Good points: The location is perfect, city centre. Service is above average. We had the breakfasts, not buffet style but actually v good. Al carte style, not easy to over eat.walking distance to a lot of attractions and starting points of local tours. Staff at reception were helpful and friendly. Above average. Check in. Check out smooth. Although my family of 4 while in UK, would book 2 rooms, recently, probably for the fun of the booking staff (definitely felt intentional) or the inadequacy of the computers, our family would be placed in 2 rooms in different floors, this time it DID NOT HAPPEN. So special thanks to W hotel for making this normal request come true. Not good points: Although nothing wrong with artificial friendliness, however, when all our luggage was delayed by British Airway, and there was a reasonable line in check in. The reception staff maybe could cut down the chatting with the guests and focused in doing the job and checking us in quicker. House keeping was below average, dirty glasses were not cleaned or replaced for TWO days. However this was not uncommon in UK in general. Breakfast ordering in the restaurant, orders were missed twice but actually above average in UK. Reminder: The hotel slippers were nice. Available on request, they would pretend the slippers were in the rooms, they would be available when requested Free. Thanks.

the hotel is centrally located and walkable to all major site, it is attached to the only shopping mall in downtown so it is really convenient. the architectural design of the hotel is unique and stands out amongst historical buildings around, and very photogenic. However I have stayed in many W hotels around the world and I found this one interior qualities not up to par with the others, the decor and material of my room is cheap and not special, the toilet is so small and cramp, the vanity and sink is around 60cm and single sink, very tight to even get dry and undress. the room is dark with very small window, i think i stay in the back wing. Though the beds as usual are very comfortable. the hotel doesnt have much amenities there is no pool, entry lobby is very small [relatively], only one restaurant double as breakfast cafe and at night a japanese chain restaurant. two things also stands out. i do not recalled the last time i go in the hotel and there is a long line for check in which happens this time, there were at least 3 ppl in front and after me. and it takes a bit of time although the staff were very kind. also lines both nights when going to the bar, huge line on saturday, at least 12 ppl jammed in the lift lobby. I also noticed that there are not any native english speaking staff, not at the check in, nor maitre d at the bar nor the room service phone reception. we had a good stay but def a few things that stood out.

This hotel is fantastic! Located in the heart of Edinburgh's Old Town, it's within easy walking distance of everything. The Old and New Elephant Café, just outside the door, is a must-see for Harry Potter fans. There's also a Chinese restaurant, which will delight those with Chinese tastes. The hotel has a vibrant design, with a retro mid-century red accent that brightens up the gloomy Edinburgh. The red King of Hearts design on the room card is also eye-catching. I asked about it when I checked out, and they even gave me one as a souvenir. I was surprised to learn that the hotel even replaces the shower heads for guests—a first for me. The complimentary glass bottles of water each day are another thoughtful touch.

I am satisfied with the room facilities. It is very beautiful and the location is very convenient. However, the room I was assigned is on the second floor of another building, which is very far away. I had to carry my luggage up and down. Fortunately, I had few things and it was convenient for me to carry them there for the first time. Otherwise, I think I would not be able to find it at all. The waiter couldn't find it when he brought me water at night. He asked me how I found my room... I went to their commons club for dinner. The appetizers and desserts were great, but I couldn't even bite the steak.

This hotel is a hotel that combines bar, catering and accommodation. After getting off the plane from Edinburgh Airport, we took the tram to the city center and then navigated to walk to the hotel. The hotel is very close to the train station, about three to four hundred meters walk. The rooms, services, and dining at this hotel are all great! They prepared a letter when I checked in. I also wrote a thank you letter to them before leaving. It was very interesting. I will choose their home again next time I come to Edinburgh!

Great hotel, great room, great location, friendly staff. Breakfast was great and fulfilling. They had various options, but I chose the full English breakfast which was delicious. The room was spacious and clean with lots of features and amenities. Very central location with easy access to the new town and the old town. The train station is 5 min walk from the hotel. I will definitely be staying at the Doghouse again.

As a frequent guest of the hotel, I pay great attention to every detail. The room is clean and tidy, the housekeeping is timely, the service is warm and thoughtful, the environment is comfortable and warm, the hardware and software are excellent. I have chosen this hotel more than once. I will stay here again next time and will recommend it to my friends.

This is a century-old building with great historical value. The front desk staff is friendly, the rooms are neat and clean, and it is close to the supermarket and train station. It is close to Edinburgh's famous castle. It is a very convenient hotel for sightseeing. Next time I come to Edinburgh, I will choose this hotel.

