I used to be a frequent guest at the W SF back when it was Starwood but had not visited since Marriott took over the W Brand. I did try and stay last year but before arriving I read that the restaurant was closed and I asked the hotel what they were doing as an alternative, but they had absolutely nothing for Platinum Breakfast (other than 1k points per stay which is a HUGE downgrade), so I opted for another hotel. I had high expectations for this stay as I had previously loved this hotel, but as a frequent traveler in Marriott brands and having one of their Highest Elite traveler statuses (and staying at W Brands lately), I knew service levels were still suffering post pandemic. Unfortunately, it started low right from the beginning. I had confirmed a Studio Suite in advance. When I arrived, I was given a corner room that almost seemed smaller than standard rooms (Room 2109). I inquired about upgrades to larger rooms, and I was told no, because it was a busy weekend, and nothing would be available. I checked on the app and saw that every room type was available for the length of my stay and beyond. I was basically DOWNGRADED. Once settling into the room, then I realized the major issues. Smaller rooms should be easier to clean, right? Well, this one not only had carpet stains, but I quickly found out that the ”Marriott Commitment to Clean” was actually a Commitment to Ignore. Not only were their stains on the carpet and dust and dirt in the windowsills, I found a previous guest's room keys sitting on the counter. Obviously, the room was just ”re-set” and not inspected or cleaned at all. I guess the promised sanitizing was out of the question. We then went to get some ice and noticed that the ice bucket was half filled with standing water. It was disgusting! Thats not the worst part, I then found a pair of women's ”play-style” lingerie slightly soiled sitting on the floor by the sofa. I mentioned the cleanliness issues to the Front Desk, but the representative simply stared at me and then asked if there was anything else I needed? I should have been a bit more insistent that they take it down, but I was so shocked I did not. The room setup, although smaller than what I wanted and pre-confirmed, was also not great. There is no storage at all other than the closet. There are no drawers at all or other places to keep clothes or anything else. If you have two suitcases, you are going to have to keep them out as there is no place to put them in the closet. Other than the Front Desk and Room Condition, we had a nice stay, although the Room is really what we paid for. The rest of the staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful. The breakfast staff were great, and the food was amazing! Kudos for them for sure! Actually, the only place I was every recognized or thanked for being a Marriott Elite was from the hostess at Breakfast. The bellhop was also quite nice and helpful when we checked-out and needed to store lugga

I had a fantastic time at this hotel. I booked a fairmont exterior king room with a view. The room itself was nice but what I really liked was the walk in wardrobe and luxurious marble bathroom with his and hers sinks. Breakfast at the hotel and dinner in the Tonga room was also really good. Customer Service was top dollar. The only criticisms I would have are that:- 1) There was only one functioning lift from the main foyer to hotel rooms, 2) upon checking in a hold fee of $100 per night is placed on your debit/ credit card (only returnable 5-7 days after departure) and 3) some of the meals were overpriced, I was charged approx $55 for a medium sized pizza and bottle of water on one night. Overall, enjoyed my stay and would return.

Location of the hotel is good. As told, left side of the hotel is more safe than the right side as there are not many homeless people on the left side. The hotel provides daily cleaning and refills bath amenities automatically. The air conditioning is quite cool but can be adjusted, nevertheless, the blanket is not thick enough which slightly affected sleeping quality.

We chose this hotel because of the location for getting to the trolley, a Hop-on Hop-off tour stop, the local bus system, and the nearby BART system. For this it did not disappoint. The price is reasonable, and the hotel was very clean, and the staff was very friendly. From this, I digress. The noise level during the nights, was that a very loud level. All from external. Sirens, music, loud cars and trucks going by, garbage trucks in the middle of the night, quite a bit of yelling, and the like. Normal ear plugs did not help. If you stay here, you will need some heavy duty ear plugs. We get up earlier and the hotel lobby coffee was not ready ever before 7:00 a.m. there is coffee in the room, however if you need real creamer, you'll be out of luck until 7:00 approximately. Not a terrible review, just want people to be aware.

The front desk staff (Ben & Daimler) greeted me with HUGE smiles after a long flight. They offered me a much needed quiet room and even upgraded me to a beautiful suite. Complimentary wine tasting was going on in the lobby with live music. My room was beautiful and very clean. After unpacking, I realized I forgot toothpaste. I went downstairs on my way to dinner and asked the front desk if they had any extras, they brought it to my room along with an extra toothbrush while I was gone (amazing!). Great location. Walkable to so many restaurants. Will definitely stay again.

When we reached hotel, we were informed to pay destination fee of USD25 (excl tax) per day, you may use it to make purchases in hotel. Need to request for kettle n bedroom slippers n etc. The shower tap was so confusing to use. The toiletries was not check n refill (eg: no conditioner at day 3). There is only 1 toilet roll, no spare one. The phone can only use with speaker, cannot use receiver cos there is no cord. The service is below expectation for a reputable hotel like Westin n destination fees is really a surprised.

It is a clear and tidy hotel with no doubt. However, some of its staff were extremely rude. I went down to ask them if the hotel offered turndown services. The man starred at me then asked, in a highly disrespectful tone, “what do you mean by a turndown service?” Completely shocked that I would encounter such a question at a Nikko hotel, I could not say a word for like ten seconds while that man continued starring at me. How can I reason his behavior if not an intentional embarrassment?

Close to Fisherman's Wharf and restaurants. The $30 daily ”hotel fee” seemed a bit much for a ”free” bottle of water and internet access. They could have at least included free coffee in the lobby. We did take advantage of the nice bikes, so we got our money's worth. Room smelled fresh every day and didn't have that musty smell you sometimes have after a few days. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Usually don't stay at Hyatt, but would definitely return to this one.

