The hotel is right at the entrance to Elephant Trunk Hill. Though the facade isn't grand, the location is absolutely superb. The pier for the Two Rivers and Four Lakes cruise is right at the hotel's doorstep, so after a tiring boat trip, you can head straight back. The room's bed is very comfortable, and the air conditioning provides good warmth. The empty space was larger than I expected. There's a Luckin Coffee in the lobby, which is perfect for a coffee lover like me. When you're tired from walking, you can go to the Sky Bar on the hotel's rooftop to watch the traffic go by. It's a small, very stylish lounge bar, and the sunsets are beautiful in the evening. The view is amazing. The hotel was great! They upgraded our room for free, and it was well-equipped with good decor and a separate wet and dry area in the bathroom. The lobby's self-service tea and snack bar offered a wide variety, including freshly ground coffee without sugar. The hotel's location is excellent, very close to the No. 1 entrance of Elephant Trunk Hill, just a ten-minute walk. They also provided travel guides, which was helpful for getting around. Can I say that I discovered a treasure shop when I drove to Guilin?
I drove from Yangshuo to Longsheng to see the Longji Terraces. I did some research online and finally chose the hot spring area. After I came here, I looked at every one. They were either shabby or had poor hardware facilities. Only this one was newly renovated, so I decided to stay here!
It is the off-season now, the price is 388. Since the room we booked is next to the hotel's kitchen, the thoughtful lady upgraded us to the family room on the fourth floor for free after registering at the front desk. It is so clean, and there is a smart toilet. The balcony is the viewing platform, a natural oxygen bar. The lady asked us when we wanted to take a bath, and immediately went to flush the pool, put water, and went to the kitchen to heat up the rice sausage for us. After putting the water in, she notified us again. It was so comfortable. This is definitely real hot spring water, because I was exhausted after soaking for more than ten minutes. At night, the hotel also thoughtfully prepared good night porridge, which was comfortable and I slept until dawn...
Before seven o'clock in the morning, the lady put the water in again. After the bath, I had breakfast in the restaurant. The rice noodles were so delicious. The soup was braised by the hotel itself, so fragrant. There were many varieties of preserved egg porridge, buns, dim sum, sweet potatoes 🍠 taro, and oil tea. While eating, I washed and dried my clothes on the fifth floor. When I checked out, the store also thoughtfully sent me souvenirs. It was an unforgettable trip to Longsheng Hot Spring. Honestly, the hotel's location is unbeatable. Stepping out, you're right at the Elephant Trunk Hill scenic area, and you can see the Sun and Moon Pagodas from your room. The pedestrian street is right next door, making dining and shopping incredibly convenient. However, the hotel facilities leave a lot to be desired.
First off, there are quite a few good hotels in this area. I specifically booked this one because it advertised having a Guinness-certified artificial waterfall. Ctrip also stated that there would be a water curtain show every night from 8:30 PM to 8:40 PM until December 31, 2025. But when I arrived and asked the front desk, they informed me that the artificial waterfall has been broken for ages and there's no water curtain show. That was disappointing enough, but what's even more ridiculous is that on the day we checked in, Guilin's highest temperature was 25 degrees Celsius, yet the hotel's central air conditioning had its cooling function turned off for the day. We could only use the heating. If we felt hot, our only option was to open the window for ventilation. For someone who easily gets hot, this was incredibly uncomfortable. Plus, there were no screens on the windows, so two mosquitoes flew in at night and bit us, keeping us awake all night. Luckily, we were only staying for one night; otherwise, we would have wanted to switch hotels as soon as we entered the room.FromAU$86