The hotel is perfectly situated right on the Royal Mile – the location is absolutely superb! It's just an 8-minute walk from the train station. Be aware that there are some steps along the route, which might be a bit of a workout if you're carrying heavy suitcases. It's a very family-friendly hotel. The bedroom has a large bed, and the living room sofa converts into a double bed, comfortably accommodating two adults and two children. Our room was incredibly clean, newly renovated, and surprisingly quiet. Even though the Royal Mile is bustling with street performers and activities, we couldn't hear any noise from our room at all. Having amenities like a washing machine and oven in the room was a huge plus. Just a note: toothpaste, toothbrushes, and slippers aren't provided as standard. We brought our own dental kit, so we only needed to ask the front desk for slippers. Breakfast is served à la carte; you order what you like, and top-ups are available if you're still hungry. Edinburgh Castle is a mere 5-minute walk to the right from the hotel's entrance, with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby – incredibly convenient!

I booked a hotel to see Edinburgh Castle, but the room was on the E floor, which was very short. The streetlight pole happened to be in front of the window. Although I could face the castle, the view was very poor. The facilities are old and the faucets are splashing everywhere. Moreover, there are very few sockets, the heating is useless, and the wind blows coldly. The winter in Edinburgh is unbearable.

My friend and I stayed at InterContinental Edinburgh The George, and it was truly wonderful. The hotel is elegant, and the city of Edinburgh is just amazing. A special shout-out to Frank in the lobby—I've stayed in quite a few hotels, and I can honestly say he's one of the best. He takes the time to connect with guests, remembers you, and offers help with genuine kindness. He really made our stay even more memorable.

The room is very large and very satisfactory. The facilities are good, there are many tables and chairs, which are convenient for leisure and storage. I stayed for three days and washed my clothes, which dried very quickly. The receptionist was a young lady named Zhang from Taiwan. She was very kind and friendly and answered many small questions about travel for us.

I was touched by an amazing gesture. One night during my stay I wasn’t able to sleep and when something like this happens I drink milk. It was too cold I don’t wanted to go outside so I asked the staff if I can buy a glass of milk from them. One of the female staff gave me the milk and didn’t allow me to pay. I felt so touched because it was such a caring gesture. She asked me to sit and finish it like my mum haha. So, I was the only one sitting in the bar and drinking milk. I don’t know but I really felt touched by the gesture. Also, the place is amazing and clean. I had no issues and I made amazing friends from the stay. Attached is the picture for reference. 😊

This was the most satisfying hotel we stayed at in Edinburgh, though it was quite pricey. The bed wasn't huge, but the bathroom was very spacious. The towel drying rack was a lifesaver, allowing us to dry clothes and trousers we'd been wearing for days. Breakfast was very satisfying and plentiful. The staff kindly helped us arrange a taxi when we checked out, ensuring we made it to our train on time. It's less than 1 km from the train station, but with luggage, navigating the steep hills and cobblestone streets was quite a workout. A taxi would definitely be a better option for those with heavy bags. There are plenty of dining options nearby, and the location is generally convenient for exploring the city.

The hotel's location in Edinburgh was a bit out of the way, not being in the city center. Our room was on the lower ground floor, directly beneath the breakfast area. In the mornings, the scraping and movement of chairs from guests having breakfast upstairs created very jarring noises in our room, which was enough to wake us up. Judging by the bathroom facilities, it seemed we were assigned an accessible room.

I stayed in this hotel for 3 days. When i arrived we were given a noisy connecting room facing the construction site.I could hear people speaking from the next room clearly and they were really noisy as well. The Front office guy manager helped us check-in.Next day there was a very nice lady named Andrrea (sorry if i spelled it wrong)she helped us move to this beautiful room with the view. She was very helpful and always smiling.Breakfast was really nice. But the only thing i am disappointed with is that there were no toothbrush and slippers in the room. The Housekeeping team only cleaned our room but didn’t refill any amenities like water, toilet rolls, coffee, milk and even the hand towel from the bathroom so i had to ask for everything when i came back to my room. Its quite embarrassing for me to ask for these myself tbh.I would love to see Andrrea again when come back.

When you open the hotel window, you can see the castle, and below is Edinburgh's garden fountain. The room is very new and has complete facilities. It will feel a little far to drag your luggage back from Aibo Railway Station. There is another Premier Inn hotel slightly closer to the train station. But the unexpected bonus is that it is very close to the rural village of Dean, and it takes 10-13 minutes to walk there through navigation. Stayed 2 nights in total. Most of the guests here are local British citizens, and I have never met any Chinese.

Pros: Great location, within easy walking distance to most Edinburgh attractions, such as Edinburgh castle, royal mile, princess street, Beverly station, grass market and so on. Amazing staff. Friendly people and always addressed me as sir even though I am really young. That was really professional of them. One of the persons was an elderly man and he addressed me as sir even though I am wayyyy younger than him. That was really nice and humble of him. Truly appreciate it. Breakfast was amazing. Lots of food choices and tasty food. Location is brilliant. The room I had was overlooking princes street and the view was amazing. The room was also very clean and well maintained.  Perhaps the only thing that can be improved is ventilation in the bathroom as there was no extractor fan (or maybe I didn’t know how to use it xd) the air conditioning too kept turning off after every 45 mins which was slightly annoying but the hotel had provided me with a fan in my room so no major issues anyway. Overall it was a great experience and would definitely recommend