It is not very good. I thought that San Francisco lived comfortably. I used to have a good impression of the Marriott brand. But this Marriott hotel is too old. When I booked it, I can live for 4 people. As a result, 2 people feel that the room is too small compared to Shanghai. The Marriott is too far away, and the price is high. In short, after booking a hotel, the old hotel is not good.

Amenities are really lacking - the room lacked basic items, including no free water in the room, no slippers, only one dressing gown (despite being booked for two people). Temperature controls were inconsistent. The lighting was either on or off - no way to turn off just a few. Service was predominately pretty poor - staff were grumpy and aloof from our arrival onwards. But Sammie was fantastic - when we encountered an issue with the heating in our original room she was super accommodating and friendly. Redeeming qualities - the room was really clean, housekeeping were great, the view from the roof was great, and the location was walking distance from so many places (MOMA, Union Square, Oracle Stadium, Chase Stadium, Pier 33 for Alcatraz, ferry building etc) as well as good food options.

Car rental next to the hotel. And the prices aren't too bad by San Francisco standards. Somehow/someway we managed to get one of the few rooms with an enclosed porch. The hotel staff were very accommodating with our request around our travel arrangements. Room was comfortable and spacious even with us as a family of 4- and we had older children in our family - so not small children! Very clean, good resources and equipment in the room. Slight down side was inability to open window due to room location and security as on the urban /street side but the positive is less road noise and the air conditioning worked perfectly on the few occasions we did use it. Smart clean and simple yet functional decor and furnishings. Good outside spaces to relax. Good space downstairs for games placed in situ - such as monopoly etc. Water and ice readily available on each floor. Nice to see efforts towards not using single use plastic. Plenty of access to water and little treats in the reception area. Plenty of coffee in room and accessible coffee downstairs at reception early morning . Staff responsiveness was brilliant- reception and front of house/door service staff . They are very busy but really make an effort to assist you where possible. Friendly and helpful- really great service and friendly response which was so welcoming for tired travellers! And so helpful with our leaving/check out arrangements and luggage storeage.

We absolutely adored the look and feel of the place and were totally charmed by its looks, but that faded after we got situated a little. The first thing we noticed was that with 2 suitcases and our carryons we needed all the chair and sofa space for the bags, that left us nowhere to actually sit, we were looking for a dresser or desk of some sort to set things on that would have given us a usable sitting area. Because of that, we had to sit in bed to watch TV, which is quite a ways across the room and very small. The next surprise came when the restaurant next door started their dinner service and we could hear the sound of glassware and even could hear some louder conversations as if we were sitting at the table, if there was AC so you could close the windows it would help a lot. The final thing that did it for us was the firmness of the beds, if you like an extra firm rock-solid bed this will be perfect, as for us we really didn't sleep much for 3 nights. The front desk folks were all top-notch and really saved the stay for us, they really know the city, had great recommendations and were so pleasant! Having the valet parking was wonderful and really helpful for us, I was worried about where we would have to park, but their valet is only a little higher than the cost for the self-park. The location of the hotel is perfect, with lots of things within walking distance, including some great places to eat. In all this place is a charmer, but has some flaws that could be easily remedied.

Stayed here for 2 nights and was pleasantly surprised. Prices are quite affordable considering it's in San Francisco. The location was great. I booked this hotel in particular primarily because of its rather close proximity to the BART station. It is indeed only a 10-minute walk from Montgomery station, although if you're arriving from the airport be prepared to drag your bags uphill. The hotel is smack dab in the middle of Chinatown in a rather busy area. I never felt unsafe here, whether evening or early morning, as there are always people milling about minding their own business. If you like walking, you can journey to Fisherman's Wharf within 30 minutes on foot, which is what I did. You can also walk in the opposite direction toward Westfield and Target if you like to shop. There are several bus stops and tram lines nearby. As for the room, it was small but didn't feel cramped. There's no air-conditioning but it was rather chilly in July so I had no issues with heat. No problems with the shower either. Checking in and out were a breeze. I was even able to order food through GrubHub (because most restaurants in that area close at 8 pm even on weekends, which I found out the hard way!) I suppose my only complaint would be that you can definitely hear your neighbors at all times. I could hear someone stomping on the floor above, and sometimes I'd get noise from the rooms adjacent to mine. I was able to sleep just fine, though, as the bed was really comfortable. I'd changed my hotel to this one at the last minute and I'm glad I did. Apart from the occasional noise, I had a lovely stay.

I also feel safe while staying here because the neighborhood is secure (of course you also need to stay alert & careful).

Beautiful hotel in good location for us. Had appetizers and wine in the bar area. Servers were wonderful, friendly and checked back often. Sara at the front desk conducted the nicest check-in experience we can recall. Our king room on the 12th floor was a bit small. Surprised that in California the in-room coffee involved so much wasted cardboard and paper just to get a bit of sugar. Small complaint, though.

We’ve stayed several St.Regis and this was one of the best. Amazing service and fantastic views of the city in the heart of downtown. The service really stands out. The bed was comfortable, the bathtub was fabulous to soaking. The staff was very professional and welcoming. We will be back someday.

Others are okay, that is, people who go up and down have no smiles, which makes people puzzled.

The location is very good, the other hotel environment can only be like this. The price is still ok. The service at the front desk is not complimenting. There was no breakfast at the hotel, and there was no pot boiling water. I asked the front desk and let go to Starbucks. In fact, there is a supermarket across the road, offering a variety of drinks and food. After 12 o'clock in the evening, it is estimated that people who are drunk are shouting loudly on the road, all the sounds enter the room, and all the windows are open.