My husband and I took our two kids to Guilin for the weekend and ended up being ”neighbors” with Elephant Trunk Hill for two days – the kids were absolutely thrilled! The hotel was clean and hygienic, and since we had children with us, they provided kids' toiletries, slippers, and other amenities, showing truly thoughtful and attentive service. We had a lot of luggage, and the hotel staff enthusiastically helped us with it. The front desk was also very patient during check-in.
There's a dessert shop on the first floor with really good desserts at reasonable prices. I ordered a bowl of red bean tangyuan (small glutinous rice balls), and it was fantastic – the red beans were perfectly soft and mushy, and the tangyuan were incredibly chewy. The Jingxiang Pavilion on the sixth floor is perfect for afternoon tea, with large floor-to-ceiling windows where you can read a book and enjoy the scenic mountain and river views outside – truly relaxing. On the seventh floor, there's a restaurant with a large terrace where you can take photos with Elephant Trunk Hill and admire the Li River scenery.
I guess because Christmas is approaching, many public areas of the hotel were decorated with Christmas ornaments – the kids loved it! They were hugging the yarn-wrapped cones one moment and touching the Christmas gifts on the tables the next. The hotel's location is also excellent; it's just across the road from the entrance to Elephant Trunk Hill Park, super convenient for taking the kids out. Cross a bridge, and you're at a plaza with commercial streets like Little Hong Kong and Zhengyang Pedestrian Street, making it easy to find food and entertainment.FromAU$100

This was our second night in Guilin. We originally booked a newly opened B&B, but due to road construction, parking was inconvenient, so we booked the Shangri-La next door instead. Like other Shangri-La hotels I've stayed at, it was decent and showcased the luxury and aesthetic of older five-star hotels that appealed to the previous generation's idea of opulence. The room wasn't huge but was very clean. The hotel grounds are extensive, and the lobby is grand and magnificent with excellent facilities. Parking was easy, and the service was very warm. My only complaint was that the children's play area charged an extra fee, which felt out of place even though it was only 69 RMB. I didn't get to use the hotel pool. A five-star Li River view hotel that's absolutely worth it! This will definitely be our go-to stopover for future trips. Both adults and kids loved it so much they didn't want to leave. We originally booked for two nights but extended for an extra night. My child said it was truly unforgettable!
The hotel owner is very thoughtful. They have a rooftop fish pond for afternoon tea, a Zen room, a library, a large tea table, and even some simple gym equipment. There's something for everyone in the family to enjoy and relax – that's what a vacation should feel like. The owner is also very nice; we bumped into him and his wife while feeding cormorants by the river, and they even let my child try kayaking!

I've always kept an eye on Club Med, and this summer, after a lot of research, I decided to go for the all-inclusive Club Med Guilin, mainly because I was worried about crowded attractions. Plus, Guilin is close to us. The room was definitely too small, and the decor felt a bit dated. For over 3,000 RMB a night for our family of three, the living conditions didn't quite match the price. However, the good outweighed the bad. The activities at Club Med were incredibly rich and varied; my child was busy from morning till night. Dropping them off at the Mini Club really freed up our hands as adults. We'd pick them up around 3 PM for afternoon tea and swimming, and then there were evening shows. The sheer number of activities was fantastic! My only gripe was that the Mini Club didn't provide any photo updates. As a parent, I'd really love to see what my child is up to during activities. The service was quite attentive, and even though the resort is huge, you can always call for a shuttle to get around. The buffet in the restaurant offered a decent variety, but the taste was just average, on par with a 100 RMB buffet outside. The G.O.s were very enthusiastic. It also happened to be my husband's birthday during our stay, and a G.O. came with a cake to celebrate during dinner, which was a nice touch. Our butler, Donna, was very responsive to all our questions. There's a sky garden on the 14th floor with panoramic views of Guilin's stunning mountains and rivers. In the morning, the sunshine fills the entire courtyard, making it wonderfully warm and cozy. In the evening, you can catch the beautiful sunset glow, and the night view is absolutely breathtaking 🫨.
The breakfast on the 13th floor is also very extensive. You don't even have to leave the hotel to enjoy Guilin rice noodles, a daily essential for Guangxi locals. Make sure to grab a window seat – the first rays of morning sun hitting the table felt incredibly blissful.
The guest rooms are clean and bright, with complete facilities. They even have a laundry room, gym, and a kids' play area.
The attractions in Guilin city are quite concentrated. Elephant Trunk Hill, Binjiang Road, Jingjiang Prince City, East and West Alleys, Sun and Moon Pagodas – you can pretty much walk to them all. They’re about three to four kilometers from the hotel, so getting around is very convenient. Just grab a shared bike on the street for a nice city walk.

The room is quiet, non smoking. View is okay during winter (Too much fog so can't see much). However, the cold mode of the air conditioner wasnt working. So I can't make the room colder (the lowest the room temp has been was 21°C, and thats with the help of the natural air outside!).

