Breakfast is also decent."
"Nice place to stay"
"Nice and cozy and clean. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Pool amenities is family-friendly too. Restaurant for breakfast is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Parking lot is accessible too. ❗️But my request to book my room atleast closer to my sister was not granted even they confirmed the day before we arrived. We were put on different floors instead. We booked for 4 rooms in total for this trip. 👎🏻"
