St Margaret's Hotel

The hotel is situated in a quiet residential area, about 20 minutes walk to city centre and you will walk past a lot of magnificent buildings including Keble College. There are only 11 guest rooms and the hotel is really warm and cozy. The room was very clean and the staff was very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was served in the observatory, which was beautiful and amazing. There were a lot of books around and you could take one with you! The breakfast was mainly continental but there was also some hot food such as scrambled eggs, tomatoes and beans. It’s included in the room price, so very good value for money. On-site free parking as well. Overall we had a very enjoyable stay. Only one minor issue was that you could hardly adjust the temperature of the shower water (we booked two rooms, one had that issue, the other one was normal) and it became hotter and hotter as time went by.
The Talkhouse

The talkhouse was a really homely accommodation right outside of Oxford. The room was exactly like the pictures. The staff were incredibly helpful and I must say the showers is probably one of the best I’ve had in the uk. (Proper water pressure, temperature and drainage so I’m not swimming in my own filth). Also have a drink or dinner at the pub, it’s seems to be a popular favourite amongst the locals as well. One thing to note for light sleepers, the rooms are side by side so you might hear your neighbours & it is right by the road so you’ll be able to hear vehicles at busier times.
Virginia House Bed & Breakfast

This small B&B is really a gem. Our hosts, Mike and Barbara are, in my opinion, the very perfect hosts. The rooms we had (we had one, our friends another) were the cleanest I have ever stayed at, and I spend many nights every year in four and five star hotels over the world. Absolutely spotless. Comfortable bed and a nice shower. The breakfast is something not to miss. Homemade granola, fruits and juices amongst other delicacies. Barbara also cooked us a full English breakfast, as well as other options. All just perfect. Mike served the table, a nice host (as they both are), observant to our needs and really pleasant landlord. I do recommend this to all people that expect high standards at fair price.
The Sportsview Guest House

The only homestay booked in this trip is a little distance from the center of Oxford Town. It takes about 20 minutes to walk. There is a separate yard to do the parking lot. It is very difficult to park at Oxford. Breakfast is done on site, there is also self-service, and the service brother is very good. The location of the front desk is not very clear, the room is on the highest floor, there is no elevator, the stairs are narrow, it will be very difficult to carry heavy luggage, and the bath water adjustment is not very good.
Harris Guest Accommodation

I was initially a bit worried about staying here from the other reviews, but the place must have had a recent revamp or something because our room was absolutely fine! I felt like the place deserved an updated review as the majority of the reviews on here are from a while ago. I requested a room at the back after seeing some people mentioning the rooms at the front were a bit noisy at night time and I was grateful we were given a room at the back. The bathroom looked modern, the shower was good, comfy bed and the cleanliness was all fine. Yes the room is a bit on the small side, and the sitting area out the front could probably do with updating too, but for the price we paid I feel like it was fair. We literally just wanted somewhere to crash after attending a gig at the 02 Academy up the road so this guesthouse was perfectly fine for that purpose. No brekkie supplied, but there are some lovely cafe's up the road you can pop into for that. No complaints here!

It’s a little way out of the centre but there are buses passing by every couple of minutes. It’s comfortable well appointed the walls are a little thin but it’s ok. You also have to go up a flight of stairs.

We had an a enjoyable 2 night stay here. Car parking was available at the front, the 2 rear parking spaces were taken, it is a little tricky to reverse into. We had one of the bedrooms on the front, it has en suite facilities and was adequate for our needs. The only drawback is that the main road is very noisy. The breakfast is good, with a good choice of cereals, together with croissants, toast and very good coffee machine. It is a 15-20 minutes walk into the city centre, although we mainly used the bus service, which run around every 10 minutes. We did the 'free' walking tour in the city which was very good, overall we really enjoyed our trip to Oxford.

Although the furniture in the room is a bit old, the layout of the wire socket is not beautiful, but the owner's service is in place and responsive. The breakfast was also good. The host also reminded us that if we want to finish the meal at eight o'clock, we can go to the restaurant at 7:30 to save the waiting time. There is a large collection of masters in the restaurant that are worth watching. The host is a Chinese couple, who has a convenient conversation and also pointed us to a delicious Chinese restaurant.

Very very basic. Very little care taken in general. Room was ok but small and stuffy. Decor run down . Corridors cramped and shabby. Desk was unmanned, had to buzz to get staff over road from their “ sister “ hotel. They seemed disinterested. Little local knowledge. Walls paper thin. When i left in the morning , I walked out into a building site - the whole section , including the front door , had been sectioned off workmen - who shouted at me for not wearing a hard-hat 😂 would have been nice to get a heads up from the hotel this was happening. You get what you pay for , and this was cheap , but I won’t be staying again. Recommend avoiding
Red Mullions Guest House

I like this English-style house. The room has a large bed (1.5 meters) and a small bed. It is very good. The radiator is not open, but the room is still very warm. The towel rack in the bathroom is heated and the towels are warm. Warm. The open space of the room is barely open for two 26-inch suitcases. Bottled water is provided, along with three cups of hot cocoa and coffee. The breakfast is good, the bread is also baked, warm, very good. The room we stayed in was on the 2nd floor, and a small yard view was visible outside the window. The hotel is some distance from the university campus. We go to the campus or go to eat, all by car. The Oxford town is still very big.