I can't believe the best hotel I've ever stayed at is in Guilin! It's not about extravagant design, but every detail reflects thoughtfulness. All the staff I encountered were incredibly easygoing and attentive, without needing extra words.
In the evenings, you can dine while enjoying the Twin Pagodas of Sun and Moon, and for breakfast, you can admire the unique green mountains. The location is super convenient; just downstairs, you can run or stroll along the river, and at night, there's a snack street right next door.
The hotel's own restaurant serves excellent dinner, and breakfast is also provided by the restaurant. Every dish is prepared by a real chef, featuring freshly stewed chicken soup, steamed phoenix claws, homemade red bean and Job's tears drink, and more. It's not a pile of pre-made, additive-filled dishes; it's the kind of breakfast that actually motivates me to get out of bed!

Overall the hotel was good. It was very clean which was something that's important in a hotel stay. The breakfast buffet was good too with local food and some western choices. Unfortunately their restaurant was closed and they only offer snacks at their coffee bar. The pool and gym was still closed, hope they can re.open sooner.
I asked for extra coffee cream and water and they gave it without any charge. I got the room upgrade and late check out from Trip.com membership. It was interesting because we were having a late night flight and we were hoping to stay a bit. During the first day I was told to check out at 2pm but the following day I was told the latest is 4pm. I didn't have a good time when we checked in. We didn't fell the warmth that we normally enjoyed in previous accomodations. We were also left to carry our bags to our room. The staff the following day were more accomodating.

First, I want to clarify that this is not a positive review, and it has nothing to do with the staff. In fact, all the staff members I encountered were polite, greeted guests proactively, and went above and beyond to solve problems. I'm writing a neutral review in the hopes that it will be seen more by hotel management.
Let's start with the positives:
There are many hotels in Xingping, but fewer internationally renowned brands. Hilton therefore stands out. The hotel has an excellent location. If you're heading to Chaobanshan Pier, it's a quick trip. The main room types face east, and if the weather is good, the sunrise views are undoubtedly very pleasant.
Now for the actual experience.
Regarding check-in:
The front desk was understaffed, and check-in was quite slow. We checked into a family room last Thursday afternoon. The two front desk agents were each assisting a guest. One seemed to be going through a process involving on-site photo check-ins to get a room upgrade; the other was assisting someone using sign language. Neither process was fast. The front desk agent then left for a moment to guide the sign language user to their room. I was standing there with two elderly relatives over 75 for more than 10 minutes before we finally checked in. If I had known it would take so long, they could have suggested we sit in the lobby first.
By the way, the lobby felt cramped due to the excessive number of items displayed.
Regarding the room:
Upon entering the room, we discovered the air conditioning unit didn't have Chinese labels, so the elderly couldn't operate it independently.
This was my first time encountering a phone that was completely out of order. To find someone, you had to walk a long way to the front desk. The staff member who came to fix it worked on it for a long time, sweating profusely. It was quite a tough job. Eventually, they got it working, but there was still static. The balcony light also couldn't be turned on. I suggest the hotel conducts facility checks before guests check in.
The toilet model and its placement were incompatible. The toilet had several buttons, but because they were on the left side, and there was only a small trash can's width between the left side and the wall, it was impossible to see the labels or operate them. Let alone the elderly trying to operate it by touch, even an adult would have to squat down to see the labels and operate it.
The triple room stated that one of the beds was a sofa bed. However, this sofa bed was not very comfortable and had a significant sinking feeling. Hope for improvement.
Summary. It wasn't as good as another B&B we stayed at in Yangshuo. We stayed in a triple room on the third floor there, with both mountain and garden views visible, which I would highly recommend if you like that. A big brand still provides a more reliable experience.

The hotel itself could not be any closer to the mountains. The backyard is right against the rock wall. There are neat tables in the back for evening dining (or smokers). There's a small kitchen which can prepare breakfast and other meals. They serve cooffees, fruit drinks, beers and wines. Plenty of restaurants and a convenience store are close by. The staff go out of their way.to ensure guests are comfortable and content. They offer discount VIP seats to the show and cheap electric donkeys for hire. Nice stay and recommended. Can accommodate foreigners.
