Short for Apex Legends Global Series, ALGS is the official top-tier professional esports tournament circuit for Apex Legends jointly hosted by EA and Respawn Entertainment. It serves as the ultimate career stage for pro trios, where teams grind online qualifiers and regional leagues to rack up Championship Points, secure seats at offline LAN playoffs and fight for the highest honor at the annual year-end world championship.

Core must-watch flagship tournaments across the whole season: Riyadh EWC Split 1 Playoffs, Las Vegas Split 2 Playoffs and Sapporo Year-End Global Championship, these three elite LAN events gather the world’s strongest rosters and carry the largest prize purses.

The full-season total prize pool hits $7,000,000 USD. Among the allocation, two Pro League Splits share $500,000 in total prize money, while each of the three core LAN tournaments is equipped with a $2,000,000 prize pool.

What is the ALGS Tournament Format and Advancement System?

What is the ALGS Tournament Format and Advancement System? VKG QQ

The professional ALGS circuit follows a highly structured, point-based system split into seasonal stages that lead to a physical bracket tournament.

1. Pro League Regular Season

Each of the four global regions hosts 30 established teams, divided evenly into three groups of 10 (Groups A, B, and C).

  • The Process: Teams play in a double round-robin format over several weeks. Each group plays against every other group multiple times. A single match day consists of a 6-map set.
  • Scoring: Teams earn placement points and 1 point per kill during each map. At the end of a match day, series points (ranging from 25 points for 1st place to 1 point for 20th place) are awarded based on the overall lobby standings.

2. Regional Finals and Playoffs Qualification

At the conclusion of the regular season, the top 20 teams based on accumulated series points in each region advance to the Regional Finals. The Regional Finals use the Match Point format. The final standings combine the regular season points and Regional Finals performance to determine which teams receive invitations to the global live Playoffs. The allocation of playoff slots varies slightly by region based on historical performance data.

3. The Global LAN Playoffs Format

A total of 40 teams from around the world qualify for each Split Playoff. The live event uses a three-stage tournament system:

  • Group Stage: The 40 teams are divided into four groups of 10 (Groups A, B, C, and D). Every group plays a 6-map series against every other group. The top 20 teams based on total points advance directly to the Winners Bracket. The bottom 20 teams drop to Losers Bracket Round 1.
  • Bracket Stage:
    • Losers Bracket Round 1: The bottom 20 teams play a 6-map series. The top 10 advance to Losers Bracket Round 2, while the bottom 10 are eliminated from the tournament.
    • Winners Bracket: The top 20 group stage teams play a 6-map series. The top 10 advance directly to the Match Point Grand Finals. The bottom 10 drop to Losers Bracket Round 2.
    • Losers Bracket Round 2: Consists of the bottom 10 teams from the Winners Bracket and the top 10 teams from Losers Bracket Round 1. They play a 6-map series; the top 10 advance to the Grand Finals, and the bottom 10 are eliminated.
  • Grand Finals (Match Point Format): The remaining 20 teams compete with no set match limit. To win the championship, a team must first reach the 50-point threshold to become "Match Point Eligible." Once eligible, that team must win an entire match (secure 1st place in a game) to close out the tournament and claim the title.

How and When to Buy Live ALGS Tickets

How and When to Buy Live ALGS Tickets

Attending an ALGS live event requires purchasing tickets through specific regional platforms selected by EA or partner organizers.

1. Riyadh Split 1 Playoffs (Esports World Cup)

  • Ticket Status: Available Now Sold through the Esports World Cup site, not EA directly:
  • Page: esportsworldcup.com — ALGS at EWC 26
  • Dates: Jul 7–11, 2026 @ Boulevard City
  • Regular Tournament Pass (5 days): from SAR 324 (VAT included)
  • Premium Pass (5 days + fast track + goodie bag): SAR 644
  • Weekly All Access Pass (Week 1, Jul 6–12): SAR 1,125 — all EWC events that week, including ALGS
  • When to buy: No announced cutoff; major esports weeks in Riyadh sell through in waves. If you’re flying in, buying earlier is safer for planning, not because EA posted a “last day” yet.

2. Las Vegas Split 2 Playoffs

  • Ticket Status: Not yet on sale
  • Expected Release: Tickets usually go on sale roughly 6 to 8 weeks before the event. Expect an official sales launch around late August or early September 2026.
  • Where to Buy: Sales will be hosted through the Orleans Arena official box office and standard US ticket vendor networks (such as Ticketmaster), linked directly from the official ALGS site (algs.ea.com).

3. Sapporo Year 6 Championship

  • Ticket Status: Not yet on sale
  • Expected Release: Sales are estimated to open around November or December 2026.
  • Where to Buy: Ticket systems will utilize Japanese domestic platforms like Lawson Ticket (L-Tike) alongside international English-language purchasing portals. Due to the high density of the local fanbase, these tickets routinely sell out during the initial pre-sale lottery phases.
